either move to bx for a div or transfer to the b div
-
i guarantee it. There's upcoming promotion exams for dispatcher and supervisor so a lot of train ops will be moving up.
-
pretty sure this list will go into the 8000s at the very least. We're still very short on people
-
oooh you're in for a treat, especially if you work the

no guarantee about that. Maybe 75% of the time report locations will be convenient

Tour/RDOs don't change from week to week, more like pick to pick (roughly half a year) and even then it's a maybe because you're also moving up on the XX seniority list. Consequently, you're most likely to request the tour or days off you want with the preference sheet. I was XX for 2 years and my tour/RDOs never changed on a weekly basis. I also happened to fall back to the bottom of the XX seniority list after losing a temp. bid and even then, I stayed on the same tour and RDOs. So in this regard, it's not that brutal. However, what is brutal are the random start/finish times and random start/finish locations. The only thing that fluctuates on a weekly basis are the amount of hours you work. XX can randomly expect 40-60 hours per week.

a lot of wise guys

i would stay, you won't see summer off until another 15+ years. And at this time, conductors are moving up very slowly. I have friends who started almost 4 years ago, basically the beginning of this list and they still can't pick anything and are on extra extra list. You'd have to work 5 years for top pay as a conductor and it'd take 10 years to be vested at 50%.

If this list gets extended another 4 years to 2026, they can call people as far as the 6-7k... I spoke to someone who took the 2009 test and was hired in 2016-2017, his number was somewhere in the 6000s.

can't believe I'd be one to say this (with only 33 months), but we need bodies down here bad
-
it's kinda stupid to use the 1 in 3 rule now since we're so short on crews. TA needs to hire anyone they can get

Just got the email canvas for due date of June 28th, list # 29xx
-
nah, it's a waste of money
-
Wow, 3 month gap from May? Those are probably gonna be big classes?
-
Well i just got drafted to work trains so 1 less revenue service operator on the road depending on how much capital construction TA wants to accomplish.
-
don't worry about that, everyone gets the same thing. There is no requirement. The only thing they want you to do is to carry it by hand when crossing tracks. I used a sports duffle bag and I had the strictest by the books instructors.

Transit electrical helper exam 8611 results
nipaaaa replied to tprashad0719's topic in Transit Employment
I suggest you update your resume and submit it along with a contact number for the electrician whom you have worked with. -
You'll learn that nothing makes any sense in the MTA, especially in Rapid transit ops. Nothing, zilch. Things that should be...are never be.
-
oh, are they now? Last I heard they were struggling to road post cuz no one wanted to take students
-
that's probably one of the 2019 summer classes (june, july,or august) that got stuck in limbo and couldn't go road posting because of the pandemic. They got stuck working in yards and in stations for like 3 months I believe
