  1. Try callin dcaa to make sure u havent been taken out of the list i know few people thats happen too

I did call dcas & they said transit shows me as ineligible. However, my situation has been resolved. I will call transit on Monday to see what's going on.

  2. If anyone gets notified to report too Livingston for medical or final processing can you please post & let us know[/quot

Have u heard about the next class date for this exam? I dont think they callin anyone for medical anytime now bc last time i called they told me they had no class date for this exam as of yet...

Last time I called they said not sure when, but nothing for this month

  3. Oh trust me I know the feeling. I was call already but, had to think really hard if I wanted to go in with just a permit but man did I feel like I was ready.

I was called back in November but have to wait until the end of January because of an insurance lapse I had 3 yrs ago (it clears my abstract in the end of January) my list # is in the 1700s

  4. Good to know that they wont be having any classes until March. By then I will have my full CDL license. Maybe they will call me by then.

We all have our own unique situations. I already have my CDL. I wish they have a class ASAP so I can go in already lol.

I'm miserable at my current job right now. Oh well, patience is a virtue...

  5. At least two-three weeks in advance, inform your depot shop steward and you will likely tell the general dispatcher at your depot and you will be excused for that day (I believe you will receive run pay for this) unless it is your RDO (Regular Day Off) if you are still in 10 Day training, typically Monday - Friday or possibly line training again, typically a Monday - Friday schedule.

    Kool.. Thanks for the info

  6. Lol..imagine having been waiting for this test for almost 2 years only to find out that you're disqualified because you don't have a stupid driver license (something previous tests didn't require). That's another 15-16 years for the next opportunity to get to schoolcar. It's insanity I tell ye :(

Dude you should of got your license when you were first eligible.

Got my permit when I was 16 yrs old & license at 17. This was 15yrs ago.

At that age, first thing you do is get your license lol...

  7. Honestly, to my knowledge, if you're on the list for both Track Worker (3600) and Bus Operator (4600), then you might have an advantage. Here's why:

Obviously, you need a Class B to drive the bus. However, once you get into track & have seniority, then one of the specialist jobs you can pick is a truck driving job, which can range from the single-unit trucks to the tractor trailers. Therefore, if you're able to get it, I would take advantage of it...

Thanks.. I'm only on the list for bus operator (4600)

  8. Is there any advantages of having a class A license once employed by MTA?

Asking because my job is offering free CDL classes for class A & B. So I'm considering taking this offer since it's free.

I already have my class B with all needed endorsements
