Never thought academy would send their vanhools through Route 9 on the Union Hill and Lakewood trips. Saw 3 in service at Robertsville Road.
They come down, hell a lot of those runs don't go out with state buses though they're usually just MCIs. But I even saw a Setra once, and they've been sending down the Atlantic Express Vanhools pretty often too.

Rode 3563 for the first time today on the Q35, to be honest it still sounds kinda like a hybrid at least with the AC on. I even heard a few little high pitch/squeaky noises that sound just like hybrids.

29th Street, 38th Street, 40th Street, Galvin, Weehawken, and the UBL (Upper Bus Level of the Port). Each garage is assigned a lot, or lots - for example, Weehawken is used by Wayne, Howell and Oradell. 38th Street is Fairview and Market Street. Oradell also uses 29th Street.
Howell uses the lot by the Javits. Seen NABIs there too so it's not only theirs.

OA/TA are doing shuttles. MTA Bus is not doing it.
They have been out lately though... even in Brooklyn

Man if CP brings MCI's out there I would be no good!!!
I remember when LI Bus brought theirs out...

I think Grand will cover it...CP is too far
It's never just 1 depot. And usually they try to keep everything 100% under NYCT when it comes to subway shuttles but lately MTA Bus (CP & LGA in particular) have been doing shuttle jobs. CP & LGA could very well make it out there.

Yet, if the numbering starts at 7213, then 148 buses would put the highest numbered MCI at 7360.
I'm wondering if this is the start of the numbering for the option order, since the 65th bus with an order starting at 7213 would put the last of the "base" order buses at 7277.
Keep in mind the haphazard delivery of the current MCI fleet, where, as I recall, there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how the buses were numbered during the delivery process.
They have DesignLines up til 7214, so it would start at 7215.

Our CNG pilot has arrived. Bus is numbered 7278.
Looks a little weird...but approved! (beats those DLs)

Good move. A lot of the flipdots on the NJT MCIs started to crap out after the Clever Devices got put in.Say "So Long" to the NICE Flip Dots...
Apparently with the instalation of the new Clever Device systems in the buses this year, all of the buses with Flip-Dot signs will be upgraded to LED signs.

Probably just temporary moves for the LIRR shuttles, once the strike is over I would imagine Yukon gets everything back.Wow, so Yukon is basically losing most of the next gens they just got...
Even Fresh Pond gave back their next gens to staten island

They should use artics, and MCIs, I mean, it's LIRR riders.
They got D60s, MCIs, RTSes, Beeline O5s in storage and they take from Yukon's active fleet that it (really) needs. Unless they're prepping storage buses to come back out later this week and those Yukon buses are extras, let's wait and see.

Heres a real head scratcher......4009, 4116, 4132, and 4137 YUK to LGA. No fareboxes in them yet.....
4127,3998,4058,4131 at BP, no fareboxes, from what I'm hearing if the strike happens, these will see BP service, if strike doesn't happen, then these will go to JFK (this came from a source who works at at bp)
Sounds like the shuttles are gonna be coming out of LGA and BP. Not surprised they didn't give them MCIs from storage for it, especially since a good bunch of them will be school buses that don't even have AC...
Would have been better off taking RTS out of storage. Those hybrids could crap out on the highway (good thing is they won't be going that fast at least as they get closer to the city) and can't handle the crowds as good as a high floor.

Not a route proposal...BUT
Swap depots between College Point and Casey Stengel. What I mean is...let the CS staff and routes move into the CP building, and let CP's staff routes and MCIs move into the CS building. It's basically known now that the MTA wants CP to be mostly or all express which puts the CNG system that NYCDOT, QSC and the MTA invested in at CP to waste, but CS is 100% local and they could keep putting the CP CNG system and buses to work for years while CP as it is now is gonna need less and less CNG, since they're supposed to get the QM24/25 while all the local routes except the ones actually going to College Point and Whitestone (maybe the Q66 too, that's gonna be a mess for LGA to handle at least on its own) get moved to LGA. Just an idea...

The AE ones didn't have rear windows, if I remember correctly. The silver Academy ones have them; at least the ones I've been on.
Some did

Do they still have those buses?
Also are the RTS trackable on Bustime?
They're still around but they don't have the Clever Devices so they're not online. The 95 basically only uses them though.

I'm taking this with a very little grain of salt...but I'm hearing that the new order of MCI CNGs might be coming this fall along with the MCI Hybrid order. Also, the only Designline that was sent back was 7202, as that was the pilot bus to build the other buses. 7203 is the only one that never made it on the property, as that was the other Designline that went out West and other cities in the U.S. 7201, 7204-7214 still operate and sit at Howell.
Also, the Designline/MCI exchange is not going to happen immediately, so you'll likely get a chance to get a photo of either one of them side by side.
That hybrid order never got actually awarded/placed IIRC.

M15 runs D60s. And further up by City Hall you can check out the M103 if you're downtown.Damn, that sucks. Oh well, thanks for the info anyway.
What about near Battery Park?

Not all of tthem, still plenty of runs show up off the map and without Clever Devices, but lately they've been trying not to do that. It's basically all the late 8500s from the 8560s to 8590s that have them. What's weird is they have them but inside the announcements are audio only, they didn't put a LED sign up front, guessing cause the Academy units didn't have them already there since they have no Wayfarer and they didn't feel like installing new ones.I noticed that too. It's because Academy's buses that are on the 139 have clever devices on them. I kept thinking Howell had buses from Academy to keep.
Speaking of Academy, I think I saw them doing a 130 or 139 run in the PM rush, haven't seen them off the 136 in the PM for a while. I had 7214 for my ride yesterday though, holy shit that was an uncomfortable seat (back row was full by the time I got on smh) but dammmn that bus hauled ass. I would say better than the MTA reject 7100s even.

Airtrain shuttle today is mostly the PA Orions and a few white MCIs and Vanhools from some "Endeavor Transportation" which I've seen Academy also subcontract alot of their Javits shuttles out to. No RTS out so far.
Meanwhile Coach USA is still full of the RTSes and they aren't going anywhere, Coach owns them now. I thought they were gonna use them mostly for the EWR Express but there's a shit ton still rolling around Newark, I'm on 31558 myself on the 24 now.

NJT probably sent them back out, sold/scrapped them, or the new CNGs started arriving and they're being tested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They had expired tanks. At least 1 of them has the back taken off.

A #4702 showed up on BusTime on the B47. I wonder what bus that truly is. Glitches always appear.
