It depends on the issues. Yes, there has been instances where the B has been suspended partially or totally, but there has been other instances where the B has been rerouted via 8th Avenue.

Lets not forget that 6th Avenue is getting CBTC, so the B will need the techs whether it's r160's or r211's.

While that is true , I’m pretty sure that’s not the point she’s making , the (B)(D) need them for mainly for any reroutes on 8 Av but in most cases,

The B gets suspended the moment something goes wrong. The reroute they’re more worried with the D about is Culver, not 8th Avenue.

so the only real concern from that point would only be the (D) and then rerouting the (D) onto the Culver line like stated above.

I thought the Ts weren't supposed to run express.

I thought the same thing, I was assuming that the train didn’t have any passengers on it but it kinda looked like it did

Here’s a very cheap solution that no one has come up with. Close all but ONE subway entrance at each station and ONLY one turnstile in service for incoming passengers, a two armed guards with a rifle and attack dog positioned watching people pay the fare ONE AT A TIME. And yes, lines will be equivalent to those at the airport, but that’s what happens when people fare beat. Everyone then has to be treated like babies. At least this should be a thing until a system similar to E-ZPass is set up and will scan every commuters credit cards, phones, and forcibly extract the fare from one of the accounts. No gates, just an arch people have to walk under, and a red X will go off in the lane of the person that didn’t pay, and that person will be sprayed with a fluorescent dye that will be scanned at each staircase and cops will patrol the trains. Anyone that has the dye will be fined. BOOM! Problem solved. So if you don’t want your $1900 cocktail dress or $5790 Hermes bag sprayed with dye, pay the damn fare

You’re joking right ? 😂 Nvm, I just remembered on multiple occasions you let a train pass you cause it was a 46/68 so I know you’re being serious. The fact that at your grown age, you sat here, thought this out, typed it, read it over (or maybe you didn’t, it doesn’t seem like you did ) , and still pressed submit is ridiculous, please pull your head back onto earth and out of whatever inane deluded space it’s in because what type of “solutions” are these ? 😂

  4. No (B) trains in Brooklyn in both directions.

No southbound (Q) trains from DeKalb Av to Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

    What's Happening?

Emergency teams are responding to a person who was struck by a train at Beverley Rd.

Southbound (Q) trains will run on the (N) line from DeKalb Av to Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

Southbound (B) trains will end at  2 Av on the (F) line.

Northbound (Q) trains will not stop at  Beverley Rd.

Expect a longer wait for a southbound (N) train while they share the track with rerouted trains.

Cause someone made a mistake typing that. The people in control who post this stuff are human, they make mistakes

i was caught up in this. Working the extended M, sat at Myrtle Broadway for an hour. Eventually worked my way up to Hewes and was turned around at Marcy middle. Ran back to Metro in service from Hewes.

    Ahh okay , makes sense

    Repeat that last part? 😳

I also highly suggest that you guys bring Clorox wipes with you if you plan on sitting down on the trains or the local buses. I’ve seen some nasty stuff out here 🤢

Definitely do , it happens A LOT more than you would think

You beat the fare because you didn’t wanna pay. Don’t start crying when cops seize your belongings because you went thru the gate without paying. They saw you carrying your speaker, $1300 cell phone, $200 in your pocket and a new pair of $400 Trump sneakers. Boy, you know these cops aren’t stupid to let you go by. Even if you say you’re going to work. They’re gonna call your employer to tell them that you got arrested for beating the fare. They will find your replacement quicker than you can say “Please”.

    but also:

people who beat the fares are also the ones who starts the mayhem on the trains from robberies to killings to surfing,

and even having sex on the stations

oh please , that is a very valid reason to farebeat , nobody is about to sit here for attempt a bunch of work arounds if their metrocard or OMNY isn’t working. If my train is coming , my train is coming 😂 and the last part of your statement is full of shit too, the average rider whether they pay their fare or not , they’re not doing all that extra shit , we’re all just tryna get from point a to point b. Now no doubt , im not putting farebeating past those ppl doing all that other stuff but let’s not blame everyone for the choices of a select few

Don't know if it's a common sight to see: on the R46, when arriving at Canal St on the (N) (Q) platform Brooklyn bound, the doors can slide left to right on some part when it's at the platform waiting for the passengers to exit and enter the train.  Seen on the very first car of the train where the T/O punches to what part they are heading on.

    What do you mean ?

There’s no more R160s running on the (C) (again, last assignment was the R32 shuffle as 8593-8652, 9943-9974) reflecting back from the past update. The last one ran did ran in service last Monday (8393-8396/8509-8512) and was swapped out with a ENY R179 (3074-3077/3110-3113) before the first day of February and first day of R211T in passenger service .

For now, the fleet of the (A)(C) are mixed of R46s, R179s (5-car for the A and Shuttle with 4-car for the C) and R211s (the T is only for the C, the standard is for the A).  The (J)(Z) still uses the R179 but not much.

Just seen 8569-8572/8405-8408 on the (C)

From 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday,  (1) trains aren't running between Dyckman St and 116 St-Columbia University in either direction, and downtown trains aren't stopping at 207 St. This is because of structural maintenance.

    (1) trains are running in two sections:

Between 242 St-Van Cortlandt Park and Dyckman St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.

Between 116 St-Columbia University and South Ferry, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.

Can someone explain how the 1 terminates at 116th ?

What’s the new features besides the gangway?

Lmfaoo yeah that was pretty much it and the fact that the announcement system actually worked

  14. I gotta say, I love how prevalent the R211’s are becoming on the A line , I got off the 211T at Columbus circle and headed back downtown and I’ve seen 4 of them including the one I’m on now. It’s definitely a great look

  15. I’m on the R211T right now ( approaching uptown platform at 59th St-CC ) , this is my second ride and I gotta say, I really like the soft shell better, it gives the train a more spacious feel. All the updated features on the T are really cool , very nice fast smooth ride and it looks so incredible seeing through the train as it curves swerves and descends.
