I came across this video on YT (Credit to CBS New York). At some point or another we've heard stories of how loud the NYC subway's are and can be. But what's your take on this...

Alright so here is a few changes I saw today while riding the between Mets willets and 74th street, 111 street is lacking on certain stuff, nothing new installed, just painting, while at 82nd street, new windscreens are being installed, they are the traditional ones seen on other renovated stations, something I found interesting is that the MTA hasn’t reused the fences on the outer part of the station like the or stations
That's too bad. I always felt that those type of fences/railings added some characteristics to the the elevated stations. Either way, it's good to see the Flushing line elevated stations are FINALLY getting fixed as time goes on.

R62 1471 has a diamond 3 signed up. Heading downtown towards 72nd Street as I type. Couldn't manage to get a picture in time, but my own eyes don't lie on this one.
What is up with all these random diamond signs showing up

Any news on the status of 4085-4089 or shall I say the wounded R211, that video still hunt's me lol.
Maybe new gearboxes or wheels? Just asking

Wow... that sounds unusual. Wonder what caused that wheel to sound like that, if indeed it is that.

Take into account, look how long it took for the pilot R211A to start it's revenue service from it's delivery dates in 2021. Almost 2 years. As stated before these cars come with new technological, operational and mechanical component features. Shop employees, transit crews have to learn the equipment and have a better understanding of the trains features and track movements going forward. It's all a matter of right timing and maintaining a close and consistent working relationship with Kawasaki railcar.

Doesn’t the rollsign change automatically when the code is put in?
No, the R46s have an end rollsign box like older SMEEs R40/R42, R62/A & R68/As etc. Therefore they have to be changed manually.

Why does it say on the tailing car?
It was probably a last minute thing, so maybe they forget to change the sign.

I've been wondering something regarding the two R211T currently in the system. If anybody has insight on if they are planning to test both of them into 30-day passenger service at the same time or just one of them?
Apologize if this has already been answered before but I was just curious.

Pitkin Yard has a Spotted Lantern Fly infestation… I’ve stomped on six so far in the last three hours and there are dozens lying around dead
Lol That's pretty much in alot of areas around the city. I've stomped on at least 15 or so myself this past summer alone. One even decided to hop on the train ON me on Monday lol.

When the R62A's where built in the 1980s they supplied them with only one AC unit compressor as oppose to two like on the other car fleets. This was obviously a design flaw that to this day (especially during hotter months) we continue to be aware off. Also it doesn't help much when the HVAC units on an older fleet like R62As are located under the train itself, therefore exposed to severe overheated temps and steel dust.
The did put out a video on YT a few years back explaining the nature of this situation with the R62As.

Well..from what I heard 4089 caught the bug.
Supposedly one of the cars on 4085-4089 set suffered the fate from the ongoing vandalism, busted window.
What's next...

Regardless of the train model, these type of actions are really uncalled for and should not happen. Therefore hard working commuters now have to suffer the brunt if this? It's undeniably ridiculous and PATHETIC. SMH
If this was caused hypothetically by some type of "hate group" for the older subway cars, the words GET A REAL LIFE come to mind. Stop making it harder for other people for stupid unjustified nonsense.

Alright.... so I guess I'll be the good messenger boy and try to put things into perspective.
YES, today (R211 4090-4094) has been delivered and at SBK. I know cause I actually saw a pic of it, unless its a really good photoshop. No I won't share the pic cause it's not mine. (R211 4110-4114) were delivered earlier this week so those could be at Coney by now.
So now, that makes (50 R211A cars) and counting.
4060-64/65-4069
4070-74/75-4079
4080-84/85-4089
4090-94/95-40994110-4114
4120-4124
And of course 20 R211T & 5 R211S.
Let's keep this show rollin.
