  1. Quick question. I already have my CDL, class B with A3 exemption. I recently got a tentative job offer with a private company & they paid to do the DOT physical (quick note, I don't need a CDL for this company, just a regular license) Should I go to DMV to amend my license or leave it with A3 exemption?

  2. They actually cancelled it a while ago....from what I heard, they're expecting another large turnout, and they can't find a school in which they can administer the exam too...

They can always space it out for a few weekends like they are doing with the conductors exam.

At $60 plus dollars multiplied by tens of thousands that will take the exam, the mta can make a quick buck..

  3. I had a fender bender on 12/20/2015 where no police report was filed so Geico paid for my damages as well as the other party's.  I ran by abstract and it showed up.  Does this disqualify my from the position.  I was told by Geico that it wouldn't appear on the abstract since there was no report.  Is there a way to have it removed?

BTW I did work as an operator for two year with MABSTOA back in 99-2000 and resigned with no violations or incidents.

You can try & plead your case by calling DMV and speaking with Driver Improvement Unit, 518-474-0774..

If successful they should be able to get it removed.. If not, then it will still show on your abstract.

  4. He is very knowledgeable and that is gladly appreciated but is all about respect and is the second unnecesary comment he makes .. Not getting emotional just clearin things up treat people with respect if u want to be respected thats all i got to say...

I understand where you're coming from... We will all know when the next batch of letter get sent out when everyone else on this forum starts posting it.. Good luck to everyone

  5. All u had to do was not answering.. Simple as that...

I have to agree with @YoungNYCsubwayfan.. Like I said before, patience is a virtue. We will all get called eventually. Just hang in there

Btw @young is very knowledgeable in the hiring process & gives us good inside information, no need to get emotional because of what he said

  6. Red hook Brooklyn. I live in maspeth but this school in Brooklyn was able to get me the fastest road test so I went with them.

I did mines in Maspeth. Here are some tips I can give you,

Make sure you call every hazard, from every overpass, vehicles double parked, cars cutting you off etc.

When getting off the highway make sure you slow down. Don't just look straight, keep observing you surroundings & mirrors

Your driving school probably told you this, but before reversing the bus to park, turn bus off, take keys with you & let the inspector know that you're going to do a physical check of the rear of the bus. I was told if you don't do that that's an automatic failure.

  7. Did you pass on your first try? I signed up for 6 one hour lessons. U think that's enough? The YouTube videos that psyhcoles and nycsubwayfan showed us really help. I have been watching them like 5-10 times a day. I am going for my 3rd and 4th lesson Saturday and 5th and 6th lesson Sunday. Hopefully that will be enough, my road test is on the 30th

Where are you having your road test?

  8. Why are so many people very impatient about when they will be called? Just know that you will get called eventually & while you wait get everything ready like documents, CDL etc.. Not trying to sound negative, just being realistic... Remember people, Patience is a Virtue...

  9. First, check into whether or not it is or it is not on your abstract. Second, make sure you have all of the paperwork related to this.

If you're prepared - you'll probably be good to go. If not, be prepared to be placed on hold.

Thanks for the response Young.. It does show on my abstract, happened 3 yrs ago. And I do have the court disposition showing it got dismissed
