From what I hear, (some) FB LFSA will go to GA to start service on the Q58 by next pick.

LFSA on Q58(next pick)??? I thought Q58 isn't artic ready(after moving from Fresh Pond Dept). I wish it has to get XDE60s, but that plan was eliminated

During my childhood I use to praise the RTS's especially when they started rolling out with the new blue cushions seats. I use to love the way the engine sounds as the operator accelerates. But now being on the other side sitting behind the wheels of the RTS's I change my mind lol........

Hands down on the B41 I try my best to pull out an XD especially dealing with walkers and wheelchairs passengers they are perfect to kneel and load. When its possible the yard dispatcher try their best to provide me an XD especially on the weekends. When I know I'm pulling out an XD my entire mood swing changes and I know I'm have a great day out there lol.

I used to hate RTS' since 2012 until early 2018. This is because I over exaggerate alot with their mechanical problems(ex. fires, wheelchair lift stuck, brake noises, etc.) and I hated their Series 50 engine I used to love most as a little boy. Since 2017, I was worried about their braking efforts whilst I was braking that bus at low speed, while others counter argued that these buses have such sharp brakes(I don't believe it, at that heavy duty design).  Those XD40s and other Xcelsiors rule NYC with a perfect value, which is why they became my most favorite bus(top of my list) since Q2 2016.

Nope they're not my favorite!.. I love the NF 7000's over anything right now.

I am an Xcelsior fan/op, they are my favorites too. The XN60s and the XDE40/60s are my most favorite Xcelsiors. I do like the RTS'(2nd favorite model), but my main ones are the 1990-91 TMC units with 6v92(w/V731) and trapoxidyzer( along with the Novabus 1997-99 units).

    You work out of Quill?

As a high school student at that?

That sounds a little farfetched...the last thing we need are fans pretending that they work for the MTA(and I can name a few that have done that right off the bat)...what do you do?

That was my uncle, he hired me as a supervisor apprentice

Anybody know why there's like 5-6 MJQ 40FT buses parked on 1st Ave near E27th street?

I work out of that depot. Just like my uncle said(co worker), we have those buses there to remind us what don't we want to pull in and for drivers to start the service quickly/drag them to a terminal, extra shifts. Or even leave them as spare buses in case of any bus break downs, that a supervisor have to bring another one after the broke down units gets towed. Every depot does the same too.

I hate when yall say "just wait" or "wait and see".  Stop being disrespectful it's a simple question, just say "it should be starting later this month if things go as scheduled".

I didn't mean it the rude way. I should've parenthesis"(no rude reply)" with the "just wait"

LOL "get to keep"....  Different Transit agencies/companies spec their buses however they want/need it seems, the (MTA) decided to stop using aluminiums for w/e reason....  I guess they couldn't be bothered to keep them clean. Of course, NICE bus is no better in this regard.

I also found out the tires cannot get hot and burst with those alcoas.

Be VERY CAREFUL in that area. There’s a strict no peeping thru the facility. That’s good news that the XD60 option delivery is about to commence.

You remind me of last summer about me willing to sneek peak at the facility, which i didn't know it was illegal. Especially that I am an MTA worker, but that may cause the termination of my job. Even one of my YT subs, would report me to the MTA in order for me not to leak the surprise buses. Thanks for the advice though😉.

Yeah the 2015 Transmissions are the absolute worse. Thank MTA for those dumb ass specs they tuned the LBSS with. Many of them are being tuned again and are starting the run better. The best XD40’ are the 4800’s and the new 2018/2019.

The new ones are rockets, but 4830 and 38 have to be the fasted XD40’s in the city. I don’t what the hell EN did to those two buses but I almost lost my mind in the B15 a couple days ago. On the XN60 side 1073 seems to be faster. The take-off is absolutely insane!

Oh plz!!! As an Xcelsior fan, the combination in that 2014-15 XD40s batch are so much better for less pollution and it felt like a race car. I know many officials despise them due to how quiet they are. The 4800s combinations are excellent too, but some slight features I dislike(e.g. half pane rear doors). Yes, the 2 units out of the 4830s range you've mentioned are powerful, I rode them before. I still love the the recent XD40s(2018-19) alot better than 2011,2014-15 XD40s. They are so robotic in their performance. My very first unit of them I rode was #7623(FB unit, B46 +SBS) in May 23, 2018, it was amazing.  In December 2018, I also have operated my first 2 recent XD40s(after they were just delivered in MJQ) which were #7573 and #7585. When I acelerated them, the speed was swift and fiesty as I wanted and each time I did that(I had them NIS) was around 7 - 8a.m. along 12th ave(Manhattan). With #1073, it should be the most popular unit with the XN60s.

I already know the 2014-15 XD40s(my favorite Xcelsiors) are your wost favorites as you have mention in my topic..."Which buses of NYCT/MaBSTOA is more popular ?"

Speaking of the B35, yes they seem to be in much better hands in Brooklyn. Also noting that I don’t remember seeing alternate specs on the XN60’s. Has anyone been on 1073??? Check these seats out.

Yep, I've been in that unit before. The last time was 01/26/19 and I knew it was the only unit to feature those Gen 2 Gemini seats(more complex than the XD40s seats).

Grand avenue is artic ready but no route is being planned for implementation right now. I think the MTA should try and give XDE60s a chance but it looks like the XE60s will be a go since well be seeing our first ones the end of the year for an extensive testing trial.

I'm hoping for XE60s to come Quill. I want to see and watch how that plays out.

a shame the MTA scrap plans to buy XDE60s. The MTA should focus on being more alternative fuel than just going all electric. In my opinion.

This is why I'm creating another fantasy roster vid for YT to show the MTA solution to still give the XDE60s. I don't play about those buses, they are important. Grand Ave is being accommodated for artics, so they should receive these XDE60s for LCL or +SBS.

Rode an XDE40 on the B47 and its probably one of my new favorite buses to ride on. I love how dim it seems inside and on top of that the front lights by the ada seats slowly dims down when the doors close.

I also rode #9500 this evening on the B47 too with my mother on our way to Radiology on Mill Ave/Ralph Ave. And my most favorite thing of this bus along with the others equipped with a different transmission, was the engine automatically shut off, so that I cannot be waken up with the vibration at a stop light/bus stop. This was my very first time riding XDE40s in my young hood, before I always record 2-3 units in action along that route(first time was late August). The XDE40/60s are best tied with the XN60s(said by an Xcelsior fan).
