  1. Nice bus should have big signs saying not to fare beat & also every 30 minutes have loud reminder staying cash fare is $2.75 & also famous a question for you ; does Long Island bus riders union get free or discounted bus rides? That's good to know & I want to thank the Long Island bus union for all it's hard work I. Keeping nice bus up & running & keeping buses on time
  2. I came up with the $500 off the top of my head. What I meant to say is, if the person doesn't pay it is not fair on honest people who pay
  3. I agree a bus driver doesn't want to get hurt but something has to be done about people not paying. Maybe a fairbox camera if you don't pay it will take a picture of you, & email that picture to a cop so he/ she can pull the bus over & give him a $500 dollar ticket, it's similar to the li speed camera program
  4. It's not fare, honest people pay there fare. I pay in coins so it's costing me more maybe nice should invest in a big sign that says no fare beating or if you don't pay the fare cops will be called. Something has to be done it doesn't look right, people paying & people walking on like it's a free bus ,
  5. N20 bus approaches Roosevelt ave stop, driver opens the front door the first 2 adults on the line just entered & just walked on the bus, didn't even make a attempt to pay, and what's worse, the driver said nothing at all to them, So I quietly tell the driver, hey you have 2 people who didn't pay, its not fare to me because I am paying, he told me I should tell the fare beaters, unbelievable response from the nice bus driver today.
  6. How long is the contract with nice bus for? When does it expire? Wouldn't Mta be cheaper to operate li buses?
  7. Famous, I read the sign fine on northern & greenwood ( city line ) it says "NYC law is speed limit is 25 mph" Unless otherwise posted, so if a street in nyc doesn't have speed sign than the speed limit is 25 mph. Also N20 appear to slow down when they enter the city line which makes the trip into queens longer
  8. Why aren't buses allowed to turn right on a red light on Long Island?
  9. I agree 25 mph is too slow, people take buses because they have to go places quickly & maybe speed limit should be increased for buses only.
  10. At the meeting are bus passengers allowed to give testimony about the horrible bus service & hour long wait times?
  11. on N20 route, when you come to the city line ( Greenwood St & Northern Blvd) you see big sign nyc law: speed limit 25 mph. But i like a bus driver who drives fast, he or she knows us passengers have to connect to other bus routes.
  12. Speed limit in NYC is 25 mph, once you hit Long Island speed limit is 55 mph on most roads.
  13. I took N20 to Hicksville Lirr earlier this week, & needed to catch the 451pm N79 to south Huntington, since N20 driver was slow & wasn't moving this made me miss my N79 bus & of course 3 taxi cabs park in bus stop & open there door & ask "u need a ride" I think it's horrible taxi cab drivers look to take nice bus riders I only wanna pay $2.75 & not $20 dollars, please have drivers on N20 speed up to Hicksville so us passengers can make next bus connection. Thank u
  14. You are correct the bus should wait by the railroad with his doors open not some cab that is going to charge you manhattan prices of $8 dollars then plus you have to tip the cabbie one dollar. Cabs rates should be related like bus fares at $2.75
  15. What's going on with the destination signs lately, most of them are blank & not working, & last night I saw a bus almost have a accident with a guy on a bike on Sanford ave.
  16. Famous lover, would you know when nice bus will have a gps bus time like mta bus time? I would love to track the nice bus just like I do on mta.info
  17. On a nice bus or bee line bus & you pay with a 30 or 7 day unlimited metro card does nice bus or bee line get paid from the mta or is it a loss to the private company? I know when you pay with coins or cash metro card the nice bus or bee line keep 100% of that fare, just not sure with the unlimited since mta got paid in advance thanks
  18. My opinion; nice bus should be only $2 bucks a ride & they should have bus transfers say "nice bus" not mta anymore
  19. Taxi cabs are a big rip off on Long Island they pray on people who missed the bus or bus didn't show up there should be no reason why a taxi cab charges manhattan, off subject I think li needs more car free days & make nice bus free on car free day alsp
  20. Increase fare to $3.50? Long islanders can hardly afford the $2.75 fare now as it is, long islanders pay the highest property taxes in the ny region, this is why they can't afford anymore than the $2.75 when fare increased from $2.50 to $2.75 most long islanders had a choice between paying for a bus ride, or taking food off the table, or not being able to pay the property tax bill, I think bus fare for Long Island bus should be reduced to $2.50.
  21. Maybe nice should get there own farebox since they are a private bus system, nice should give it own paper transfers out but have mta accept them on the buses & trains.
  22. what would happen if nice bus removed mta fare box from it's buses? I'm sure we can pay with dollar bills or coins some other way
  23. Inside of bus is nasty dirty, smells like rotten eggs, empty fast food bags, cups, even beer cans & newspapers all over the floor, I'm just curious what am I paying $2.75 for?
