Honestly, MTA did have to retire the RTS at some point regardless of how long they could last, but what they should've done was keep at least half or one-third of the RTS in service until the XD40 and LFS orders were completed. That way, we wouldn't have had to worry about any shortages, and the additional RTS could've been used as storage in case of an emergency.

Plus it's not like every single neighborhood complained about them. ENY and Brownsville were the only neighborhoods mainly complaining. The rest of the neighborhoods weren't complaining a lot, and even if they did, complaints there were in the minority. And besides, they were the best buses that could hold up at such a long lifespan. There were other buses that were in much worse condition than the RTS at even just 15-16 years of age.

See here's the thing(it may be off topic), in my native coast, Haiti🇭🇹, it's a culture that was claimed to be the poorest(untrue, it some parts of it) where we mostly have japanese cars from 20th century generation(also Cuba🇨🇺 with '50s and '60s cars) and it's too symbolize how grateful we are to have equipments on wheels(we don't beg for new cars). It should relate to these neighborhoods of Brooklyn, should deal with RTS' on the streets until the end of 2019(same as what my youtuber is coming from), so that they may not have to deal with shortages. But that's because they don't want to suffer increase of times from high produced pollutions and ear piercing noises(almost like the Orion VII OG CNGs), which is how I used to hate all RTS' from the time I was 9 until the time I was 14(reliked them after watching reviews and hearing loads of thoughts about these buses). Especially, the 10 yr old Orion VII NGs(quantity: 100+) out of Flatbush Depot may not be a big deal to help us add service out of that depot(like the RTS' from back then and the Xcelsiors from 2015 as what others brought up before I said it). So, the MTA and DOB should've thought 2x for more XD40s to come from the plant, helping replace RTS' before any depot's shortage.

They are currently slated to get 40 of the new XD40s coming in, and are also in line for the next order of 275 diesel-electric hybrid buses.

At first, I thought UP was not getting XDE40s because they have never got hybrids in a long time. Until 2 days ago, the NG HEVs came for them from FP and now they seem ready for the XDE40s. Oh and the OG HEVs from ENY, I almost forgot

I agree with you, @MysteriousBtrain because I see the same numbers being on here over & over. One time and that’s it. There should be no more questions of who gets what. If the DOB decides to put where buses are needed, that particular depot gets that type of bus. Not because “someone” is hungry for that type of model to ride around the local area. I wait to see that bus come my way whenever new buses get delivered. Prediction does not always work in that person’s favor.

Just be grateful for the buses you have, no matter how they aged. Like Orion VII NGs at FB, are now 10 years + and I'm grateful for them. Not because their hybrids, but there is at least 100 of them now to help add service like the Xcelsiors.

B91 and B92 buses barely have any passengers riding either one of those buses. I saw a lot of empty buses and one bus with one passenger on it.

Like my video I posted, I was the only person on that bus. But we had a white woman riding it, that made 2 of us until she got off at the next stop when the GA dispatcher got on to advise. Then, I was the only person again until I got off at the terminal I took off at

Any Xcelsior except for the XN40 and XN60 can fit through the Transverse so that's not an issue.

I will be so scared seeing CNG Xcelsiors through tunnels. They are most special buses and I'm not gonna listen to news about them exploding by either stratching or crushing tanks through short tunnels.

Now, let's get back to delivery and transfers

You haven’t been paying attention to the recent news this week on Staten Island.

This is because I don't live in SI(also don't care about it), though I like it. I was more concern with Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.

I don't believe everything I see on Youtube but can someone confirm this information... "UPDATE: Fleet numbers just changed. The XE60s (ALL 15 expected to arrive soon) will now be numbered 1110-1124 and no longer 4950-4964." found in the comment section of this video...

That pinned comment was taken down, another person commented as an edit, and it was pinned.

You may complain about buses being 10 years old, but folks in jackson heights, and jamaica are riding buses that are 12-14 years old.

Go ahead tell them, I like that fact🙏👍😊. This also reminds me of RTS' fleets, like for example when it was 2010 or earlier, ENY(also most depots) still have most RTS' that are at least 10 years old. Since I immigrated to USA in 2007, I could already tell that most RTS' they had(past TMC & Novas) are at least 10 years old and I like it that way. So as of this year, I will always get used to the Next Gens at FB(unlike most fans and employees) because they are one of the best hybrids that used to be my most favs until the time I was turning 13 in early 2016(still like them today). But that's not the point, no matter how old the buses are, it makes me grateful that we have enough buses to make better service for us. Just like others protesting RTS' this year, I know it's boring but just get used to it you know. This is also why my Youtube channel is educative for transit fans, relating to "older buses here, still helps".
