  1. Alright, try now. Geez, google updated their stuff.
  2. I'm going to backtrack this conversation a bit and show a map on what I'd do with the QT3 and QT54: https://www.google.com/maps/d/drive?state={"ids"%3A["1b7S5IJUnDRoSOJ5HvAI2p2wBkilfYtti"]%2C"action"%3A"open"%2C"userId"%3A"100937021591459487801"}&usp=sharing
  3. hmmm. Since we're on the topic of Second Avenue, this method (from an operational standpoint) would maximize everything. Someone brought up having a tunnel diverge from 3rd Avenue onto 72nd Street, this is what I envision: - Harlem-125th Street (with Bronx Provisions), to Brooklyn via 3rd and 2nd Avenues: Harlem-125th Street (with Bronx Provisions) MNRR, M60+ Lexington Avenue-63rd Street [Eliminates the need of a Lex 59-63rd Transfer IMO 53rd Street (Transfer to the and , maybe a line if we do something about Queens) 42nd Street LIRR, MNRR [Swing to 2nd Avenue at 37th Street] 23rd Street 14th Street M14A/D+ Houston Street Grand Street [Takes over the and in south Brooklyn. These 2 routes are rerouted to WIlliamsburg] , or - Flushing-Main Street to Broad Street. Flushing-Main Street LIRR 108th Street Junction Blvd 80th Street 71st Street Broadway (Transfer to the and ) 48th Street [Swings under 36th Avenue] Steinway Street 31st Street [ Transfer to the or at 36th Street] 21st Street [Maybe] Roosevelt Island Bridge 2nd Avenue ( transfer at 72nd Street) (Same Stops as the between 63rd Street and Grand Street] Cantham Square [Swings under Park Row afterwards] Fulton Center [Replaces the line] Broad Street [possible Brooklyn Extension] I'll make an expansion map later conveying my ideas.
  4. Oh? I thought the scrapped the Sunnyside Station from East Side Access.
  5. There's a meme about the Sunnyside Station not happening? All I said is that there's no station present at Sunnyside, I never said that there will be no Sunnyside Station. I'll say that I didn't know that the MTA allocated some money into building a Sunnyside Station as part of Sunnyside Yards Redevelopment If you connect the RBB to QB, riders could take whatever local line goes there to Northern, 46th or Steinway for the Q58, Q66, Q101, Q102, Q104, etc.
  6. 1. My apologies. 2. In terms of transit connections within the Right of Way, both options would practically connect to the same buses and the Train within the vicinity of Howard Beach and Jackson Heights. Now when it comes to Western Queens, I'm going to disagree with you there. While the LIRR Option has the benefit of connecting to the , rest of the Mainline and the Port Washington Branch, it loses out on the fact that there is no Station Present along Sunnyside, thus not providing a connection to Western Queens (unless you transfer to the ). Also I'd argue that QBL has a better connection to Western Queens as Queens Plaza is not the only thing there. Court Square, Steinway, Northern Blvd, the Train. All of these areas within Western Queens are places where connections can be made (sure they're bus connections, but connections nonetheless).
  7. That’s what I’m seeing in your map. okay. It could. I just prefer the subway option over the LIRR option, that’s all.
  8. @Jova42R I'm not sure how I feel about some of these proposed routes of yours. - First off, I'd like to ask "How the hell are Regional Rail Trains going to make the loops presented in your map?" Cause I can't see any Regional Rail Train being able to do that. - Second, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on a Fort Hamilton Line. For the First Half of it, it imitates the Shuttle, then for the second half, it goes down Fort Hamilton Parkway and into NJ. Preferably, I'd like to see some SBS-type service or for the Franklin Shuttle to be extended to 9th Avenue via Fort Hamilton instead. - Third, I'd leave the high line alone. Its Better to extend the Train Up 10th Avenue. - As for a Crosstown Tunnel between Midtown and NJ, That idea ain't too shabby. Once again, My preference for an NY-NJ Crosstown line would be PATH. (Though, I'll have to look up PATH's History and previous proposals before I finally come up with any ideas for PATH) - Downtown Regional Route(S) I don't have any thoughts. - RBB. While I agree with @bobtehpanda's idea of making it part of some C Division Class, I don't think that the line would prevail as a regional line. I know that the main push for reactivating the line is to give people at JFK a one Seat ride, but If the built the LIRR going to JFK via RBB, you wouldn't really get a big bang for your buck especially if you're coming from any terminal other than Terminal 1 because you would still have to make a transfer if you came from any of the other terminals. Personally, I think that connecting RBB to the subway would be easier (given that you Remove certain bottlenecks here and there like Queens Plaza, 59th-Columbus, and DeKalb) because it'll better serve those within the borough of Queens (especially the Rockaways which If I'm not mistaken, are the biggest advocates for reactivating the RBB).
  9. If connecting SAS Phase 3 to Queens is the goal, then I think this is the best idea to connect SAS to Northern Blvd in Phases: - Study the feasibility of adding outer tracks at 36th Street. These outer tracks will lead to a Northern Blvd Subway and will end @ Main Street. Prior to the Introduction of SAS Phase 3, the should Serve as the Sole Northern Blvd Line. This (however) will force all Broadway service coming from 60th Street to run to Astoria, all 63rd Street Service to be Local and all 53rd Street Service to be Express. (Alternative 1: 30 EXP via 53rd, 20 , 10 LCL via 63rd) (Alternative 2: 15, 15 EXP via 53rd, 10 , 10 , 5 LCL via 63rd) https://www.google.com/maps/d/drive?state={"ids"%3A["1ONxFSkG5yiv_9hEwzy2rHnQ-m0h2bCbP"]%2C"action"%3A"open"%2C"userId"%3A"100937021591459487801"}&usp=sharing - Phase 3 should be built (with Chrystie Rearrangements). The 11th Street cut should be divorced from Broadway and connected to Phase 3 of SAS via new crosstown tunnels. From there, Chrystie is Re-Arranged, Select Jamaica Stops are consolidated, and done. rerouted to Jamaica/Myrtle. from Main Street to West End/Brighton via Second Avenue. 55th Street will be relocated to 53rd and will have 4 tracks instead of 2 in order to preserve a connection to 72nd. Service is re branded into the and will serve Essex-Bay Ridge. https://www.google.com/maps/d/drive?state={"ids"%3A["1nJwP1J8uYQtGmyoVUHFq0Rp-yl4c7Cyp"]%2C"action"%3A"open"%2C"userId"%3A"100937021591459487801"}&usp=sharing I think the goal here is to have SAS North ( the and ) to relieve Lexington North of 59th Street Station. Then SAS South can relieve pressure off Lexington by simplifying Queens Blvd and providing Williamsburg with extra midtown service.
  10. At this point, there’s no excuse to delay the 42nd Street Shuttle project
  11. Hmm, the conversation is getting interesting so I’m going to jump in. To say that NYC hasn’t built a 4 Track Line in over 50 years because it’s too expensive, or the political environment thwarts any chances of building one is one thing. To say that NYC hasn’t built a 4 Track Line because nowhere else in the world has built one is like following some sort of follower attitude of like: “Oh, they [any other city] haven’t built a 4 Track line in 50 years/At all. Why should we?” While it is currently unrealistic to build any line with 4 Tracks at the moment, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t build any 4 track lines at all. I personally don’t agree with the idea of building a 4 Track line along Jamaica Avenue. If anything, the should do what the IND did years back and build Phase 3 of SAS [and any other extension that could potentially be 4 tracks] in the same Manner that the IND built 6th Avenue. Start with 2 tracks and get the local stations out of the way, then come back and build the Express tracks later on.
  12. Just to understand the Q76's ridership basis better, are a majority of Q76 riders within the vicinity of Francis Lewis Blvd itself? I agree with you on the QT16 and QT65 (mainly due to the opposition of having a bus along 160th, though I'm not sure if the QT30 should be the route to serve Union/Parsons. Personally, I'd have the QT30 cover the entirety of 188th Street. I think should start like the current Q30 does in Jamaica, but divert to 188th up until Utopia Parkway/46th Avenue, then continue its proposed route to Flushing. So if you move the QT84 to 14th Avenue, then whats serving 20th Avenue?
  13. I noticed that too. There are a lot of numbers lacking in the 20's. I'd probably have it end at Fresh Pond Road coming from Jamaica Center.
  14. Yes, you are correct with this, though the one thing that I didn't mention is that I would have the QT2 go to Jackson Heights via 48th Street-Roosevelt Avenue so that both legs of the B24 would remain connected. I understand that the traffic on Van Dam usually consists of people getting on or off the LIE, but is it that there's no real demand for bus service on Van Dam that you wouldn't have anything run on Van Dam or no? Hmmm, seems like an odd place to terminate a bus in my point of view.
  15. If you don't mind, I'll answer this Question. For the Western End of Greenpoint Avenue, I'd prefer the Q69 to go there and terminate at the B24's current terminal. Then I'd have the B24 run from Jackson Heights to Williamsburg covering the entirety of Greenpoint.
  16. Hmph. And then they wonder why reliability is low. I'm not going to blame the lady who referred the subway as the "scumway" (heh heh) given the recent conditions that ... plagued it for the lack of a better term. ADA Reasons I can understand, though that comes at the fault of the who did not upgrade the system to ADA Standards..... Geez, this made me realize: what the heck is going on at 2 Broadway? Have leaders become so wrapped up to the point of trying to keep things budget neutral to the point where they can barely make any meaningful improvements? Not to mention any laws and policies that the City/State has passed that make any meaningful improvements/expansion more difficult and expensive. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With that aside, here's an idea may seem a little out there, but given a past discussion on this thread a few months ago, whereas Forest Hills Residents don't travel on the bus north/south of Queens Blvd (depending on the origin) once they reach 71st, Would it be a good idea to divert the QT3 to Forest Hills via Yellowstone? Northbound, I'm proposing that the QT3 diverts to Cooper-Yellowstone,turn on the QB Service lane to make another right turn to 70th Road, then Terminate at Austin Street. Southbound, - Buses will loop from 70th Road/Austin Street to Continental. Buses would make the stop that the Q23 does now, then loops back to Yellowstone via Queens Blvd.
  17. I had to read this a few times to understand it. So you're saying that the QT75 should go to Williamsburg Plaza in Place of the QT76. Via 48th Street/Avenue > Van Dam > Thompson > 44th Drive > 11th Street then continue to Brooklyn? Ehh, I can see this doing better than the QT1 and QT76 combined. (And it would better enhance Brooklyn-Queens Connections). But then where would the QT76 go?
  18. Well too bad for her. If adding the route is going to improve overall service and reliability, then so be it. The argument of opposing a transit proposal because one does not want to ride with “those” people (depending on the context) has always struck out to me as a weak excuse to not implement a proposal.
  19. I meant West. Wrote East out of confusion and my brain decided to go night -night. (Geez, I must've been half asleep for these past 2 days) Huh, I completely forgot that the Q102 helps those at the non ADA-Accessible Stations. Regarding that side note, my only reaction is "huh". Seems like this lady was opposed to having a bus run on Rikers Island while ignoring any benefits that it'll bring. Huh, how ironic. Its crazy how one person (or a few people) can be pretty vocal about something they don't like over a majority of people who have no problem with XYZ.
  20. I guess it’d be misallocation of resources. (I was half asleep throughout all of yesterday). Which something that I happen to notice a lot out of this map. Regarding the QT67, I agree with you on this, though I think Q110 section of the route should preserve the name. As for the Liberty Avenue Section I’d the route, I don’t know if I’d prefer for it to be a Ozone Park-Jamaica shuttle or to have it cover the entirety of Liberty and have it terminate at St. Albans or something. Geese, I didn’t even realize the level of duplication on QB between Forest Hills and Kew Gardens. The QT86 between QB and Cooper is fine because it’s running on Yellowstone. . (Though it’d be better if extended to Myrtle Avenue instead of the QT82). And while I understand the sentiment with what they did between Kew Gardens and Flushing, I do have to agree that the terminal choice is... strange. (At least you have the depot right there) It also makes the QT84 a strange route. The QT87 is a boondoggle and won’t help much of anyone. I remember reading on the Queens Bus Redesign Facebook Group that residents on 73rd Avenue (east of 188th) were opposed to having a bus there. IMO the QT87 needs to be revised completely. So what I’m getting from these 3 quotes are the following: Most Q32 riders get off at 59th Street. Implementing the QT75 would not help anyone (except for those in Sunnyside). The QT60 running to Hunters Point doesn’t make sense despite gaining a connection to the train. Yet, there’s not enough ridership to justify running it into Manhattan, so terminating it at Queensboro Plaza Or Court Square would be a better allocation of resources. Neighborhoods north of QBP won’t benefit from running the QT69 Down to Hunters Point via Vernon Blvd/48th Avenue/Center Blvd. LIC does get congested, but not at the level of QBP. What’d I suggest for this area would be the following: Run the QT60 up to 44th Drive then turn it up 23rd Street, then Queens Plaza South, then back via 27th Street. The QT1 and QT79 should swap, the QT1 should run up to Rikers via 21st Street and the QT79 should be the sole Vernon Blvd Route. Preferably, I wouldn’t have any bus route run under 31st Street as that just duplicates the and along Astoria. The QT69 could run into Greenpoint Avenue and Terminate there. The only routes I’d leave at Hunters Point are the QT66 and QT79. The QT75 should be revised to better serve Sunnyside, Woodside and Jackson Heights. As to how, I’m not sure yet.
  21. Wait a minute, that's a service cut! I guess that it would cost too much money to split the Q54, but then I see some sort of backwards logic here. The is proposing a few routes that in their currently proposed forms, won't financially help them as much such as the QT2 and QT87.
