  1. @Dred I did as good as you on the written exam, but also found the OPA very difficult (note: I am an English & Spanish speaker). But to scream lawsuit just because an agency wants people with the best speaking/understanding skills and great memory is kind of absurd. I am certain they don't care about your age, race, or gender. It would be like a bunch of people who only speak English suing a company because they prefer to hire bilingual people.

I don't think if you are the right person for the job, you should want this job anyways. There are plenty of MTA/city jobs out there. I do hope you get a job with the city soon . Best of luck.

@Bmpo7, will the list be posted on the MTA website?

I know these official hiring lists used to be (still are?) posted in The Chief, but you need a subscription to view anything in The Chief.

That much I didn't ask. I e-mailed them early 2017 and also last week, and both times they told me notice of result letters will be mailed out this spring.

  3. Could it be that not everyone gets called for the OPA initially until they are close to getting called (maybe 1 year before or so)? Just curious if anyone knows. I doubt all 33,000 people who took the first exam will get called for an OPA. And there seems to be a correlation here between the scores and whether or not people received a letter. Again, just wondering for anyone who knows.

Question for those who went approximately how many people were there in line to take the OPA when you went? Did they people have to wait or was it all just one group?

I would say around 30. The listening/memorization portion was everyone together. The second part were called individually to sit in a room.

  5. I also took my OPA today, and as someone who scored 2 wrong on my test, I also found the memory portion surprisingly difficult. Not too sure what they were scoring in the 2nd part of the exam, but assuming you aced it, should be allowed to get 6 or 7 wrong in the memory portion. I am confident most of you passed.

Of course, I was under the impression that as long as you pass the OPA, your OPA score would not affect your list number. Can anyone in the MTA confirm this?

  6. I emailed them today asking them when my protest date was. They replied:

"We have been allowing people to protest for any session, we may need a couple minutes to find a test booklet for you."

"We have 2 more protest session tomorrow (fri 7/14) at 10AM and 1:30 PM, which is the only way for you to look at the test booklets. Otherwise, you can print out the attached form and describe why you think there is a problem with the way the question is written. The Protest is at 180 Livingston Street, 4th floor, Brooklyn NY, 11201. Mail it to the above address and add MTA Exams Protest 6601."

Anyone can show up today at 10 AM and 1:30 PM.

  7. I am going tomorrow. Your answers don't get changed at the session, and apparently you are never notified about what happened as a result of your protest. All that you will ever know is whether the % you got right on your answer key is the same as the one on the official list. If your score is higher than what it is now, then some wrong answers got tossed. I hope to have at least three or more tossed and perhaps all six.

Is tomorrow the protest session for ALL exams or only a specific one?

  8. I know that there's a huge difference in the amount of people that took those exams the point I was trying to get across was that it's possible to have up to 4 wrong and score within the top 2000 range, that's all. I just don't like to see people freaking out over nothing.

I get that you're not trying to be harsh and I'm not trying to start a fight with you.

I was happy as hell when I saw that I only got one wrong. :D  Goodluck to everyone and file for the Train Operator exam. (if you qualify)

@ Bmpo7: No, there wasn't any residency credits unfortunately.

So we can assume the highest score on this list will be 100?

  9. For the DSNY one take note that an incredible amount of people took this exam and the reason why you see the extra high scores like 105 is because of the residency credit. 5 extra points were added. There were people who had a question or two wrong that scored within the top 2000.

And here's the link for the Conductor, people with 4 wrong were in the top 2000.

If a moderator instructs us to do so I will, otherwise there's nothing wrong with giving comparisons to give an idea.

Thank you! And I agree, nothing wrong with comparing both exams.

Question: Will residency be used for this exam as well?

  10. Can we please stop comparing this exam to exam #8091 or what ever the number was... The list was also extended. That is a bad reference to use. The amount of people who took this exam compared to that one is nearly tripled.

How many people took this test compared to the last one? And how do you know how many?

  11. There's people with two or three wrong that are in the top 2000 scorers on the last DSNY exam. There's people with 4 wrong that were in the top 2000 scorers on the last Conductor exam.

    You're being overly pessimistic.

I'm not. I'm referring to people who are saying people with 3 wrong have no hope.

Also, where can I see the list for both of those exams you are referring to?

  12. Look at the 8094 thread to get somewhat of an idea. I think about 14k people either took or passed that test.

How many questions did you get wrong on 6601?

I got 2 questions wrong (so that's a 97.50). From reading this thread I have no hope of getting called.

  13. Did Anybody go to the protest for 4/9 pm test? Did anybody get their answers changed? What answers did u get wrong?[/quote

It's weird I did my test the same day and it says I only got 24 right but for April 10 pm test I would of gotten only 5 wrong I'm so confused

At what time did you take it? You sure you didn't take it in the afternoon? I took the test for April 10 in the afternoon.

  14. i took the test on 5/22 PM and the protest day for that is july 14 1:30-3:30 PM..i got 3 wrong, I'm so pissed the ones i thought i got wrong i got right and vice versa...i doubt I'm going to get called...there goes that.

Just curious, how many people do you think got 100 on it? Seems like most people here think only the people who got 0 or 1 wrong will get called... Worries me a bit.
