  1. The Bx22 is very well-used along Unionport Road that you could spend about 10 minutes traveling along the route within the Parkchester complex.
  2. But it is light compared to the crowd at Jerome Avenue.
  3. The only thing I would do to the Bx18 is send it to Gateway, but via Macombs, Jerome and River to provide the connection at 170th St. For those worried about the , most Bx18 riders usually use the bus to reach the since the nearby Bx3 and Bx36 in Morris Heights connect to West Side lines such as the and .
  4. Actually, the old Bx24 now would do wonders, especially with Target and the stores now open (unlike back in 1995).
  5. I wouldn't think so as the Southern Blvd stops are pretty trafficked (southbound for those heading to the and and northbound for those bound for Fordham, Kingsbridge and Riverdale). For me, it would be better to create a Bx9 short-turn between Fordham Plaza and 225th St/Broadway since that's where most of the Bx9 usage is.
  6. No for two reasons: -Many of the big stops are pretty close apart, especially between 225th/Bway and Fordham Plaza. -Traffic, which makes the Bx9 prone to bunching, would deter any little time savings.
  7. My biggest concern with this route is the narrow streets along 183rd Street and the often-delayed 187th Street. This would be more evident with the upcoming Fordham Plaza construction which would cause Fordham Road to be closed to all traffic except for buses and emergency vehicles.
  8. My guess for 2001 being the cut-off date is because after 9/11, there was more political correctness in cartoons thanks to the pressure from watchdog groups (like the Parents Television Council). Nowadays, you don't see someone like Tom or Jerry get hit by an iron.
  9. My guess is maximizing little-used routes such as the Q26, Q31, Q76, among others to attract riders to them, taking away ridership from high-volume routes such as the Q27.
  10. Here's my take on it: http://goo.gl/maps/6fNlA
  11. The Q51 looks great. It has promise since Ridgewood, Glendale, Bushwick and East New York could reach jobs and schools in Central/Eastern Queens. I would like to see a route that runs between the Ridgewood Terminal and Jackson Heights to allow for access from North/Central Brooklyn to the jobs in Jackson Heights/Corona/LGA Airport.
  12. But it's not the fact of serving two stops, but it's a quicker ride to the train from Eliot Avenue. In addition, Eliot Av riders would have access to Metro Mall and the connection to the Q58 LTD at Metro/Fresh Pond instead of the local at Eliot/Fresh Pond.
  13. With your Q38 in Middle Village, I would have it rerouted between 69th/Eliot and Metro/Forest in order to provide a quicker connection to the and access to Metro Mall. Route: Eliot Av, 69th St, Metropolitan Av, Forest Av The rest of your stuff looks good though.
  14. Eastbound buses can cross Queens Blvd, but westbound cannot.
  15. The core of the Q19's ridership is in East Elmhurst (mainly between 108th and 92nd Sts).
  16. Yes, on the Q38, I would extend it past Greenpoint Av station to Williamsburg Bridge Plaza, running along Kent and Wythe Avs, in order to serve the residents in the new housing developments. Route: Greenpoint Av, Franklin St, Kent/Wythe Avs, Broadway
  17. If the Bx55 is kept, send the Q94 to Yankee Stadium via 3rd Av/163rd/Elton/161st to add connections to the and , serve the Courts, and the rapidly-growing Melrose community. I would also have the Q94 run local west of 163rd/3rd Av since all of those stops between 3rd Av and Yankee Stadium get very good ridership. As for its limited stops, I would also add 156th St/3rd Av in order to serve the DMV, the northern portion of The Hub shopping district, and South Bronx High School.
  18. What about those coming from the Western Bronx (such as the Concourse) who need Queens?
  19. I don't agree with it since Brook Av only has a connection to the Bx17. If you connect the Q94 at 3rd av/138th ST, there would be more bus connections (to the Bx1 for Grand Concourse, the Bx32 for Morris Av) and it's an express stop on the line.
  20. I have a better idea, have it use the following travel path Queens-bound: down 3rd Av, right on 139th St, left on Morris Av, right on 138th St, left on Deegan Expwy, take I-87 south to RFK Bridge, then Astoria Blvd and regular route to LGA Fordham-bound: take RFK Bridge to Deegan Expwy, take I-87 North to Exit 2 (Willis Av), right on Lincoln Av, right on 3rd Av It would allow for a connection to the at 3rd Av/138th St, providing access from the Southeast Bronx (such as Soundview, Hunts Point, Parkchester) to Queens and LGA Airport.
  21. I looked at your Q94 and there's a problem; no turns are allowed at 149th STreet and Melrose Avenue (except that right turn that the Bx41 and a million others make there).
  22. With the B28 proposal, I prefer it using 9th Street since it's a much busier corridor than Prospect Avenue.
  23. With your Bx5A, the reasons why Bruckner Blvd between White Plains and Castle Hill don't have service are 1) traffic along the Bruckner service road and 2) demand for Stevenson High School, PS 138, and the nearby Castle Hill Houses.
  24. It would allow for the core of the Bx3's service to focus on its busiest corridor, which is from Kingsbridge Road to Morris Heights. But like I said, it would create more harm than good.
