  1. It depends, bus stopped in bus stop and if it’s properly parked you won’t get blamed, if your sticking out, than you get blamed ( preventable accident) also any off route accident stopped or not is preventable ( unless directed to do so by the command or a dispatcher), if your running hot it can also be preventable even if stopped.
  2. The same would apply for the Mta, if you tried to squeeze past a double parked car and hit the mirror it would be treated as a preventative accident. Mta will train you from the beginning to know the size of your bus, if you don’t think you’ll make it, call the command center & wait for assistance or wait for the car to move.
  3. Does anyone know the criteria the ta uses when to promote somebody that is bad sick? Not on sick control, Hasn’t called in sick in years. He is bad due to his percentage. Under 30% He only calls FMLE for himself. Thanks
  4. More rumors…….. can anyone anyone confirm they got a G46 from The general & was sent to the Mac, it would be helpful to us
  5. That’s good to know, pm operators have been asking for pm 19a zegera classes for years.
  6. I would call zegera or a superintendent to make sure about the time, for years it is always 7 to 3, many of the superintendents take Zegera so they can be done at 3pm.
  7. zegera is always 7-3. Are you sure it is 3-11pm? the superintendents are going home at 3pm
  8. I’d take public transportation there if possible. Very bad for parking there.
  9. Congratulations, don’t rush it, you made it. Your probation starts from Your hire date, everyday you aren’t driving is good. ( for now) let your classmates catch up to you. Day 9 and day 10 qualifiers. Wait till you do like training and drive on your own, that’s when the run begins
  10. For the first 30 days you need 70% & the Mac will qualify you to drive, than after that you have to show the report once a year. If you don’t have it just get a note from the sleep doctor and bring the sleep study report to the Mac, if you don’t have it you’ll be on your way
  11. 70% usage on the cpap machine, for 30 days and the Mta doctor will qualify you and you will have to re visit once a year to show the cpap numbers
  12. It’s a good job, get a sleep study, it’s 50/50, either you have it or not, if you don’t have it just summit it to the doctors and you’ll be fine, if you have it you have to use the machine and be 70% for 30 days. Good luck to u on whatever you choice
  13. You had to fill out a sleep questionnaire, what did you put down? What was your BMI? The doctors use neck size, BMI & the answers from Your sleep questionaire to make the decision to send for you the sleep study or not.
  14. The turns are difficult because they want you to learn, if you can’t do it with a instructor there imagine by yourself with a bus full of passengers. Who would you call? It’s all to train you properly.
  15. I guess it’s something new to ask the health questions online, when I started we sat in front of the computer and answered them, they are yes or no questions. The Mac doctor will go over the questionnaire again with you at your appt. How is your neck is it 17 or over? Than the doctor will want a sleep study completed to proceed
  16. What health questionnaire? When I go to the MAC it’s on the computer screen, this must be new, what do the questions ask?
  17. From what I remember day 7 was a testing day, instructor tells you your turns where to go etc, treat day 7 like a road test, if you don’t make day 7 there is day 7 & 9.
  18. Listen to your instructor, he/she will guide & train you. You have to the drive the bus the ta way. We can try to help you here but it isn’t the same as on the road, by day 6 are expected to know how to operate. Forward planning is the key. Watch the lights from a block plus away. Scan the mirrors every day 3-5. In the beginning it’s rough, we all been there. Good luck to you and everyone else
