  1. For the next bus order, i have a feeling that NICE will order some Gillig CNGs, seeing as though they are too poor to order New Flyers, unless the MTA steps in and pays for some XN40s.

Not necessarily. If NICE is interested in purchasing New Flyer products as some have mentioned there is the possibility of direct negotiations rather than issuing a competitive RFP.

And if a RFP is still issued New Flyer may still be the most compliant to the criteria NICE has set.

  2. My regional location leaves me used to earthquakes to an extent. Luckily I've never have had to deal with any damage of sorts, but there's been some crazy ones.

Anyhow, back to the topic (ironic, I now), it's amazing where roses, a box of chocolates and a good Merlot will take you in one night.

  3. College Point is running those buses until they no longer work. Look at 9915 it was ran until it finally gave up on the Q23. If one of those buses start to have problems it will be taken OOS and sent to scrap. So expect those remaining Orion CNG's to run until they have a problem.

#9905 is retired as of tonight sir.
  4. Lmao & that's so sad because in human years, that's only a teenager :(

Well that's actually the term most in the industry use.

It seems there is only one Orion V CNG left, 9905, and chances are you'll find it on the Q66. I'm checking ECH on Sunday.

    Time's running out...

  5. I'm just glad no rioted in Florida after the Zimmerman trial, can't say the same for other areas sadly. As for the case, it's guilty. There is just no justification for shooting someone over loud music.

Exactly. Incidents like these are contributing factors for the increased regulation on firearms nationwide.

  6. Passengers manage GOs on a regular basis, that's not a solid basis to avoid a particular permanent service pattern.

But if confusion is the basis of that plan then you could always send the M uptown. *disappears into the darkness*

Passengers are competent enough to manage and differentiate multiple services?

    Get out of here.

  8. Anyone notice that when you are running for a bus and it leaves without you, you get pissed, but when you are on the bus and you see a person miss it, you feel happy?

I feel like this a lot.

Not really, I can be quite compassionate when I like. Usually when I see someone running I'll trigger the stop request or if the bus is stopped ask the operator a question with the intent of stalling.

Generally though if they still manage to miss it I figure "you win some you lose some".

Additionally, does anyone here NEVER run for the bus/train in order to avoid the run of shame when the vehicle pulls off? I have found myself doing this recently.

It's more foolish to not even attempt it when there is even a slim chance of you making it. If I miss it well screw it.

  9.

Slumlords take advantage of people who cant afford high rent offered for quality apartments with around the clock maintenance without the hassles. Therefore its related. Dont cut your nose off to spite your face.

If some have always been fortunate enough to have a leaser who is on top of things and holds his/her word than good for them. Others haven't been as lucky, or have been in much more complicated living situations.

It's not like me to say so, but just leave it be. At the end it's clear who are the empathic posters trying to help BreeddekalbL in this situation.

  10. LOL Yeah, Disneyland is in Cali, Disney World is Florida.

Believe me, most in Cali only want it for the jobs, otherwise Florida can keep all the parks for all that it matters.

Seeing how it happened in Miami, they'll probably blame cocaine, since that was a prevalent drug in the 1980s.

What, you do coke now? Nice.

i just need to let this off my chest,

im living with my parents in a duplex and were dealing with a scum lord (guy is the executor for his daughter who lives out of town) and we are basiclly living in a fire hazard with rats and he is ignoring the problem, and threatens my family with eviction because we say we refuse to pay the rent until he fixes the problem .Hes only doing it just to silence us. we tried to contact his daughter to help the situation but she tries to throw it back onto us and they are trying to hold us hostage into signing a new lease or they will evict us. His daughter somehow heard that we can't afford the rent and want us out WHICH WE NEVER SAID. we got city code you name it involved in this and we even have the local nbc  affiliate involved. He's threatening our lives with these nasty rats which have diseases and can kill our dog with parvo. we also consulted an attorney and he said what their doing is illegal and the lease is FRAUD!

today the guy brings a roof guy and an exterminator, the jerk is trying to avoid us saying i don't want to talk to you,  my mother was telling the first guy where to look and he tells my mother to shut up! which infuriates me and  i yelled at him to dropping every swear word you can think of  and saying TELL MY MOTHER TO SHUT UP AGAIN!  Next he went over to the other side opened the gate and then their dog ran away around the neighborhood, the neighbor had to call one of his cop buddies to help him and gets the dog, in this time the scumlord come's back with a person to be with him because understand we both duplex's are in full revolt! then he come' then the jerk has the nerve to put a notice of pay or leave, it's a tense situation

I'd definitely would take him to court on the matter, as there are many violations on his part as a landlord, failing to properly accommodate you and your family (the tenant). If I were you I'd ask for restitution as well for having to live in the aforementioned harmful conditions.

I'd personally advise you seek legal  advise, but if you're confident you can make a case then do so, as there is plenty to work with that will ultimately end up in your favor.

  11. I was out one night with my friend & her friends on our way home from a party & one of her friends really pulled down her jeans, pulled her panties to the side and starting pissing on the bus seat standing up. And everyone was just recording it & laughing with her.

That's nothing. I get drunk stupid in public all the time.

    It happens.

  12. Cant even walk on these hills in staten island. These bastards seriously shovel and dont put down salt, leaving a layer of ice. People have to walk in the streets. I'd rather you not shovel if you dont have ice, because then I can use the snow as a grip. Honestly no jokes aside, i was skiing down hylan blvd this morning walking to the S78. It was fun because i literally moved about 6-7 feet sliding which was cool, but when i stopped I slipped up and almost fell. I find it sooo wierd how I always slip, but never fall.

Haha, the sidewalks are always in shitty condition, regardless of the weather. You're better off walking in the street itself.
