Thanks for the info, what shifts do they have for track worker?

For anyone already on the job what time did training start and are there different times for classes? Also once you are established and increased seniority can you pick your shift and is there a 4 p.m to midnight shift available. Thanks in advance for any input

I hope you do too see ya on the tracks I spoke with the guy dealing with the exam his name is Charlie and he said I just have I wait til they start hiring then I will get a call so it seemed as if being on cert or not doesn't really matter as long as you are on the list

I'm off the cert as well gonna call today to see what is going on list 32* hopefully the system is just screwed up

So what do you need to bring with you? The packet just says photo ID birth certificate s.s card military id (if you were military) and the filled out packet anything else I should be bringing with me?

That may have been me I called to no avail and when I went in they said I didn't need to call. When I spoke with the guy at the desk he said if your list number is lower than someone else that came in fully prepared and you have to come back that they always take care of the lower list number for jobs first. That day I went in they took care of everything and now just waiting for letter to go back

Called today same answer they don't know until they are called saying they need more workers because people retiring getting promoted or fired or for whatever reason. From earlier post suppose to be a ton of people retiring so don't know what the hold up is. Got just sit back and wait keep the forum alive seems to be the only thing that keeps hope alive for this job knowing you aren't the only one out thee going through this crazy wait period

Soon as you get it taken care of just go back to 180 Livingston street at 7:30 to continue. I forgot a few things and had to return they gave me a piece of paper and said to hold onto it because I needed it when I came back. I was told to call back and set up an appointment so I could come back and start the process I called everyday for 5 days, finally I got to speak to the person the person they said I needed to speak to, to set up an appointment she said come in any day be here by 7:30 she said I didn't need to call glad I wasted a week of my time I had all papers ready the same day coulda been there and done already now I have to wait til Monday

Just got my first letter today list 315-330 so something must be happening soon good luck everyone

How many hours you puttin in, they let you work a 60+ week? Also where are the choices you got to choose from to work any other than Brooklyn or Bronx was Westchester, putnam or dutchess available?

Well if a new class starts April 1st that's 4 months to get through 150 people a nice round number so say they continue a pace like that they would hire 450 people a year so that would be 1800 people in 4 years hopefully the hiring process goes much faster but it doesn't seem likely the way things have been going. There could be a period when a ton of people retire and it goes faster no way to really tell but from the numbers we have and the time it has taken they prob won't get to those numbers so keep taking tests good luck

My guess. Show up every day on time, pay attention, study, pass tests, don't drink or do drugs and you should be fine also remember listen to many but speak to few take in all you can and it should go smooth.

Hearing this i revoke my previous estimate for others being hired by the summer, next spring is a better guess so people 300 and above don't hold your breath we aren't getting a letter for atleast another year

Aight thanks, now, they are saying 157 people hired and I remember a post saying that he/she had a list slightly higher than 270's and get his/her letter for medical are any of you that took medical still waiting to go into a class or did they get trough that many people already?

For those of you that got your letters were they regular mail or certified and need a signature ?

I called in yesterday and spoke to a really cool guy and asked him just that when is the class over. He told me it doesn't matter when the class is over they won't start calling us until they need more workers either people retire, get fired, promoted etc...so let's hope this last class does so good they all get promoted and a bunch a guys retire.

I'm with ya man, ya get get use to waiting but it still sucks wish they would give more info when you call in. Sometimes I get nice folk on the phone telling me hang in there it will come soon keep calling to find out. Sometimes I get the lazy rude I have a job already stop waisting my time already attitude and they just say they aren't starting a new class yet and hang up on me. You just gotta keep your cool and be patient it's all a big waiting game, we all know we could've ha out answers the minute we handed in the test and a list number the following week but unfortunately it's not like that so we wait good luck hope we all get called soon think we are all anxious to start it's an awesome job to have

First 157 people in class and working temps record lows absolutely freezing. The spring is upon us so the next class gonna be a lot warmer maybe it's not such a bad thing having to wait.
