  1. They should. And those things will turn 50 this year. And I think its 2022 or 3... But the SIR should be a priority because they're older than the R46, and are in worse shape, 2023 is far away..
  2. Well the R142 and R142A chimes aren't as loud as the R160Bs. For some reason the R160As have quieter chimes. And nothing would go wrong, because thats why there is a warning for the closing doors. No matter how the chime sounds.
  3. I swear I hope the R211 has the R143/160/188 chime tone, I don't like the 142/A/179 one besides, every train has atleast a A division twin. Like the R179 with the R142A, and now the R211 wit the R188
  4. And the 8 4-car sets are definitely going to ENY.
  5. This is why Pitkin and 207th Street shall get the R211s, and the remaining displaced R160s from Jamaica.
  6. SOMEONE ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS WHY I STRESS THIS. THANK YOU.
  7. I heard about this before, it's a new program on the and for wheelchair passengers.
  8. I see where this is going, but uh, Would you use the 13 R179s on the on the or just have them both get R211s and use the fleet Pitkin/207th shares already?. Plus don't forget about the 32 cars going to ENY.
  9. Now we’re talking about apartments? I thought this was a R211 Discussion Thread..
  10. Eh, but it’s still not called 8th Avenue, and regardless, CBTC cannot be installed until the R68s are gonna along CPW.
  11. Well, Central Park West isn’t really considered as 8th Avenue, and CBTC on the and line would be up to 50th Street, atleast until Concourse gives up their R68s. That’s kinda like considering the after Utica Avenue as Eastern Parkway, even though it runs above Livonia Avenue.
  12. And, instead of getting extra R211s, since the is no where near getting CBTC, just have the run those R68/As only. Then the and use the R160Bs, and R211As.
  13. Wait, where does Concourse have the space for this? Mine you some R68As are stored there anyways, and Concourse has 264 R68s!
  14. 3rd option? Um, I don’t like the Coney Island bound R179s, as they are not CBTC Equipped, but the R211s are. Let’s say if the was to get CBTC soon which it probably would, and it would need CBTC equipped trains, the R179s should have to get equipped first, and the would have to operate the R160s and R211As since they’re CBTC equipped. Plus as said many times, Coney Island is definitely not a priority for new cars. Carry on.
  15. Thank you, someone who thinks the same way I do when it comes to the future assignments.
  16. It is actually 535 according to the manufacturer of the train itself, and I am aware of the 8 Av CBTC.
  17. This is true, but see my comment above. Tell me what you think.
  18. Give all 535 R211s to Jamaica, displace maybe 600-650 R160s. The gets half of the displaced R160s, and give the rest to , this means a potential car shortage of MTA doesn’t exercise all orders, and the R68s will be working extra hard.
  19. I’m just saying something about things that I see and have noticed on this thread. No hard feelings!
  20. No it doesn’t. It doesn’t need them, you want the to have the Ts. It will be fine with the As.
  21. You people must want to see R160B ‘s and R179 ‘s! Nooo! Just give those to ENY, and the reason why ENY is even getting the 211s is because it’s designated for the . For the fourth time: : R211A, R160 (Potential extras from Jamaica), R179. : R211A, R160. : R211A, R160 Frank: R68, R68A : Displace R160B Siemens and more Alstoms with the amount of 211As if more than 260, give them to Coney Island, or Pitkin. (R160, R211A)
  22. This is why I’m saying have both the run 600 feet trains. It’s just common sense.
