  1. Today I took the N4 from Jamaica Center to Hook Creek Blvd. Fortunately for me, the bus was a Cummins. It brought back memories. It was a nice ride. Unlike a hybrid, I actually had legroom. After I got off I took some N4 and X63 pics (which will be posted next week)

After my mini-busfan trip I walked to Green Acres Mall. I haven't been to the mall in years (even though it's the closest mall to my house). After shopping at Walmart, I entered the mall. It was renovated. The interior almosts looks like a miniature Roosevelt Field. However, it was lipstick on a pig. The ghetto fabulous crowd still hangs out at the mall. Most of the stores were the same as the last time I went to the mall (an arcade that used to be at the mall closed down). Green Acres isn't as bad as Kings Plaza. Nevertheless, it's not in the league of the Palisades or Roosevelt Field.

  2. The people in Sutton Place are such elitists. There's this small park on 51st Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. It's called Greenacre Park. It is the most beautiful park I've ever seen. This morning I went to take a picture. As I took out my camera, I saw a big sign that said, "Absoulutely no photographs". The security guard was right there. I'm so disgusted.

  3. Its amazing that the Japanese(Kawasaki) and the canadians(Bombardier) know our habits so well. How they know we like to eat and drink on the go by putting cupholders in the cockpit LOL.

America is slowly losing its status as a superpower. Americans don't invent or build anything anymore...

Back to the topic, here's a MTA press release (with a few pics) about the M8:

  4. Meh, possibly, :P... They do look rough and they do look like they have harder than usual seats which sucks but keeps commuters from doozin' off after a long day of work.

The M8 seats are actually pretty comfortable. They had a mock up a while ago.

  5. Weekend service needs an extension; hands down!

Extra Express service, is a great step in the right direction, but, still- 30 minute weekend headways is way too long....

They never get it , do they? MTA SIR has the ridership for at least minimum 20 minute weekend headways, and if they really want to be nice, every 15 minutes. The 30 minute headways will eventually have to go; Staten Island is booming with thousands moving in (with little room, left on the island that is; they should tear down whatever 6 trees are left on the island , and build more houses) but, more people, means more mass transit, which means, MTA , get a step on it, and expand weekend service!

To be honest, the SIRT is fairly empty on weekends. There's usually no more than 15 people in a car.
