It is not like the NYPD. I'm not 100% exactly sure what the medical is like for Conductor, but to give you a general "idea" of what it is (aka 90%), consider these links:

From B/O Thread 2613: Posts 2234 & 4880 (my apologies about the page numbers on post 4880 being incorrect; this was done before the software upgrade)

    From Track Worker 3600 Thread: Posts 307, 591, 606, 862, 1175, 1220, 1241, 1269 & 1667.

Again, this is a general idea (aka 90%), chances are they will be looking for something "specific" which I'm not 100% sure about.

Hope these links help answer your question.

Thanks. Hopefully we get our chance soon.

@123melvin, I don't see how we won't be next, as they've already processed the promotional conductors. Hopefully they keep hiring large numbers of conductors in each school car class.  If that's the case then we should have a chance to get hired in the next year or two.

I am hoping within the next few months we start to get letters for medical. Does anyone here know what the medical is like. Is it like the NYPD.

  3. Well the 8094 thread says that feb 2018 will be the last class from that list to be hired. I hope that means we will be next. It is said a girl got in that class from our list.  They also did mention they are calling people in at random not by list numbers. On their list people with higher scores were called way after the lower scores. They also did not have an OPA test....

FYI, someone on the 8094 thread just said that there's at least one person from the 6601 list in his school car class that started yesterday.

I guess that would be a provisional hire? I know Transit has been doing that for station agents, hiring and training them before the official list issues.

I guess he passed the OPA. He was probably one of the first to take it. The not knowing and waiting is just killing the rest of us.

    @Rahmel, thanks for the update.

It's very frustrating how long this has taken.

The only positive seems to be that the 6601 list should issue and they should start processing people from 6601 by spring of next year, 2018.

I wonder what date will be the final school car class for 8094. and the first school car class for 6601.

I'm also wondering how fast they'll be hiring off 6601, and how many people they'll be processing per month.

I guess it depends on how many of the 2000 people from 6601 passed the OPA.

It’s a possibility for those with 70s to be hired. The old list are still being hired with 70s. It took them about 8 years but they still being called in. So it’s still a possibility

It will take long. Over 37,000 took the test. The OPA is new and will eliminate alot of people. It is pass or fail. If you dont pass that you are out.

There is a pass/fail as a whole no grading they said.  The opa is ok but not when it’s almost 2 years down the line for another part of the exam. They should’ve done this the same year as the actual exam. This just delays the process.

You are right.  The delay was because they had to get through the old list that keeped getting extended for 8 yrs i think.

I heard the same. As late as April and as early as December. This process was stupid . We had to wait 18 months for another part of the exam , which isn’t right smfh!!!!

Yes. What makes it better. Is that this is the first time they are trying this opa. Which could be subjective because 1000 people would give 1000 answers for the same photos.

Took the opa for the conductor 6601. Does anyone know a timeframe? I’ve heard 3-5 different timeframes from Mta employees. If someone gets a letter for the next step please post!!!

I heard the same. A supervisor there told my group it could be until April before we hear anything for test results.

While I agree he is being repetitive. If he did in fact get only 3 wrong and no letter. I would go to information center and explain he is aware everyone who got 3 wrong or less has received a letter to take the opa.

Maybe a mistake was made or maybe he got more than 3 wrong. If only 2,200 or so got letters and he didn't other letters may not go out til next year. Maybe he isn't even on that list. If i were him I would be proactive. Just be nice and patient when going there. Explain you truly want the job.

Yes. We also have to take into acct. That questions on the original test were contested and thrown out too.  A supervisor there told us that people are not necessarily called by score.  The programthey have uses the last 4 of your SS#. She said someone with an 80 could get called before a person with a 95.

Those of you who got called in for OPA, are you from the promotional list or those who came in off tne street for the exam? If someone got 6 wrong off tne street, are they likely to get called for OPA?

I was not on the promotion list. Really can't count on how many answers wrong because some of the questions were thrown out. A supervisor told us. It the people are called by a complex algorithm that takes score, SS#, initials and sends letters based on that.

    Hello.

i heard if you cannot make it on your assigned OPA day, you can get it changed. Any thoughts on this? I was rear ended the morning of mine and had to get towed. Thus I didn’t make it. I tried emailing the exam unit several times. No one bothers to respond

I would go down there and ask at the info office on the first floor. Good luck.

Well I'm here now showed up at 6:40am 6:55am now for a 7:30am appearance and they haven't even opened the building doors yet lol. Will get back to you guys about my thoughts and experience when I come out all broken on the other side (Just a gag I'm extremely confident!)

Have to go for my OPA tomorrow at 2pm. Anyone else going or has taken it at 2 pm before. Let me know. Thinking about being there at 12. What do you all think?

So I emailed the mta exams place about the OPA that people didn't receive in the mail yet and this is what they told me...

"We are testing over 30,000 applicants.  Not everyone will be tested at the same time."

So it took over 3 yrs to grade 30,000. Tests. If they opa everyone, it is going to take 6yrs before anyone goes to the next step.
