4090-4094: South Brooklyn Railway to Coney Island Yard

4095-4099: delivered to South Brooklyn Railway.

The r46's are not going to retired yet.

Yes, we are going to see the production r211A's gradually enter service. Let's be patient. Don't be surprised if each production train enters service on a weekly or biweekly basis.

The MTA should make sure that things are running smoothly with the r211's before retiring any r46's.

I know that. I think the 46s are gonna start retiring when there are about 10 10-car sets, though

NICE! Hopefully we have weekly deliveries consistently from this point.

I hope so too. I was able to see some 46s near Stilwell on Sunday! I could show you the video, but I don’t have a yt channel yet. Ik it had nothin to do with this thread but at least I caught some before they started retiring

Now that the pilot R211A has presumably completed its 30 day revenue service test successfully, more R211A cars have apparently been delivered to SBK in the midnight hours of 2023-06-20. The cars are assumed to be part of the 5 car set 4090-4094. If this is true, following the previous delivery pattern, the cars that were delivered are cars 4094 and 4093.

Information adapted from the NYCT Subway Tracking Server.

Cool, it’s nice to have more cars delivered

So what happens now that the 30 day test is over? Are they going to put the production sets in service?

Most likely later on this week. It probably won’t take a while. I was in NYC yesterday and even thought I didn’t see potion, I saw F N and Q trains in coney. But that’s not the point. The production sets might just get in service later on.

Today should be the 27th day of testing if my calculations are correct. If all goes well it will end on Sunday which could mean that the next 2 trains will be in service next week.

Yep. You are correct. It’s kinda interesting its 30th day  of testing is on Father’s Day. I have 6/19 on my calendar rn cuz that testing will be done by then if no issues get caused.

Does anyone know if all four production sets (4070-4089) have all completed burn-in testing and are ready for service when (Hopefully) the pilot set passes in a few days?

Well, 4070-79 did some operator training on June 8th on the F, so that’s good news.

First video of the R211S testing along West End middle track yesterday (R211A production set was also running around on West End as well) with the second video of the R211S being transferred to Pitkin.

All that’s left at Coney are all the 211Ts. I wonder what that set is gonna do next…

Yeah, I agree. @BenTheMiner was able to fit SIR into one bullet and his recreations are the exact same dot count as the real thing.

Nice. It’s good to do something except leavin something there. Especially if you think [insert whoever here] did something that you don’t like. It would be cool to fit SIR into a bullet.

But announcements??? We must know what they sound like!

I'm not a fan of the blank bullet. They should at least put SI or (S).

Meh, they probably would sound like the NYCT announcements, just a lil different, something like 'This is a SIR train to Tottenville.' or something different. I get that we should know, but they would sound like announcements from the NYCT in my op. And tbh, I like the blank bullet. The SIR runs on 1 line anyway. And it would be better if they did put the S cuz it would be too small for SI. What I'm confused about is why did they put SIR on the screen things on top of the doors hile the front is just SI? It should fit SIR.

Is that the final number of R211Ts? We'll have to wait for whatever replaces the R68s for more open gangway trains?

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on if the MTA wants the second option order and if they do, there are two options. 437 R211A or T cars or only 333 of them. Like I said, idk whether they are gonna go for more As or some Ts. And since that is supposed to be 4 car sets, 436/4 and 332/4 equals 109 and 83 cars respectively. It doesn’t equal a whole number. None of them!

    3 of the 5 r211T(Soft Shell) 4057 4058 4059 ..guess the other 2 are on the way.

I swear it has been so fukin long to get these guys delivered to NYC. I’m glad they’re finally here! Now we have a fleet set of total R211s from 100-104 and 4040-4089! (I think y’all know that)
