Does anyone feel that a “train with mechanical problems”should really be more specified like “train crews are walking through the train determining the cause.

How does a train with mechanical problems cause a rail condition? Also it seems that this happened on the express track meaning people were and may still be stuck on this train . Happy I’m not there .Also why suspend the whole corridor.I think there hiding something

Anyone remember when they put on CPW? It was a while back, before R160 came on the
They do it every so often when something happens on Queens Blvd or 7th ave .

I was at Utica today using some WiFi I saw about 6 or 7 trains terminate there.I was very amazed at how fast each one left.Maybe 2-3 max dwell time on almost all of them. One New Lots bound decided to end at Utica for whatever reason .

Service Change

Northbound trains are stopping along the line from 96 St and end 137 St-City College because of switch problems at Harlem-148 St.
From the looks of waiting time on platforms and subway time, it looks like service has been temporarily suspended.
Did any trains actually get rerouted to 137th?

Probobaly the train went BIE because of the loss of power.

Sometimes when there is a reroute, all of the intervals get refreshed, thus removing them from the tracking system. They likely all have to be re-entered to show a run to whatever new terminal is being used during the time of the reroute. Remember, it's not as versatile as the ATS system tracking the IRT trains or CBTC tracking the .
I saw on twitter people complaining about waiting for over an hour for a train that night. That shouldn’t be at any station south of 57/7. There was a G/O that night where half trains go to 96 half to 57/7. Why didn’t they just simply terminate all at 57.Something strange happened. There was a tweet from MTA saying trains were held in both directions. Why hold S/B? Sounds like it was a pretty big issue on the line.

According to MTA.info there are switch problems at 96th st .This seems to be affecting service on t whole line as Subway Time Dosent show any S/B trains all all running. Is that what’s going to happen every time there is a switch problem there?
EDIT:seems like 2 trains are on there way finally to the Brighton Line.

I once posted about trains with mechanical problems and signal problems not getting cleared right away during off peak.I really want t8 say that if this train now at Fort Hamilton Pkwy stalled during rush hour it would not take an hour or 2 to clear up.Anyone agree?

Also another thing I noticed .When a trip ends early the next trip In the other direction will show where the previous trip was supposed to end. Like Now it shows broad st near Gates Ave .The destination is really “Jamaica Center” but it’s labeled as Broad st.

It knows Whwre that train was supposed to go and in some cases the system can’t display the exact train like it will not show at 86st on for example. But it will show the ’s destination (Forest Hills) as . Why -I have no idea.

Subway time Dosent know that can go to 168 so they just call it to Jamaica Center.Same with to Forest Hills.also 2weeks ago the ,s to 96 were labeled To whatever that ,s original destination should have been (145 or BPB).Southbound they were labeled Brighton Beach.

I just saw a report from a couple of years ago where in order to reduce line merging they could run the from 168st to WTC and run the to Euclid via 8th Ave express and Fulton St Local in Brooklyn

I don’t think this would work.Too much congestion for and .

Tonight the MTA advertises no trains past 9:45 pm as well and southbound 4th ave express from Atlantic-36th. Neither happened however the still went to New Lots and made local stops in Brooklyn. That was nice of them.

Every time this happens the whole gets suspended. Why can’t there be a backup person at Bedford-Nostrand? It’s crazy to suspend the whole line

Yesterday did it end early? I know the route changed to Broadway at 7:30 but did it run till it’s normal time?

I’ve noticed that the is actually running it’s REGULAR schedule today.Last will leave Brighton beach at 9:56,0.Thats very unusual lately. No?

To where 96 st ???....And was those 3 trains able to fit thru the tunnel with the rest of the capacity????
I did not aggree with what they did today. Why should rides lose service because of a problem on 6th Ave? Unless 2nd ave gets more ridership.

I’ve noticed a lot of complaints on Twitter about congestion in queens late evenings. Why don’t they run the to 179to alleviate it ?

With regards to the franklin Shuttle sounds like it was a snow condition and the train with mechanical problems proboably was buried with it.I noticed them using “train with mechanical problems a lot today “.Did the train operator have to walk around the train with each BIE today ? I hope not!

I just think it did more harm then good on a day like this.It goes through an open cut and it was local in Brooklyn for a good part of the day lots of signal problems that probobaly caused congestion. I don’t think it was worth it.But that’s just me .

Unplanned Subway Service Changes

If that’s the case though can’t they switch back after canal?
Also there have been Incidents at Canal and this required trains to be rerouted over bridge so I’m not sure what happened here
