  1. My transfer to Staten Island came in last Tuesday which I accepted. After 5 days of line training on multiple lines per day, I can say SI definitely has a little bit of everything. Experienced those tight squeezes doing the S40 on Richmond Terrace due to construction. Lots of curving narrow roads and blind curves. The S66 has some pretty steep inclines and declines. Must be pretty challenging in the winter months. Don't know my way around the Island yet, which is making me a little stressed out, but overall I'm liking the routes and happy with my decision to transfer.
  2. Were you sent to SI or did you pick it? How is it compared to the rest of the boroughs you drove in when qualifying?
  3. I had my medical on Nov 9th as well. They took the 21 page booklet and processed me that same day I passed medical. Reported to Zerega on Nov 14th. Better to bring the completed booklet with you than risk an avoidable delay in the hiring process. Good luck.
  4. I've had a few classmates tell me line training is 6 weeks in Staten Island and 4 weeks in the other boroughs. Can anyone confirm this?
  5. Cool thanks. Didn't remember what it said exactly. Something with the unions. Queens and Staten Island depots have different unions from Brooklyn and Manhattan.
  6. Is it possible to select a Queens depot after you signed the waiver at Zerega? Now that I've been to multiple depots in training, I'm considering picking into a Queens depot. Wish they would've let us go through training to get a feel for the depots before signing that.
  7. I did. Loved his training style. Exactly the way I wanted to go through training with the MTA. No yelling making you nervous like a drill sergeant but tells you like it is. Had four guys on our bus and he told us from day 1, we're all family here. Everyone on our bus was encouraging each other to try to get it done in seven days. Two of the four qualified on day seven. Would've been three but one guy made avoidable mistakes because he was nervous. He's a good driver so I'm sure he'll pull it together for day 9. Nothing but good things to say about Supt. Goddard from my experience.
  8. Stay positive man. Good luck. I was training out of Casey Stengel. Love that depot and gonna miss it. Sucks that once you pick into Queens, you're stuck there. I would've definitely picked it.
  9. Just qualified right now on day 7. Thank you to everyone who has helped out with any questions asked in this thread.
  10. Can shirts have a pocket? The admission letter says plain light blue shirts but I'm thinking they mean no logos or anything like that.
  11. I ended up not getting it. They don't give exact dates of employment which is what I wanted. I know what month and year I started each job but I wanted to be exact if I could.
  12. I went to the Social Security office in Long Island City and they told me the same thing. I asked for my employee history and they said they only give Earnings reports. $115 and that location doesn't accept credit cards.
  13. Thanks for the info. Employment is simple for me because I've only had two jobs in my life dating back to 2002. I was going to head to the SS office tomorrow for my employment history but if there's no exact dates, it's kind of useless. Are you putting down date and month only on the CPD packet since you don't have actual dates from your SS abstract?
  14. Same for me. I was there on Thursday for the pre employment/drug test. Have to report this Wednesday for medical at 7:30. I know my previous employment history and schools attended but I'm stressing over the dates. Does anyone know if they want exact dates or if the month and year is fine? Also, do they want schools dating back to elementary school or just High School and beyond? Thinking about declining the appointment for now. If I do decline, what happens afterwards? Will I be removed from the list and have to reinstate or will they email me again for the next class?
  15. Anyone know if Manhattan bus depots have employee parking? MJ Quill depot specifically?
  16. Thank you! My list number is in the 1260's. Thanks Young!
  17. I'm heading to 180 Livingston Street this Friday the 21st for pre employment. Anyone think I'll get a training class this year or am I looking at early next year?
  18. Thanks man. Your posts as well as others have been very helpful. I'm actually going back throughout this thread to read everyone's experiences again. Thanks to everyone who has posted. I'm in a similar situation. I had an accident in Sept. 2015. Got sideswiped by a hit and run driver. Police report was filed but no accidents come up on my abstract. I'm still going to disclose it, but man will that suck if it affects my opportunity for this job.
  19. I received my pre employment letter today. List # is in the mid 1200's. Have to report to Livingston St on 10/21. Check your mailboxes 4600.
  20. My list number is in the mid 1200's and haven't received anything yet. If there's anyone on this forum above list number 900, please post if or when you receive the pre employment letter. I'll be sure to do the same for people above my number.
  21. Whoa. List really is moving. My list number is in the 1200's. Anyone on this forum with a list number over 1000 get a letter for pre employment yet?
  22. Anyone know how long Conductor 8094 list has been active and how far into that list are they?
  23. Are you thinking about comparing your Candidate's Record of Answers sheet to others? If so, I would say it's probably a waste of time. I did that with Bus Operator exam 4600 and can tell you that everyone I pmed who took the test at the same time/date as me had different answers. I think everyone gets the same questions on the test but they're listed in different order in the booklets.
  24. Good to hear you're liking the job. Yeah I got my CDL back in January around the time I pm'd you. List number is in the 1200's so hopefully I get called by early 2017. Are you in a depot in Staten Island? Possibly moving out there later this year.
