Deff. Its helpful that we can bring our own composite/steeltoe shoes/boots. I have a wide foot and the nly brand that seems to fit is new balance.

Does anyone know if there will be a July class? I have a feeling June class will be booked before I get called to clear my medical hold.

Ive seen some train operators wearing sneakers when operating the train. So does this mean boots are only required in the train yards?

I took medical but I'm on medical hold for now. If I can't get it fixed before the 90 I know I have to do pre-employment again but do I also have to do full medical again too?

How long does it take for the drug test to expire?

Im on medical hold which is okay because we have a trip planned next week that we couldnt cancel. I should be in Junes class.

Not necessarily. I live in Metopolitan ave by the M. If I had to go to a Bronx train yard at night it would easily take me 2 hrs by train.

Thank you for this. I was wondering what you would do in this situation. I'm not in class yet but I live 2+ hours from the numbered stations so now I know how to handle it.

I agree with you and I always felt they had no choice but the sooner they actually announce that the better for all of us. I should have been in May 15th class. On medical hold so prob wont get in until June or July.

So once you're out of school car you dont do anymore yard work? Just driving passengers back and forth?

I'm in the same boat. Im right by last stop on the M train. Hoping I can get B division. I don't drive so to get to the Pelham for example would be 2 hrs and multiple trains.

Just received a conditional offer email for May 16 class. They want me to come in Thrsday at 10. Unfortunately I need documents from my drs that I cant get by then. Is there someone I can talk to about being put on medical hold so I dont waste a day of sick time to go there?

When you are on XX can they force you to take an extra shift? If the second day you start at 430 but they make you stay an extra shift so you leave 830 would they push your third day hours back?

I went March 25th for pre-employment. They told me they don't know when the next class will be but chances are I'll have to do another pre-employment.

What exactly is sick control? Is that an absence with no dr note? I'm in a union job now where we can call out up to 3 days straight with no note required. Also I'm assuming if you call out sick when you're new that you don't get paid?
