It does sound weird, sounds like a nova rts tmc a little bit, probably bad insulation

Just heard on the bus radio. The ta is on the look out for an 11 y.o. male that has gone missing on the b38 not going to give his name (i heard that too)because 1.its illegal to release without the parents consent
2. I don't know if the child is officially missing or not

Wow those new MTA schedules are so different from the ones they had for about 15 years.
They remind me of the Long Island bus or Suffolk County schedules.
I'm loving these new schedules

Yeah the trains could easily switch into the yard

Those vans, if new, are pretty comfortable and accelerate better than mci's and prevosts

Yeah I think the reason was bad advertising . The mta did inform people about the cuts but not about replacement services if they were to implement this they would have to do a s**t ton of advertising or w/o any notification yank the buses off without warning and have the replacement bus drivers explain the situation to the passengers

But due to lowering ridership a private company could just run mini buses to actually provide the service to those who use it on the bm's where ridership is about 20 people per bus per weekday

You know the more I think about it the more i think the x28 x29 and the bm 1-5 should be run by a private operator they would be able to run these routes with mini buses and would actually be able to provide normal buse service

If the X29 is created I would also create an X39 that would run uptown only and replace the X29 which would run only till 23 st

I would agree with the X26 proposal but I don't know whether people would use it. On paper it seems like people can walk to the train or the x28, but idk because I don't know the area well. I also wouldn't want the x29 to use Neptune ( too much traffic) to coney island ave. I would rather it go left on ocean pkwy, stop at coney island hospital, right on ave z stop at Hubbard st, left at coney island ave, rest of route

Anyone think the BM1/3/4 should be in one timetable?
No because they run to different locations and ppl would have trouble reading it

I noticed that the b36 has a wierd am schedule in the morning 2/3 36's run only to ocean pkwy, deadhead to sheepshead and come back as in service to coney. I have two questions about this
1. Why aren't the buses that are put in at sheepshead mentioned on the schedule
2. Why cant the buses short turn at sheepshead instead of deadheading between ocean pkwy and sheepshead

Wait lets clarify rts' s not pulling the load during snow or rain causing slippery surfaces is people's faults because that seems more of a mechanical issue

1. Farebox problems
2. Stop request strings torn or hanging loosely
3. Seats dirty
4. Graffiti and and stuff scratched into panels
And who could forget the rts' s not pulling it during the snow and heavy rain

Not much mechanical problems as there are body and cosmetic problems but those come up too

Its not just the farebox on these new buses

See that's the thing the fareboxes that were capping out most of them were on XD40's and on a Prevost, see that is why it's pathetic that stuff is crapping out on relatively new buses

Damn UP got to get thier maintenance up everyday for the past week I have ridden on at least a bus per day where the farebox was broken. That ks including an express bus

I was wondering, i noticed the QM5 has a run where it picks up at 36st in Manhattan only, does the route have enough ridership to warrant that (idk since I live in bklyn), if so can this same thing be applied to the X1 where it would make a stop at eltingville and run express to the city

I agree that super express trips are needed if MTA Bus wants to gain riders. The bus is kind of slow getting to midtown abd the super express would convience those riders who work in midtown to get back on the bys
