  1.  Based on the buses I rode on per depot:

    Bronx:

Kingsbridge (Okay maintenance), Gun Hill (Good maintenance on 8730 when ridden in January 2021, but I don't know the rest of the fleet), West Farms (Mid maintenance), Eastchester (Questionable maintenance), and Yonkers (Alright maintenance).

    Manhattan:

Tuskegee Airmen (Mid maintenance), Mother Clara Hale (Good maintenance), Manhattanville (Great maintenance), and Michael J. Quill (Best maintenance).

    Brooklyn:

East New York, Fresh Pond, Flatbush, Grand Avenue, Spring Creek, and Jackie Gleason (Great maintenance). Ulmer Park (Alright maintenance)

    Queens:

College Point, Queens Village, and Casey Stengel (Good maintenance). Far Rockaway, JFK, LaGuardia, and Baisley Park (Okay maintenance). I have yet to ride on Jamaica's fleet.

The Staten Island depots also have great maintenance.

  2. Since 2020, I decided to go on almost all of the bus fleet, from 2004-onwards. With everything I went through throughout these two years as a busfanner, I wanted to know on which bus depot maintains their fleet best? The best one for example I went on, would be Jackie Gleason. The worst example would be West Farms (1042 has a moderate dent on the back of the streamline).

How do you know that there isn't a shortage? Unlike with the express, the (MTA) generally has not been posting cancellations on the local bus side. I've insisted that they post the express cancellations and generally they do, with the exception of Staten Island since there is so much service and so few people available. I know for a fact it has happened because I have called myself transferring from the express to a local line in Manhattan and not getting a bus and either grabbing an Uber or just walking if it wasn't a long distance. Bus service has really turned into garbage in this City in general.

I checked the (MTA)website, and they didn't post anything about waiting longer for a bus.

  4. Today was completely frustrating. I was waiting for the M15 Local to South Ferry since 7:30AM, and the bus finally came at 7:57AM. According to one passenger that talked to me, she said that she was waiting for the bus as well, and was happening every day. Usually, the M15 would show up between 7:30-7:35AM at the stop, but now I've noticed that the bus arrives after 7:35AM, usually 5-10 minutes late. I don't know whether it's the B/O's that don't care about the schedule, or that there was a shortage (I checked, and there was no shortage). I submitted my complaint about this issue.

It's the Mill Basin trip, with ONE photo of Mill Basin? lol

I know. I didn't get a chance to take some photos around there because of lack of buses at that time. I'm only doing this because I'm observing some equipment, and routes from different depots throughout Autumn, and Spring 2023.

  6. Here's something weird. I decided to head to Woodhaven, and went to the first pick-up on the QM12 route (Metropolitan Avenue-71st Road). I waited for the 10AM final trip into Manhattan. When it came time, it didn't arrive at it's time. At first I thought it was slightly delayed, but suddenly the QM12 bus into Manhattan was on the opposite section of the avenue. This means that I wasted this trip for nothing, and I didn't get a chance to ride the express via Yellowstone. As a result, I went back to Woodhaven Boulevard, and took the QM15 back into Manhattan. Based on the schedule, the QM12 that goes into Manhattan starts at 71st Road. I'm assumed that the B/O didn't see me, even though I was at the stop, or that he seemed to didn't care at all, and skipped me. This was the first time that I had this issue when a run skips the first stop on it's route. It is rare, but express operators should pay attention to the schedule, and stop at the first pick-up before going to the other stops, if there is someone at the first stop.
