  1. On the MTA Neighborhood Maps website (http://web.mta.info/maps/neighborhood_maps.htm), there's no map for Jackson Heights. Seems like a pretty strange omission to me, especially as Roosevelt Av-74 St even has its own WalkNYC map. Does anyone know why?
  2. Yep, definitely. I wonder how trains can terminate at Queensbridge and s can terminate at Kew Gardens. Looking at the track map, it looks like there aren't any relaying tracks east of either station. The notice doesn't say anything about the running local east of Forest Hills or the southbound running via 53rd Street to accommodate these spontaneous changes.
  3. Oh, I see. That bus bunching is also a huge problem on the Q38 that I take daily. If bus bunching is going to keep happening, the MTA should add articulated buses to the Q53. I know, it'll never happen without SBS, but that type of thing is a huge PITA for bus riders all around the city. At least the Q53 has a sister route that could help out during weekdays.
  4. The existing SIR convention is like the R46s. It works if you have four-car sets or if you have spare odd numbers for the 16 extra B cars. There are only 80 SIR cars though, so there should be plenty of spare numbers. We'll find out in a couple of years.
  5. I would extend Q52 to at least 74 St/Jackson Heights, just to mirror the Q53. Sometimes, the lines for the Q53 at 74 St are so long, it takes 3 buses to clear the line out.
