It a metal piece on the end of train cars to prevent them from climbing on top of each other in case of a derailment. Anyone feel free to correct me on this analogy/example but let’s say a 4-car train of 160s (A-B-B-A) crashed into a bumper block, the anticlimbers would stop the B car from sliding forwards and either ramming completely through the car in front of it or bucking upwards and taking the top the train car in front of it.

This picture might better explain what I meanNTSB-Woodley-Park-Accident.png

    Well, what's an anticlimber

  3. There is limited northbound (E)(F) train service from Manhattan to Queens while we address a signal problem near 5 Av/53 St.

Some northbound (E) trains will run on the (C) line from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal to 168 St, where they will turn for southbound service.

The last stop on some northbound (F) trains will be 57 St, where they will turn for southbound service.

Some northbound (F) trains will run on the (G) line from Bergen St to Court Sq-23 St.

To alleviate track congestion, some northbound (C) trains will run express from  Canal St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.

    Expect delays in (A)(C)(E)(F)(G) service.

Well actually I’m 32 thank you very much.  I’m just a very picky individual, similar to when people go to restaurants and want their food to taste good. If it doesn’t I literally won’t eat

    1. I figured you were an adult but I was trying to give you a saving grace but assuming you were a teenager

    2. you being 32 makes it even worse

    3. that’s not a good comparison at all, I’m pretty sure everyone who goes out to eat wants their food to taste good, you just make no sense all around and it’s hilariously sad

Just can’t stand seeing my home line filled with nothing but R46s. Keeps me from taking the train, and restricting myself to other transportation modes, even to meet up with friends or family, or commute to/from work. Why can’t they run even one R160 and I can time my commutes around the scheduled? They do it with the (Q) daily, so surely they have enough equipment to do so for the (N) too.

You truly are an idiot , I can’t believe that you still are going on with this nonsense about not taking the train because it’s an R46. You have got to be like 14 or something because there’s no way as a GROWN ADULT you are seriously going out your way to avoid a type of subway car 😂😂

If real, the MTA’s buggin. They deleted all the wrong letters. Maybe LXNGTN instead?

I swear, I was at GC and watched the 4 train come in and leave, it said LNGTON , I thought the same thing when I saw it , I did a double take and all but no ‘X’, I would figure if they’d abbreviate it , it would at least be shortened to just LEX , maybe it was a glitch, idk

On 4080-4084+4120-4124 now and I gotta say the train definitely feels really spacious and the acceleration is nice. The intercom system is trash though , cant hear being said and the FIND keeps going out every couple of stops, I bet that gets annoying to deal with

Just hit 50 on the Flats entering Broad Channel, train really gives a nice smooth quiet ride

This is why I had proposed repurposing the MARTY's from Stop N Shop and Target to patrol the subway and stun people who farebeat with lasers or stun-guns, rubber bullets, darts, arrows, you name it. or have a special system like EZPass that scans a person's credit cards or phones inconspicuously and automatically detracts the subway fare from that person, similar to scanning EZPass

LMFAOOOOO please be so deadass right now, it’s truly never was that serious, is that serious or will ever that serious 😂

And is one of the reasons I move the (R) to Nassau as noted in prior posts (mainly 95th-Canal Street on the (J) to shorten the  <R> considerably and have the (W) cover the Manhattan and QBL portions running Whitehall-71st/Continental (with for overflow trains that can't be turned at Whitehall running to the tunnel level of Canal Street) and a new "Yellow (V)" running from Bay Parkway or 9th Avenue on the (D) to Astoria to keep the connection of lower Manhattan from 4th Avenue in place (with a same platform transfer from the Nassau <R> to the "Yellow (V)" in this anywhere between 36th and Court).

As for the (L), that was Cuomo, IMO at the time of doing so looking ahead to a Presidential run and likely very concerned such a shutdown would create a massive problem for those who have to drive into work in Manhattan, especially those who have employers who frown on people coming from the suburbs on public transportation IMO because it can hurt a company's image with highly snobbish clients who look down on those who use public transportation.   IMO, Cuomo feared losing votes in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and to a lesser extent Pennsylvania over a full (L) shutdown if he had run for President from those who commute to work from outside NYC who insist or in some cases have to drive at the insistence of their employers.

You don’t get tired of repeating yourself over and over again or hearing people tell you that your idea isn’t feasible or sensible ???

If cameras are being installed on the R211 cabs, then they’ll use the same technique on future subway fleet, so the thread was created to see why people disagree on this and if the crews that are against it should be fired

But some people in that discussion thread are arguing about it so that’s why I made this.

Both of you please grow up , there’s literally no point in discussing this , just like @RTOMan said , it’s MTA’s trains so it’s up to them on that subject and then firing crew members who are against it makes no sense either like come on 😂😂

I will. And I just did.

I’m pretty sure they were being satire, there’s literally no reason for you to create that thread 😂. Nothing any of you say in this pointless argument will affect the build of these subway cars.
