  1. so what happens for the shuttle it was assigned for?

My guess (keyword: guess) is that the best D60HFs will go to GA for the shuttle. I don't know if that's true or not, they could go to the Bronx or maybe even somewhere else in Brooklyn. ENY probably can give a more accurate answer as to what may happen.

  2. Don't think it's worth noting, but Howell does a trip or two on the 126 in the AM.

I can't confirm as to whether or not this is still true, but I believe Howell has 16003. It might be at Ironbound though, because I saw it heading into the Port getting ready to do the 116 last week, so it's up in the air as to whether IB actually does have it or whether Howell was just doing a tripper that day.

As for Academy, these numbers aren't 100% accurate as I see their new CTs all over the place.

Toms River has 17122-17140 (I think it ends at 17140 for them)

    Leonardo has 17161-17184

    Westampton has 17150-17160

If there are any changes or inaccuracies, I'll follow up.

  3. Okay I'll admit, I've been skimming through this whole Bx19 thing and not paying it too much attention on account of finals week, so I'm hoping someone can bring me up to speed.

I will drop my 2 cents in here though, whenever I'm waiting for the Bx19 in Harlem, which I've been taking very frequently lately, I've noticed that there are times when I've waited a good 20-25 minutes for an E/B bus at Convent/145th, while seeing at least 2-3 heading to Riverbank Park. Now idk if them being late coming from the Bronx has anything to do with it (I have a good feeling it does though), but whatever it is, its creating a cascade effect on that line. I don't propose making it an SBS line just yet though. I say for the time being, just make it Limited.

  4. Roaches for sure, "bedbugs" specifically idk definitely gross. Oddly enough, as more people got on the less there were. Guess the saying: "they're more afraid of you then you are of them" is true to an extent. Moths, caterpillars and trash for one thing. West Farms gotta get their shit together but to a greater extent: BRONX PPL HAVE TO STOP LITTERING IN GENERAL!!!!!

I think many of the folks who take WF routes feel the same way about them as you do. I remember riding an XN40 on the Bx6 a few weeks back and hearing "Nah I like this bus. It's better than them raggedy-ass ones they always using."

WF needs to get it together in terms of basically everything IMO. Idk if it's just me, but it seems like every WF route I take has a driver taking a longer layover than usual. This mainly happens on the Bx15 and Bx19.

  5. Express bus service wouldn't have done any good for passengers looking to get to Jersey City or Hoboken (or Bayonne itself. I've used the S89 for travel to/from Bayonne, and have seen passengers transferring from the S89 to those Blue Apron shuttle buses. That, and occasionally some people will go shopping in nearby shopping centers).

If local bus service goes over the Goethals or Outerbridge (which I think it should), you think the sole purpose is going to be to connect to the NEC & NJCL to reach Manhattan? Not everything is centered around Manhattan, just saying....

If that were to happen, the NEC & NJCL wouldn't be the main destinations. Places like Woodbridge and Menlo Park Malls would probably be the purpose of those routes. You may even get a few folks for Metropark heading south towards Trenton, Philly, and the like.

  6. Another idea to provide more coverage in Woodbridge:

Extend the #115 to Perth Amboy via the following routing:

Route 35-Green Street, serve the Woodbridge Mall, then continue down Woodbridge Center Drive to Mutton Hollow Road to Route 9 to West Pond Road/Pfeiffer Blvd to State Street to Market Street to Sadowski Parkway (and loop back up Catalpa Avenue)

As for Woodbridge Mall, jump off Route 35, make a right on Main, then a right onto Woodbridge Center Drive, serve Woodbridge Mall, loop through the mall onto Route 9 following your proposed route.

Pfeiffer stops before it runs into State so you'd have to route it down Amboy Road, left on Hall Ave and take that to State St.

In terms of the service patterns, if the ridership warrants it, Howell could take a few of these trips on the weekends.

An idea: Separate the #126 Hamilton Park extension from the main route. The #126 is far too busy to be serving that extension on 30 minute headways (in other words, if I lived in that area, I'd find it far too risky to take the #126 bus because I wouldn't know if I would be able to fit on one of those Hamilton Park trips).

I think a full-time route should run up the west side of Hoboken (further west than the Clinton/Willow trips, maybe up Monroe/Madison) and focus on getting down to Hamilton Park. I would extend this route down 8th/9th and Brunswick/Monmouth to Montgomery Street, and then take Montgomery to Baldwin, and terminate at Five Corners (where the #1/4/6/81 meet). This would give a direct ride to Manhattan from parts of Jersey City that are far from the PATH and HBLR (and #119).

I kinda see where you're going here, although you could take it a step further and have go across Montgomery to West Side Ave, and have it terminate at the West Side Ave. HBLR station, and it can essentially fulfill the same purpose.
