  1. Lol. Lucky he didn't go in and rob McDonald's and then use you as the get away driver lol. Did you wind up passing or was he pissed his fries were too salty?
  2. I don't know if I can post that here. Private Message me.
  3. Yep I agree. I think it's has to do with a combo of both the examiner you have and also the way the examiner feels about your driving skills. I really think the examiner can tell within 30 seconds if you can drive or not. If you mess up a little on the railroad crossing but the examiner feels you can drive maybe that's why they only took 15 off instead of auto fail. I don't know just my analogy, I could be mistaken lol.
  4. youngnycsubway. Yea I heard Red Hook was easier then Maspeth as well. The funny thing is I grew up in Maspeth and my mother still lives there lol. To be honest tho I really think it's all about the inspector, no matter where you take it. If you get an inspector that's fair or an inspector in a good mood you have a better shot then if you get one on a bad mood, no mater where you take it. I honestly feel for the most part that the inspectors can tell within 60 seconds of the person driving if they are going to pass them or fail them.
  5. Thanks guys! It was pretty easy. I had a fair DMV inspector. I got 15 points taken off. Forgot something on the pre trip. The part where u ask him to help you check if your signals, master light and brake light are working, where he is outside while you do the brake, signal and master light test. other then that was smooth sailing. I did mess up a tiny bit on my parallel park as I parked a tiny bit too far from the curb, all tho I did that on purpose as I would rather have been to far then hitting the curb. He asked me if I wanted to do it again I said sure ( make sure u again secure the vehicle, take the key and physically inspect outside again, even tho I was doing the parallel park again from the same spot you still have to re check outside the back of the bus). 2nd parallel park was right on point. There was no railroad to go over in red hook so he just asked me if this corner was a railroad what would you do, i did not have to actually do it as he just wanted to make sure I knew what I was supposed to do. All in all he was a good and fair inspector. I did use a school, a place called NYC CDL Auto Club, it's out of Sheepshead Bay Bk. I am from Queens but I used them cause they were able to get me a road test date in 12 days from he date I called them which was awesome.
  6. Took my cdl road test in Red Hook earlier today. Thankfully I passed. Thanks to all the people here who gave me good advice about the road test. Much appreciated.
  7. Yo0910. Ah cool so your like me no experience driving the bus or truck. Cool. Thanks man, gonna go with the old mind frame if Yo0910 can do it, then I can do it lol. Thanks to all who replied as well with tips and advice, much appreciated.
  8. Yo0910. When you passed the road test with the 4 lessons, did you have prior experience at all with driving a com medical vehicle such as a bus? Or was that your first time driving a bus
  9. Nah no 2nd wave yet. I am 21x. I would be on top of the second wave and haven't gotten anything yet.
  10. Yea I heard the same. All 6 steps of the air brakes must be done. Thanks for the heads up guys.
  11. Yea same thing with me. First lesson I was nervous and getting used to the big steering wheel and the air brakes. The 2nd lesson was cake and driving was a breeze. The part that has me worried is the stuff you mentioned, the pre trip inspection stuff, and the air brakes test, all tho that is a bit easier to remember then the pre trip inspection. Hopefully I'll get it down pat, have 2 two hour lessons Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for the advice man.
  12. Nice. Good job yo0910. I live in Maspeth lol. I am taking my road test in Red Hook, Brooklyn tho. Your 4 lessons were they 1 hour each lesson or 1 and a half hours?
  13. Yea. This Saturday and Sunday I actually have 2 two hour lessons. Hopefully that does the trick. Thanks nycsubway
  14. Red hook Brooklyn. I live in maspeth but this school in Brooklyn was able to get me the fastest road test so I went with them.
  15. Did you pass on your first try? I signed up for 6 one hour lessons. U think that's enough? The YouTube videos that psyhcoles and nycsubwayfan showed us really help. I have been watching them like 5-10 times a day. I am going for my 3rd and 4th lesson Saturday and 5th and 6th lesson Sunday. Hopefully that will be enough, my road test is on the 30th
  16. Yea. I meant like how many driving lessons. Studying outside of the driving lessons I have been doing as well
  17. Hey nycsubway. Was just curious how long it usually takes to memorize the pre trip inspection stuff and the air brakes tests. As far as how many lessons it usually takes for it to sink in.
  18. Hey physcoles. I just sent u a private message. Let me know if you got it. So I know if I am doing it right lol.
  19. Has anyone here recently taken to cdl B road test? Or does anyone remember their road test if they took it a while ago?
  20. Just want to make sure. 4 points on your license if the maximum you are allowed for this position? If you have 4 your good right?
  21. I know with ged u can go up to Albany and get them same day lol. Not sure about degrees tho
