  1. I think it would be good for the (N) to run local all way with the (R)  to 57/7 from 59th st in Brooklyn during this shutdown.A lot of commuters would complain but the end result would be a LOT less merging . I saw on subway time tonight at times lots of tranins trying to get in S/B at 36th st.If my plan would be there would Be no merging whatsoever!

There was also trackwork on the Pelham Line, where a trains went express in one direction. Maybe perhaps of that, trains from the north couldn't terminate at Hunts Point Avenue. Usually when somethung happens on that section, Hunts Point Avenue is used as a southern terminal for Pelham shuttles.

I don’t get why sometimes they have to turn power off in a whole section. Let’s say Grand army plaza (2) and (3) train power off. Do they have to turn power off on the local tracks or also the express as well?

  3. Tonight there was no Service on 4th ave in Brooklyn from about 8:45 to around 9:30 pm or so. Was crazy the platform at Atlantic Ave southbound was dangerously packed. The worst part was that no announcements were made . At least if announments were made people would know to get an Uber etc...

Earlier this morning one (5) train got stuck at Nostrand Junction according to the MTA... Now it's happening to multiple trains?

Not sure what happenend but it was a good move to have the (5)s running local manhattan bound. It seems the trains got stuck in a way that it blocked all Rogers junctions trains and they couldn’t take that risk during the rush . They said the train in the morning lost power . I wonder if the air conditioning shut off.I hope not.also many times when a train goes BIE in the same area multiple times Probobaly it’s a signal/rail/switch problem . In this case they had to change the service to avoid more problems.

I can only see the (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(L)(S) trains.

That’s what it was showing beofre it stopped. It wasn’t working for the longest time .Now it started again . My best part is the history of how long the trip took. Unforunely from iOS 10 it doesn’t show the seconds anymore so you don’t really know if the train is in Service or now .

  6. Subway time does show an (F) on 6th Ave But nothing on Broadway.Hopfully it’s not true . But I can’t imagine all is dandy with Service change not really being planned out . I wonder what happenend anyway.I see trains we’re not running on 6th ave Saturday morning but what was the issue that required this

It is a 3-tracked line. The (1) has 3 tracks between just south of 103 street and 145 street, then has 2 tracks from 145 street to Dyckman Street, and then has 3 tracks until just south of 242nd street.

If there is a problem at 145 can the (1) just simply just skip that station ?

  8. Why couldn’t the southbound go to Myrtle?

    Delays Posted: 06/19/2018  8:17PM

Service is resuming at this time in both directions on the (L) line. Expect significant delays as congestion clears. Earlier, service was suspended for approximately 2.5 hours between Lorimer St and Broadway Junctionbecause of a person struck by a train at Wilson Av. We restored service as soon as emergency medical personnel completed their work and were clear of the tracks.

    Delays Posted: 06/19/2018  8:30PM

Service is now resuming in both directions on the (L) line after a fatality on the tracks.  Expect continuing delays as congestion clears. Thank you for your patience.

Why couldn’t the southbound go to

    Myrltle?

  9. I’m happy that the MTA is starting to say “a train,s emergency brakes were automatically activated” . It sounds a little weird but it’s the truth vs “a train with mechanical problems”. Probobaly some passengers think “What.? How many trains are emergency brakes automatically activated? It feels like a lot but it’s not really a lot.

    Service Change

    Posted: 05/29/2018  8:42AM

An unauthorized person on the tracks died after making contact with the third rail. We know some of you are on the train outside of stations and we are working to restore service as soon as possible. For now, please see details of service changes below.

There is no (2) and (5) train service between 149 St-Grand Concourse and E 180 St in both directions.

Some northbound (2) trains end at 34 St-Penn Station.

Some northbound (2) trains are stopping along the  line from 96 St to 137 St-City College.

Some northbound (2) train are stopping along the (3) line form 135 St to Harlem-148 St.

Northbound (5) trains end at 149 St-Grand Concourse upper level.

Please see a station agent to get a block ticket for service on another train or bus.

The MTA rarely admits that people are outside a station waiting . That being said I’m wondering if they really had be in the tunnel/outside a station. If it’s outside maybe they can walk to the nearest station (being that power was off anyway) or it’s too dangerous since people may fall down below ?

In any case both incidents are not the MTA’s fault so people shouldn’t bash them about being late for work .

im wondering though if they had to turn off power on all tracks in both incidents

  11. Does anyone know why the Franklin Ave (S) can never work on subway time. Many times it Dosent even display Scheduled times. Its not the most crucial line but if I’m getting off the train at Franklin ave/Botanic Garden it would be useful to know if a train came in or didn’t yet.

The (B) Train didn't get suspended at all actually.

Maybe it would have been a good idea to run some (B) trains via Broadway to 96 st but they didn’t do that or suspend it . They thought the best thing was just to run some via the (A) and (F) line which is ok I guess until that fire came up at Avenue I. That must have been crazy turning 4 lines at Church Ave.Is that even possible ?

  13. I still don’t understand what happened yesterday morning I wasn’t there but it Seems an (R) was stalled due to some signal problem.I still think it’s not fair for customers to have to sit on a train due to signal problems can’t the train have left and they could have taken care of the problem later.Am I missing something?

It depends on the severity of the issue. This one is clearly a big problem, as I was caught up in the delays due to this around 6pm; it's now 8:30 and trains still aren't operating normally. Unfortunately, the MTA says "signal problems" to mean just about anything, without regard for the severity or type of issue, nor do they give estimates of when service will be back up and running (as some other transit agencies do), so the riding public is largely left in the dark about what exactly is taking place.

So no trains were going to Astoria ? They didn’t clearly writt that.

    Service Change  Posted: 05/02/2018 11:11PM

Some southbound (1) and (2) trains end at Rector St because of switch problems at South Ferry.

    Expect delays in both directions.

Travel Alternative, passengers can take nearby (N)(R) train service stopping at nearby (1) stations.

Are they using the loop still for turning around if needed?
