    The video link above gives a full tour of the Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Plant oil Lincoln, NE were after the 25:10 mark, you'll see more R211 bodies that have been manufactured in the production assembly.     Maybe just maybe, the R142A/188 is just a shitty subway car:lol: I like them but they are easily the worst of the NTT car classes.

     

     

    BTW I don't think individual maintenance shops get to choose to have digital ads installed on their tech trains, I would imagine someone higher in the NYCT rankings makes those decisions. Some of the R143s also has those digital ads.

    Just to point out, seems like maybe Westchester finally decided on removing the LED cirlcle/diamond lights from the side signs. Theres a handfull of R62As on the (6) already without them.

    It was disappointing to have that intersection with someone in the same industry. She could have at least said something.

    I do sympathies with you, but try not to take it too personality. She probably was having an off day or something but as the old expression goes "don't bring your personal baggage to work with you" so I see your point of view. However we can't also forget that this is a BIG city with a lot of people all shapes and colors to deal with at certain times of the day.  Different attitudes and situations can come towards one person in charge of public area like a station agent, security officer or any customer service employee. Maybe she was in a prior situation that became negative for her. It probably wasn't her day and so coming in contact with too many people she probably needed some space, who knows.   We all have bad days every once in a while. But at the end of the day we live and let live.

    The sad thing is, SMEEs and where they should go has always been a touchy subject. In all honesty, I want the best for the (N)(Q)(W), but I do understand that the lines (CPW + 8th Ave) need it more. I put the (MTA) before my interests. 

    The sad thing, Astoria residents + Broadway riders are a bit…. Childish when it comes to this. No offense, but most of you guys are not thinking on the convenience side of things for the (MTA).

    What they don’t understand is, Coney is last priority for —ANY— types of New Tech Cars, as they don’t have any CBTC projects scheduled (Astoria would be the first). My assignments would be to try to make the IND full NTT before we even touch the BMT, as the IND is the main focus for CBTC right now.

    It’s not just the riders, though. The (MTA) is also held responsible for this. They’re not taking the appropriate measures to ensure support from Astoria. I have seen many people complain about wrong rollsigns, bad headways, and many more issues including Air Conditioners.

    In conclusion, both sides have to improve before we can have flexibility from Astoria riders/bway riders and less complaints to the MTA from these two parties. My take. Carry on.

    The best huh....... In that case, I want the best for the (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(A)(B)(C)(D)(E)(F)(G)(J)(L)(M) hell even the(SIR) sigh need I go on.

    I know what you mean in terms of the AC. Luckily with those trains I've never been in a hot R68/As car during the summer, however in the case with the R62As it's a different story. Alot of times I could not bare with the R62As lack of AC or even how dirty and disgusting they look on the (1) these days. I've lived by the (1) for majority of my life and I do say that its time for change. As of late the R62As have been a eyesore for me, but that being said I still ride'em for personal/professional purposes regardless.

    I do understand. But before a train model gets retired, the new model has to get all of it's testing cleared up and done right. As far as ASAP, that's up to them in trying to keep up with the schedule they have laid out to put a new train into service and retire a old train. I think maybe some of you people need to realize that CBTC will take a while before being implemented to the whole entire subway system. It's NOT overnight or something that can be done in 5 or 10 years. This type of technology component takes time and years to install and mechanically have everything working properly. NTT train models have to ensure communication with one another during passenger service on the road. We've seen the network meltdowns that have been happening throughout the Flushing and QB lines.

    It was 10 in the morning.

    Looking at queensboro plaza, there was a <7> in 7 minutes followed by the next (7) in 15 so I’m not sure why the <7> didn’t run local given the large gap in local service.

    Also on an unrelated note this is the 2nd day in a row catching the same r46 on the (N) (5598).

    It's stalking you. Be Aware lol. It's happened to me on the R62A's. There's been scenarios were I would end up getting the same train during a week or two.

    I second this, I've actually seen a electrical spark or two coming out of those from an R46 whenever the train does a sudden breaking out of a station after accelerating. Those things are NO JOKE.

  10. Ive been looking at some pics and videos on Instagram...... This is truly disgusting. I don't give rats ass what type of train model it was. Whether it was an R46 or R160 or a lambergine. The most important aspect of all are those innocent people young & old that don't deserve this act of violence.

    Why? Why this? Why do these things happen. I have my personal reasons as to why Ive lost faith in the current state of society. But this is too much. My thoughts and prayers or for those affected in this hot mess. My prayers are also for the rest of the transit community. Please be aware. Take care of your self and your loved ones. 🙏

    Here is the recent past report of the MTA NYC Subway car performance. R179 percent change went up and the R68A. 

    Hmm.... Think is safe to say the R179s are beginning to thrust into reliability. It's been over a year and a half since they were last pulled from service.
