People need to start coming to the realization that from the GATE you gotta commit to 2yrs of uncertainty. YOUR NEW, you gotta LEARN how the system works and most importantly go in with an approach of this isn't a regular 9 to 5! ESPECIALLY starting because you know absolutely NOTHING about this system your entering and these shifts bumps bruises is going to sharpen your skill set and most of all TEACH you how to deal with adversity. You are NOT in an office setting, your on a damn train. Your responsible partially for moving people from borough to borough getting them to WORK and your paid well to do so. Forget about your social life, this is called SACRIFICE for the bigger picture. And yes don't expect anyone to care about your gripes, stop acting like PETTY MURPHY and just listen to understand NOT respond.. your response is ACTION. I don't know how anyone can walk into this position and feel any sense of entitlement, you need to learn and then work the system the best way you can for your benefit. PERIOD

Curious... the pre employment says nothing about arrests or infractions? Is it during the 2nd point that they require depositions?? I just noticed that they gave me mine back in my folder??

PEOPLE LISTEN TO THE VETS ON THE JOB... if your really about making a life, push through focus and focus. THIS JOB is that place. If you happen to know any TO speak with them, ask them questions see if they'll let you peak at their "bible" anything to solidify yourself. This opportunity is not to be taken for granted. They make you jump through hoops and have a slow process for a reason. It actually weeds out the half steppers BUT once your on and working, there is another phase you will go through and your going to question your decision, again this is about testing what your made of. If your not built like that OR don't have the "bigger picture" mindset your gonna fold. Dig deep, focus and learn, also don't be a " I'm not here to make friends" type. Dealing everyday with the general public is already tough and the misery loves company crowd are everywhere. A Good Morning or kind spirit goes a long way down there and know that ONE DAY someone you spoke too and have built a genuine bond with could turn out to be that person who could help you in a situation that you would't otherwise know how to handle.

OHHH NA... I understand this is a PROCESS and thankfully I have people who are in that are giving me and understanding so if I Gotta do this 5 times, it's whatever. The goal is to get that appointment to the little room where your sworn in, period

My bad, yeah I went the 29th and did the P/E... they said and it was posted 3 to 90 days for a call back notification email. so I'm waiting... trust with a list # of 4881 5yrs ago I took that and tossed it and forgot about it. Then COVID hit and loads retired or past (rip) I have a few of my people in TO's and TSS's.... and they told me your in...they notified you. give them everything I'm no dirty urine guy... no violent past etc...so I'm hoping I get called unlike Sanitation, scored a 104 and didn't get the call and those people gave me the run around and I have a CDL class B...so I'm hoping I get my call

I don't know, I want in Friday, processed gave urine... now I gotta wait for the 2nd email/notice for the 2nd part

If your serious about losing weight and can be disciplined start intermittent fasting and eat at a calorie deficit. if anyones interested reach out and I'll give you a full scoop. it will reset your organs and you'll start feeling the difference inside of a few weeks BUT you have to be DISCIPLINED. week 1 will suck a bit BUT after that you'll find you groove and be on a better path

I'm list #4881... didn't think I'd get called at all even with COVID retirements etc but hey, I got called now hopefully 2nd step coming. I know my urine etc is good.... so I'm just hopeful for NO SNAGS. I'm thinking late winter

Just got my email on 7/15 reported for pre employment screening and drug testing 7/29 I would imagine it will be late winter before i'm in School car. Nope, none of that... Thing is everyt time I called to inquire WHY I wasn't called the woman gave me the run around until she finally said "We're not qualifying" or whatever verbiage she used for putting people through the process. Basically I scored that 104 and never heard from them, when I called they stated that.

They ain't never going to let me in, crazy thing is I have my CDL Class B for like 4yrs already to. All I would need to do is pass that physical

Its crazy because when I called 3-4 times I kept getting the same treatment. I'm thinking maybe one day soon I should just go down there.

I can't say right now because off top I don't remember BUT it was definitely in the 3-4K range. I also called there and they basically said OH WELL... it's absurd if you ask me

I know I took this and the Security exam in 2018 and I haven't gotten either results back. My TO list number is in the early 4K which means I'm never getting called and Conductor is 28K so I know I'm NEVER getting called. Man... this wait is almost like income tax time LMFAO

I scored 104.5 and NEVER got anything. When I called they said "Oh well, we're not certifying anyone no more anyway". that was the end of that

LMFAO... if there was residency points, I completely SHIT the bed.... an 85 score with a 22xxx list.... by the time they even consider hitting me up, I'll get my results from the Train Operator and if I shit the bed on this I'm sure I completely BOMBED on the Train Operator

Finally got my letter, passed and list # is 6,### so I'm expecting to hear at the rate of classes probably early 2018 I THINK... no matter. I'm just hopeful to get in some agency as I'm 3,5## on sanitation and waiting on my conductor results and plan on taking the Train operator soon. Good luck to everyone...

Your not out of Sanitation necessarily, it will just be a longer wait. I got 102.4 and I got a 4K list number. They just generated a 3600 list, so your not out it's just a longer wait. To me those guys aren't retiring because there is so much money to be made once your on the job and made it past your first 3yrs.

I took the conductor and it had no landmarks or I took the conductor exam and it had NO military time and NO landmarks as I was told...? It was total reading comprehension, writing proper incident reports, understanding directions (following them) etc. I suspect this is because it's just 1 part of a bigger picture before the next phase?

Whoah.... I would say fall 2016 and that's expected anyway. Working for the city is a process
