  1. That's great if you can go in and all you have to do is qualify. IT Will save you tons of headaches and go straight into line training while waiting for your classmates to finish sent from my note4
  2. The school buses vs mta buses have different reference points. Are you just trying to get your license ahead of time? Good luck in the near future sent from my note4
  3. That's a great handout with pretty much everything covered. sent from my note4
  4. Had Agosto 1-7 failed (day 6 too close to curb on bus stop), Bush 8-9 passed. Failed roadtest. Went and requalify on day 10 Bush / Negron. Trained more with Soto and Acosta before passing my second roadtest. They all have their respective teaching abilities and all have wide range of personality. Take all the information they give you and Tailor it to your own. Remember you pass or fail yourself, they are there to show you how Zerega and MTA wants you to drive to pass. My light bulb moment about my turning issues was brought into attention on my 8th day, using a reference point that caused my turn issue to be too wide. Soto gave a great parallel parking tip and between him and Acosta they both had great tips on getting close. It's too bad I messed up my count on the amount of turns in the dmv test but 5 points was a great sacafice. Take it all with a grain of salt. It's nothing personal and shouldn't take things to heart. Of course be a sponge and absorb all the feedback, the good and bad. Look over your day sheets and fix your issues, ask for help. Don't show off. Don't be cocky. Even experienced drivers can be frazzled. Take your time. Operate safely. Ask questions if your not sure. Pay attention to how your teammates drive and see what they did right and wrong. The instructor will correct the student, just be mindful. Stay positive and avoid any negativity. Get plenty of rest, and show up on time. Even 1 hr earlier helps you calm down and makes your day better. Be safe. And all good luck. sent from my note4
  5. Today 11/14 class we picked runs at Tuskegee. We are scheduled to be off sat sun monday. Back tues. Graduate Wednesday at Zerega, then come back to Tuskegee and then on our own from there. sent from my note4
  6. ACG type is ok. Non slip dress shoes or non slip work shoes. No sneakers. sent from my note4
  7. Got a notice from UPS, delivery is coming tomorrow. Let's see what I get. [emoji38] sent from my note4
  8. Artic training today at Gun Hill. Now I am more at ease. Looked intimidating at first, but boy does it turn. Tomorrow Tuskegee for day 1 sent from my note4

  11. Passed DMV I'm finally in officially sent from my note4
  12. I received my paycheck on GI Day. Which was a Thursday. Your paid from the first day of orientation until you a: fail to qualify for and or dmv testing. Day 6 is pre qualification. Pass then you go to day 7 for Qualification. FAIL day 6 or 7 you go to more training Day 8 and Day 9 you have to requalify. Fail that you go to Day 10 at Zerega, which you must make qualification. If you fail day 10 you must resign or be fired. You are paid for the 10 days. My case, I started 11/14. Failed day 6. Automatically go to 7, 8, 9. Day 7 was the test but since I didn't qualify it's just training day for me. Trained day 8 and day 9 I qualified. Qualifying on either day 7 or 9, if you don't have your cdl, you get 2 chances to take the dmv road test. After day 9, we continued to "train" but was mostly paperwork at TWC 100 on wednesday, and Zerega for GI Thursday, depot pick and paperwork. Then waited for my road test, Friday. I failed my road test Friday. Sent back to requalify on Monday at Zerega, (if you fail here you must resign or be fired) I passed and thus get another chance with the DMV. This was this Monday. TUES Wed and today was training, each of us getting turns and getting ready for our road test for tomorrow. So every day I worked or reported to TA since 11/14 I WAS PAID TO TRAIN OR WORK OR FILL OUT PAPERWORK. As of now 19 days paid. The day you're asked resign or get fired is the last day you're paid for. sent from my note4
  13. I have nothing but respect for Supt. SOTO. His teaching and techniques are great. I learned with him, and his personality might come off harsh, but means well. It's all how well of a sponge you are. You want to learn from your mistakes and he'll make sure to tell you what to do. From what I've experienced with all the superintendents, each one has their own teaching methods. Take all the info and make it work for you. I've see what I've done wrong and I'm working on it. I'm just grateful for having 2 chances to take the dmv roadtest. There is no MTA way VS DMV way. Just do as MTA trained you and follow the rules of the road, follow the examiner and everything will be ok. I've got a bad habit of over analyzing things and putting crap in my head. These few days behind the wheel has really opened my eyes. MTA has very strict requirements for operating a 22 ton 40 foot vehicle. 10 days training and qualified 2 times. All hours paid training. How much more can they give you. SUP work with you and the only one you can blame is yourself. Everyone who comes in from day one at livingston is given equal opportunity. Albeit it all stems from being qualified. Good luck to those 11/14 class and future classes to come. sent from my note4
  14. 180 livingston is medical and HR paperwork. Zerega is training location and yes you fill out paperwork both locations. After qualification you're sent to TWC 100 for other paperwork. All of which your paid. sent from my note4 Yesterday was a great day learning from Supt Soto. Feeling very confident for my upcoming roadtest Fri. Everyday behind the wheel I get more comfortable. sent from my note4
  15. Thanks for the positive feed, and just pass my day 10 qualification just now. Roadtest for friday. I need to have a layout of what I did wrong from the first time around. Something about not yielding in highway. sent from my note4
  16. I'm in that situation now. I was called in so quick for Buses, I had to get my permit. I wished I had my CDL license before starting. I passed on day 9 and took my dmv roadtest last Friday and failed with 70 points. Just got caught up with everyone worried about passing and the expectations of what was to come in the roadtest. I felt like I didn't know how to drive. Once one person failed in the beginning it all went down hill from there. When I left 4 failed 3 passed on Friday NOW i have to do day 10 today and pass and then get another chance for dmv. This is crazy. I've made it this far and put to much into this. I want this job. I've seen people who quit long careers with their old employers and have nothing to go back to after being forced to resign from MTA ,either by not qualifying or not passing the roadtest sent from my note4
  17. Failed roadtest. Have to repeat training and pass day 10 and retake roadtest sent from my note4 Oto is after whatever the run total. So if the run is 11 hours you do not get ot until after the 11hr sent from my note4

  21. My process was 11/4 pre employment with drug testing, 11/9 medical with 21 page book and when passed medical was on to processing same day. Training class 11/14 sent from my note4
  22. Yes. I've heard I get 2 chances since I did it in 9 days? The recent days i should be able to do it. When my Supt. told me to secure the bus and walked out the bus, made a call and turned to me and said, "welcome to the family, you've qualified", I broke down with joy and happiness , the cloud over me has broken and my life can come full swing. Anyone can pm me details of the test or is it staight foward? Pre trip, ALSAPS, THEN drive? Calling over passes, hazards etc , sent from my note4
  23. Qualified day 9. Thanks for everyone's help. sent from my note4
