  2. Fresh pond is consider a Brooklyn depot . I passed on day 9 and when I first started out my 10 day training I was telling all my friends and family I didn't think I was going to pass. I kept hitting curbs and making mistakes my nerves got the best of me. But all it really takes is concentration and confidence and you can pull it off . Once I passed l pillArs day my confidence change and I got a lot better now im on the job almost a year my probation ends Monday. So if anyone needs help im willing to help them because God blessed me with a career I desperately needed and I pray everyone who wants this job gets it
  3. Ta is the best gives you the option to work anywhere in New York city once a there's opening but queens and Staten Island are separate division. Plus ta basically means your a city worker and you recieve city pensions if your is your consider state work and recidve state pensions. From my understanding ta pension are slightly better If your oa is state pensions
  4. Accidents do not disqualify I was told the same thing had me thinking I wasn't going to get the job but I got hired. I had a accident on feb 14 2013 got hired in Spring 2015 If you call the mta hr and ask them if accidents automatically disqualify for there going to tell you no that's what I did
  5. Don't forget before you back up or park you must secure your bus and get out and walk to the back of the bus to make sure it's clear
  6. That's all not true you can have at fault accidents I had one and still got hired
  7. You can have a a3 restrictions all that means is you can only operate in passenger service in New York city. Since there is only one route right now that picks people up in New Jersey and that's in staten island you can have a a3 restriction
  8. Never drove that bus but everyone who has says it's easier. You can't pick the routes you train on . In your 10 day training you driver wherever the supt tells you once you passed that your in line training at a depot and the crew disbatcher will assign you with a different guy everyday on different routes so you learn them all
  9. All depends on hiring needs could be twice a month at the max since classes are two week cycles or it could be every 2 months
  10. They usually call the 100 ppl at time so it would be from number 1 to 100 you might not recieve one yet if it is 4600 this guy list number had to be 1-100
  11. Make sure you have your permit and any other info you would need regarding past employment and stuff. When you get there your going to wait in line check in then they will make you line up again and ask you for your driver license and permit give you more paperwork to fill out and tell you to sit down. You will wait I had to wait 3 hours before I got called up again. What they are doing is running your license make sure you don't have more points than what is accepted . When you finally get called up again they will tell you if your license is good if it is you will hand in all your paperwork and you will be sent down the hall for a drug test . Once you take the drug test you will go back to the main desk so them your paperwork that states you took the drug test and they will tell you okay will call you in 3 days to 3 months. You also might take picture for your Id and get fingerprinted not sure if that was the second day . Bring a snack you could be there all day good luck Also if you ever been arrested or recieved a summons in your adult life you must have your deposition with you .
  12. With a dwi conviction you have to wait 5 years bettor you can get a job with the mta. However since it got dismissed you might have a chance. That's up in the air its a hit or miss just go down there when they call you and they will let you know if your good or they might tell you to wait another 2 years and reinstate your name on the list
  13. Mta goes by your drivers abstract and as far as that goes it will stay on there for 3 years not 18 months . The mta does not except defensive driving courses either but as long as you are at 4 points or lower you are fine no need to worry
  14. 2 points is fine. 4 is the maximum i got hired with 4 points on my license
  15. 2613 list came out in October of 2013 my list number was 11*9 I recieved my first letter in March of 2014 but couldn't accept it because I had points on my license. I expect 4600 to go Alittle quicker because I assume a lot of people who took 2613 Also took 4600 like myself. Because I scored a 82 I didn't even expect a call let alone one in the first year
  16. My brother score is way different then what the answer key said did anybody else have that problem
  17. I had mine for 2 years just tell them you got it for a job with the mta
  18. I was in ulmer park before I came to Staten Island . An yes your permit is fine there is only one depot I know of that you need a dot medical and that's in staten island and they will send you there when the time is right.
  19. I was called in 3 days after my drug test for my medical and two weeks after that I started my training
  20. You pick what's open in the beginning you'll only be able to get a work run or extra list which is something different everyday but with a work run you'll know what your doing everyday with the extra list you'll find out what your doing the day before As far as learning the routes you get plenty of time to learn the routes during line training Anybody planning on coming to staten island
  21. I got a letter I need to take the boss for August 9
