  1. As of right now it looks like 26002 has only operated for one day (11/22/2022) and hasn't been used since then. The charging infrastructure at Princeton is not yet complete so it has to go to Stout's in Ewing to get charged. I last visited Princeton and Stout's facility in mid-December, I'm not sure if any other units were delivered. So far their 1995 and 1997-1998 ex-OCTA D40LFs are still going strong.

  2. It looks like the 45ft ElDorado is most likely cancelled for Rutgers. No official word on it yet, but the manager here isn't too confident on it. It was originally scheduled to be delivered and tested in summer 2023. This does not affect the 25 upcoming 40ft ENC Axess BRTs on order for 2023-2025 though.

Honestly a 45ft bus is not the most practical for Rutgers, as there are a number of tight turns that even 40ft buses sometimes struggle to make. I also heard from another person that it's unlikely LACMTA will be going for 45ft buses to replace their NABI 45Cs and instead opting to only go for 40fts and 60fts. Given that LACMTA was theoretically the best recipient for such a bus, I'm not even sure if the 45ft ENC will be produced. Even if it is, I doubt many transit agencies would buy it as very few agencies (with LACMTA being a notable exception) uses 45ft transit buses.

  3. Did some VIN decoding. If VINs are in order, then the VINs for the remainder of the order should be:

    26003: 5FYB8KJ04NC105965

    26004: 5FYB8KJ06NC105966

    26005: 5FYB8KJ08NC105967

    26006: 5FYB8KJ0XNC105968

    26007: 5FYB8KJ01NC105969

    26008: 5FYB8KJ08NC105970

    26009: 5FYB8KJ0XNC105971

    26010: 5FYB8KJ01NC105972

    26011: 5FYB8KJ03NC105973

    26012: 5FYB8KJ05NC105974

    26013: 5FYB8KJ07NC105975

    26014: 5FYB8KJ09NC105976

    26015: 5FYB8KJ00NC105977

    26016: 5FYB8KJ02NC105978

    26017: 5FYB8KJ04NC105979

    26018: 5FYB8KJ00NC105980

Not an expert on VINs, so I could be wrong. These were just the valid VINs I could find after 26002's VIN. And there's still the possibility they're not numbered in VIN order, lol.

  4. Update on these buses:

Their numbers will be 26002-26018, not 26001-26017. 26002 is still in training but will be in service this month. 26003-26009 will be delivered by the end of the year, while the remainder are still on the line.

26002-26015 will each feature a unique Princeton scheme while the remainder will be in the standard Tiger Transit scheme.

    26002 plate: OYB6484 VIN: 5FYB8KJ02NC105964

  5. https://www.masstransitmag.com/management/article/21285284/transdev-to-acquire-first-transit

It looks like Transdev will be acquiring First Transit. For those who may not know, they were already purchased by EQT about a year ago. This is the second time they've been sold in the past two years.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Will all First Transit operations and vehicles be transferred to Transdev, or will First Transit still operate in name, just that it's owned by Transdev (like it is now with First being owned by EQT). I'm mostly curious about what it means for university transit systems as they operate plenty of them (e.g. Rutgers, Emory, LSU, GSU, SCAD, UTK, Alabama, etc), mostly using ElDorado Axess/EZ Rider.

I'm sure those D45CRT standard floor cruisers are going to Wayne and some possibly to Meadowlands to replace the 9000s and 7100s. Oradell should definitely have all of their 40 foot MCIs replaced by the 22000 white back MCIs and they'll be housed in Oradell garage. Fairview may have their ex-Wayne 9000s replaced by the white backs as well. It's just a guess on my part

My money is on the CRTs going to Wayne/Meadowlands/Howell to replace 7100s (both 7101-7118 and 7121-7187) and 9000s, and to southern garages which will displace 18000s (for a mileage switch like @553 Bridgeton said) to Market Street (to finally replace their D4000s), Oradell (to get up to 160 buses as @Gmansports said) and Fairview (to replace their ex-Wayne 9000s).

I did hear a theory that the CRTs will be going to southern garages to replace their 18000s which will then go to Wayne and Market Street. Not sure tho.

  7. As promised by Princeton University when they switched their transit provider in early 2021, there will be electric buses after a year. The bus model was decided to be the NFI XE35. 17 units will be delivered, replacing all 1995-97 ex-OCTA New Flyer D40LF and Ford cutaways.

Deliveries began this week, and 26002 is now at the Stout's facility in Ewing, NJ. It will be used for driver training before entering service in mid-October.
