  1. It would of been nice for 5000-5010 to retire

at ENY. 97's moved out of flatbush so quick. I wonder What's going to happen with the rts at flatbush when their new bus orders come in. Flatbush has been an all rts depot for a long time despite having ng's in 08.

Thats a dumb statement. Why would they retire those buses when they aren't slated to be.

The 97-98 RTSs at Flatbush will be done as so:

The Best ones to MTA Bus, the worst to scrap.

  2. Because some of you don't know the retirement plans for these high floor buses, here is what ACTUALLY is happening, coming from my sources who WORK at MTA:

    Option 1:

414 Novabus LFSs & 276 New Flyer XD40s are taken, with an option of 350 buses being taken as well (manufacture unknown at the time):
    >First, all the 1996-97 Novabus RTSs WILL, WILL, WILL retire. That includes buses from 8750-9349.

    >Next, ALL the Orion Vs WILL retire. These buses (the TA ordered ones anyways) have frame rot, and various units have cracked axles.

    >THEN The worst of the 1997-98 Novabus RTS batch (9350-9699) will go to scrap, and the better ones will go to MTA Bus.

    > After all of that, the 1998-99 Novabus RTSs (4902-5249) will be the only high floors left at transit.

    Option 2:

414 Novabus LFSs, 276 New Flyer XD40s and all 700 options are taken:

    >All high floors are retired, and MTA Bus will get a cut of of the options to retire RTSs and Orion Vs at depots that have them now.

These are the Choices that the MTA are sticking too.

  3. 7090 added.

Oh, I spotted 1016 on East 103 St and Flatlands Avenue with JFK stickers, not in service and with papers all in it - I couldn't see what they said though.

More then likely it is doing CMF testing. A lot of those 1000s have been at ENY CMF for work and they have been taking them everywhere for testing to make sure the repairs are good.

  4. You're a month late, 4934-4943 and 5028 from JA are at UP. 4944 was apart of the group too but it went to east New York last week. They've all been at UP for a little over a month now.

To add to this, the main reason these went to UP was to replace 9390-9399. Jamaica Only sent QV 35 Next Gens while QV sent them 45 LFSs, and so UP sent 9390-9399 and then Jamaica Sent out these.

Incase no one pointed it out (since I don't stalk this page), 9311, 9112, 9236, 9231 and 9203 are all at JFK, along with 5205, 5207 and 5209.

  5. to be honest 207th don't need em, they have more than enough, my guess is that they want to finish up the SMS, and one pair of the 4 cars are still at CI, these were supposed to be for work service but i guess they changed their minds and only a pair was in service (the worst one at that) 3370/71 always had been stored, even when it was at jamaica that pair wasn't used as much

So wait, the 4 that left ENY are now running on the C, after their SMS?
