  1. This nasty female driver almost refused to let me on bus because I photographed her bus before long time ago. Even thought I said I don't have camera anymore, she didn't trust me.

You should have reminded her it's Nassau County's bus not hers....

Tip for bus fan who want to photograph NICE Bus:

Please don't take picture of 8:25 n20 Hicksville on Sunday. This nasty female driver almost refused to let me on bus because I photographed her bus before long time ago. Even thought I said I don't have camera anymore, she didn't trust me.

You should have asked to see the rule where you can be denied boarding unless the driver trusts you won't take a picture.

These people are unbelievable, cops in public can be filmed (unless you're being detained) and bus drivers think they are above it..  lmao

Keep in mind most bus drivers aren't foamers so when they see people taking pictures they think it is going to be used to try to get them in trouble.

  2. The other bus that you said was in a tarp might be either 3218 (fire damage) or either 3180/3185(forgot the number, it hit something in Manhattan)

It didn't look like fire damage and it didn't look like an (MTA) bus, I was thinking one of the Brooklyn Jewish buses, PANYNJ bus, or some other bus at the airport (Delta, parking, car rental)...

I'm in that area once a week, I can try to swing by and get a pic next week...

  3. I was surprised the accident happened in April and it looks like the bus hasn't been touched... Do (MTA) buses usually go over 3 months before being having anything done with them?  I mean this bus has a door that doesn't close and a broken windshield that's left the bus open to the elements, not tarp, plastic nothing...  Aren't they afraid of water damage or anything in 3 months?

Why would a bus sit so long without being fixed?  Could the (MTA) wait for insurance money (assuming the other party is at fault)? Could the bus have been impounded by the DOT or city for a safety check after the accident?  What?

  4. 3000 was in an accident recently. It hit a garbage truck.

But man, that bus is a tank, barely took any damage.

    Of course... It's an MCI...

    Against a car, that's understandable.

But head-on with a GARBAGE TRUCK? Those front ends are usually smashed in!

Sorry for the crappy quality (as I was driving by when I took the pic) but 3000 (last on right) is parked tonight in Northeastern Bus Rebuilders' Deer Park lot.  This bus wasn't there when I drove by on Friday (a couple of SCT buses, (MTA) 3329 and an unidentified bus with heavy damage wrapped in a tarp).,I passed turned around and took a pic as I passed, the damage is looks much worse in person, my first reaction was "f--k, what did you hit?  A quick search here revealed the accident with the garbage truck....  As you might be able to make out in the pic the windshield is broken, front bashed in (not too bad), with damage to the fenders, passenger door, and mirror.  I assume the bus was towed (or put on a lowboy) to Deer Park?

Anyone know how hard the bus was going when it hit the garbage truck?  A tank?  Yes, but it still looks like a pretty hard hit (20-30mph, not a tap lol) the pic doesn't do the damage justice.

  5.

    Starting June 22nd, the n87 stops at Hicksville, Newbridge Road, East Meadow, Wantagh, Freeport, Jones Beach Bathouses & Cental Mall, then returns to Freeport;

Oh man, I tried finding a n87 map but couldn't.  Is the bus going from Wantagh to Freeport, THEN to Jones Beach?  If that's the case I've never been on a n87 (or 88) and never will be.  Why not just send the bus on the WSP?  not enough pax?  Isn't that how the bus went last year? WSP?  Will the 87 still be going down to Merrick? There is still a bus stop sign on Merrick Rd. under the WSP bridge that intersects Merrick Rd., if that sign remains people will get confused!

  6. NICE sucks big time.

Hmm how many times did you say it? 200 or 400 or more I lost count.

He has nothing else to do since NICE fired him...

boo hoo cry me a river. If you hate LI so much leave.

    Seriously.

Well Westchester gets it more than Nassau, thats why they have more walkable communities & young people moving in, instead of leaving. But Mangano doesn't want to put the money into that, hence the aging, decaying suburb known as Nassau...

Let's all pitch in and buy Pine a one way ticket to westchester!  People are leaving Long Island because it is expensive not because of NICE or Westchester having more walkable communities.  These people have cars but are still leaving...

  7. Unless Macy's was once at that shopping center and then moved at one point, since the S58 schudule list's Macy's Shopping Center and yet on the S56 schudule it says Commack Shopping Center. (Unless it's two diffrent shopping centers' conjoined and one just happens to be called Macy's for some reason.)

Well being that it's Commack Shopping Center, then it brings back into play that it could have been a bus from EBT.

I really don't think it's called "Macy's Shopping Center" as Macy's would probably be more than happy to call it that.  It is confusing I do believe it is two different shopping centers right next to each other and probably called many things over the years...

  8. I wouldn't be suprised if that bus from EBT was the bus that was hit by the taxi cab, That's my guess since I haven't heard of any other buses that would need a new back panel....

That's what I was thinking...  Although anything could've happened that we would know of (accident in the yard) etc...  If you recall right before Veolia took over in Nassau County half of LIB's buses didn't pass DOT inspection so the (MTA) sent city buses over to keep the system running.  A LIB driver backed into another city bus (I think at HTC) and there is (or was) a city bus running around with an obvious LIB back.

, especially I haven't heard of any of Suffolk Bus's 30ft buses (the only company that had 30ft buses that would be in that area.) being hit from behind.

I'm not sure if it was a 30 or 35 foot, went by too fast...

  9. Couple of notes...

5031 was broken down out of service with its engine compartment open during the PM at Walt Whitman Mall...

There was a new model 35 foot (or shorter) Orion with a completely white back at the Mayfair Shopping Center in Commack. I couldn't seethe number of the bus but the back was obviously a replacement, really looked like an (MTA) Orion and looked wired being a short bus.

(At least EBT buses) "follow us on twitter" is starting to pop up on the rear of the side body with with #sctbus (or something like that) and the twitter logo in between the stripes on the livery...

  10. Yep, I saw that bus on Friday afternoon at HTC. I heard somebody on the bus say "Damn, are they that desperate with buses to pull out that rusted hunk of junk?"

I would've decked 'em! One of those people who think a bad joke is funny or can't respect a classic, either way they deserve to be hit.

You know you're a foamer when you have to call your boss and tell him you'll be late because you had to get on 9117 that you saw at HTC... You know your boss isn't a foamer when he can't understand why you missed a half of day of work because you had to get on the "wrong bus" that blew your mind.. lol
