Why are there only three 16xxx cruisers? And why is one just a training bus?
16001 is a demo for the 17000 series
16002 is a servicemen/mechanic training bus. Will never see service.
16003 is a demo for the 18,19,20,21, and 22 series. More so for the 360 camera system.
17185, 19119-19127 are X12 demos.

7422 got the BPOD. All the 2001-2003 D4500's are done. Just D4000's left.
Yup it’s done. Such a shame all the money put into repainting, a new front, rebuilt inside, new air lines, the whole 9. Just a shame.

Is it true all D4500s (except 7422) are retired? Or they're still more running?
Correct, 7422 only has a couple weeks left.

Who ever gets them better wash those backs good like CUSA. Some of Oradell's 21100s are already dirt black like an old D4000.
They should send to a garage that keeps the buses clean. Newton Av has the cleanest mcis on the outside.

They updated the two corner front upper cameras over the door and driver

Meadowlands dosent have a dumping facility?
Meadowlands has a dumping facility as they have 18108-18119 as well as some remaining 7100 lavs. Meadowlands, Washington Twp, Egg Harbor, and Ironbound are the only depots with dumping facilities.

Guess I just have to learn how to use them. The buses I've driven before have retarder activate as soon as your foot leaves the accelerator.
Those are Allison transmission buses that activate that way. ZF transmission they only become active when you press the service brake and turn off when you release the service brake. That’s why we are called bus operators we do not drive these buses.

@46Dover what is with the brake on some of these NABI's? The brakes are horrible, you have to actually slam down on the pedal for it to notice...
Thr nabis you have to press 1/2 way down to activate the ZF Retarder, then fully press for the pads to grab the rotors, once you do that ease up, adjust accordingly. I’ve never had a problem braking the nabis. The Cummins mcis are same way with the c brake it’s pressure output, not single output like with Jake brake.

It's good to see Oradell now has about 30 of the new MCI's according to the above. Someone recently said they had a "measly" ten, but things can change quickly.
That is because they lost around 30-35 buses because of the flood.

Almost all of meadowlands 210s and 211s are helping out on Oradell lines.

Unless I'm wrong, the rule with NJT contracts is you can't use NJT owned buses on charters or routes that are not NJT contracted.
Look what academy does every weekend. They use them state buses as charters.

Hi everyone. I work at NYC mta. Bus Operator. I work roughly 50 hrs a week. Is it the same with NJ transit? I live in south jersey. Was wondering if anyone its worth it. I saw some reviews about being on the extra board( we call it extra list) and something about combos. I don't mind the work or hours unless its work under 45 hrs a week.
Otherwise ill just go to staten Island. Please advise.
If your run carries overtime you’ll get up to 55hrs a week. Most runs at Egg Harbor, Washington Twp, Newton Av, and Howell runs pay 50hrs.
combos are basically what you call work runs like at Jackie Gleason where that depot is basically an all swing depot.
egg harbor is the 100k+ a year garage. Making 130k is easy there.
newton, Washington Twp, and Howell have a lot of combos that pay good.
extra board, extra list samething, both you have to work upon coming in, however most new guys coming In now are getting jobs. The turnover rate is high right now. So if you come in suggest you make the decision while the turnover is high.
also keep in mind southern division garages runs are longer and runs pay more then northern division; where almost all north garages are 8-9hrs.
any other questions just send me a private message.

Academy most likely will be left with the bare minimum. It goes deeper then what you guys see. There are major issues with the route 9 services.
It’s time njt stop letting these private carriers tell them how they want the buses. We giving you buses so you take what we give you not how you want. Every last one of the private carriers should have had stainless steel sides.
If route 9 is lost, you could possibly see the 134 line comeback.
Academy does not care about the transit lines. They are solely for the charter work especially with the sport teams.

I believe 19038-19067 (Academy) also have lavs, so we might already have all 60 lavs delivered.
This is a separate order for more lavs. Previous lavs been in service.
