  1. Who came up with the asinine idea of having the N58 go down to the end of Kings Point Rd on the N58 first, then go back to the Academy with passengers picked up,only to sit there for 8 min. layover which causes missed train connection at GNRR,which the N58 is designed for?

Is there some sort of maintenance facility near MacArthur Airport? I always see a variety of MTA/NICE buses around there, the other day I even saw a new-ish looking WMATA New Flyer, I had to do a double-take, wish I could’ve got a pic.

Remember, they're using the overnight network as a template, not the daytime network. If the B99 is the Brooklyn portion of the (2) then the M99 is the Brooklyn portion of the (4). To me "42nd Street" meant GCT, not Times Square when I read it. Mu hunch is @B61In2002 is correct.

How's the B99 doing in terms of ridership?

FREEPORT- I wouldn't combine the former ridership base of the n62/n36. All you will be serving in that case is the old n62 ridership. No one will ride thru the entire freeport loop to get to Freeport to transfer.

PW/Sand Point- NICE already has a route that serves the same area (port washington shuttle). The question is how to serve that loop in Port Washington and Sand Point on one bus? The ridership base is entirely different south of Port Washington compared to north of it. I think it should be three separate routes

GN-Hempstead- I like the idea of a bus connecting Great Neck to Hubs in the middle of the island. I would however stay off the LIE. I would keep the (bus) on Northern Blvd and run via the n23 route after Roslyn Clock Tower. This would provide more frequent service along Willis Ave, and reduce the amount of 20H towards Hicksville. I would end the bus at Mineola however. People needing the other hubs could transfer at Mineola.

They should bring back the old N59 route.

  5. Why the hell is NICE been ending their Queens routes by the city line for the last few nights? Don't they realize that buses are exempt from the curfew & are needed for essential workers, just like in the city? The N6 has been dumping people at Elmont Rd rather than at the city line(about a mile away) where at least they can transfer to MTA buses. The N20 for some reason runs into Queens, but only as far as 162 St? Why there?

Lol at the double meaning.... The S89 doesn't beat the M60 by an (idiomatic) mile, it beats it by a (literal) mile

Regardless, yeah, this answers MHV's question... No other (local) route in the system has the difference between two stops on the same route as the S89 between Walker & 34th st HBLR.....

They should add stops bet. the bridge & HBLR sta. on 440 to serve the businesses along there.

The ridership statistics are out. Looks like the old table formats (on the site) are no longer used, and you have download an excel file to view the data. From what I've seen on the MTA Bus side, the results don't look too pretty. Lots of losses, and the QM buses have seen some major losses.

Here's the highest increases and decreases on the MTA bus side. I'll have the NYCT stats later on:

These figures are meaningless due to the high & growing amount of fare evasion, esp. through the rear doors which don't get recorded.

  8. Academy Bus has the contract for planned work.Companies used in addition to Academy were Regency,Accord,as well as out-of state companies consisting of Suburban Transit,Dillons,Short Line,Rockland Coaches,Lakefront,& others. Definitely a lot more buses than were needed.

The N22 doesn't drop people off westbound until the county line, and that's easily a 15 minute walk, which would probably nuke whatever time savings this would actually get you if your destination was LNP. And NICE/LIB drivers have never been particularly helpful for those one or two riders who inevitably get on at 179th thinking they can get off in Queens.

You mean N22 doesn't drop off eastbound.

From what I can (somewhat) discern from said map screenshot...

    - A Northern Blvd route running clear along Northern from Northern blvd (M)(R) to Marathon Pkwy... Turns on Marathon Pkwy to HHE.... Takes HHE to LNP, to end where the Q30 does in Little Neck...

    - A Springfield Blvd route running from Ft. Totten to (what looks like) Farmers/Rockaway blvd... Basically a combination of [the Q13 along Bell] and [the Q27 between Bell & 120th], with a southward extension to that general area around JFK Depot...

    - A Francis Lewis Blvd. route that's basically a combination of the Q84 in Springfield Gardens, the Q77 along Francis Lewis, and the Q76 along Francis Lewis... Can't really tell what it does after reaching Willets Pt. (blvd)...

    - A 188th st/Utopia Pkwy route running from Cambria Hgts. to the LeHavre apts... Basically [the Q83 between 227th & Liberty/Farmers], [the Q3 to Hillside], [the Q17 from Hillside to Utopia Pkwy], then runs clear up Utopia Pkwy. to the Cross Island, where it does the QM2 routing to Powell's Cove, where this suggested route ends....

    - No direct service to any of the terminals inside JFK... Buses terminate at Federal Circle.

    - Q9 extension to 150th av (over the current Q10 130th st branch)

    - Q25 diversion north of Northern Blvd. that runs up to Poppenhusen (Shore Front Park) via College Point Blvd

    - Q43 extension to LIJ

    - Q44 truncation to Briarwood (E)(F) that takes the Whitestone Expwy. service rd (instead of Parsons) to get to/from the Bronx....

    - A Linden Blvd. route that runs from 235th to Rockaway Blvd

    - Something branching off along Hillside av to go Winchester <> Douglaston Pkwy > HHE > Community Dr., to North Shore Hospital

    - Something resembling a combination of the old Q74 (with an extension) & today's Q25 (with modifications)... Looks like it begins at Union Tpke (E)(F), then does the old Q74 to HHE, continues up along Main, to then go (what looks like) Northern > Linden (pl) > Ulmer > 130th, to 20th av... It clearly runs past the shopping center along 20th, but I can't really tell what it's doing over there around Clintonville...

    - Can't tell where in Jamaica it terminates, but what looks to be a Sutphin Blvd route that does the Q7 south of Rockaway Blvd (as in, looping around JFK Cargo Plaza), to go on to ending at Federal Circle...

    - Q83 diversion to JFK (Federal Circle) via Liberty, via Farmers

    - Q84 truncation to Springfield blvd

    - A westward Q112 extension to (what looks like) Crescent (J) via Liberty & via Crescent

    - Something branching off along Guy R. Brewer to run along Baisley, to then do the current Q85 b/w Baisley & (what looks like) LIRR Rosedale, where this thing terminates...

That's going to be some right turn to make from Northern Blvd onto Marathon Pkwy for the Q12.You'll have to swing wide from the left lane to do it.

No 1. It helps 2 save $$$ for d MTA, as u dont need 2 hir a prufreder.

As far as proofreading goes, the service changes for buses on the MTA website always has mistakes. For example;Ave instead of street, right turn instead of left, etc. Seems like it's done by people that know nothing about the system.
