  1. Dedicated in terms of how much money this order is making them:p But I believe the Lapa Brazil body facility and the Hornell N.Y facility do other rail cars and other equipment.Maybe what they meant by that is that they may have re-tooled their facility to specifically handle the R160 Order.Isn`t it crazy that Kawasaki is the head of the r160 project!!! which is why Alstom R160s are riding on Kawasaki trucks.Im telling you Kawasaki are running things and not just trains either.
  2. Alstom`s facility s in hornell and I believe they have a 1 mile test track for all types of rail equipment.
  3. Plus Amtrak would not go for that.Believe it or not my wife asked me that same question awhile back.
  4. Hey welcome. Are you the same deaks from this other site i use to be on?I think it was the other side of the tracks or something.

  5. LIRR has been getting more attention than metro north don`t you think?
  6. Cool,I wonder how the first two are doing test wise.Any info on that?
  7. In a way yes.Of course there are going to be final touches, but from the look of the final interior they`re the same.:tup:On the plus sie the bathroom in the mock-up is very spacious:tup:
  8. There wasn`t enough leg room in the mock-ups.
  9. Isn`t the location of this pic at Kawasaki? Are you pulling my chain?
  10. The M8`s just arrived in New Haven!! They had a big unveiling with gov Jodi Rell,Kawasaki and MNRR workers according to the Stamford advocate.Damn I need to get photos of these bad boys ASAP!!
  11. I have to disagree with you on this one Rocky.Although they are old,the oldest have been around since 1972 which means that they ae well built trains.Believe me when you ride one of these old dogs on the new haven line going over 70 MPH:tup:But I respect your opinion. But I forgot you mentioned the M4 which is basically the same, but are built by Tokyu car corp of japan 1987.Yonger than the M2 and run in triplets.Only 54 of the triplet cars:(
  12. Wait.So the are already stateside? Brake problems? So they aren`t piggybacking them here I guess. It would be cool to see them on flatbed cars.
  13. I hope thats true.Being that I live right in stamford I might get a first glance!(gets the camera ready)
  14. Dude thanks for the friend request

  15. I`m having a hard time posting pics on the site.I tried everything from changing URL`s to pic sizes.I would like to post pics here.If it isn`t too much, would anyone like to post the pics for me? for example if I do a R44 thread but can`t post pics some one can for me.what I can do is post links so someone can use them to post for me.If there are any suggestions or ideas let me know or help a brotha out.I really appriciate it.Thanks guys.
  16. I nsure hope so,especially Amtrak.Their whole infrastructure needs a make over.
  17. For example.Look at the Kawasaki R62`s.They been around since 83` and have a great track record.
  18. Hey thanks for the friend request.I accepted ya!!!

  19. Ty thanks for the request.I added ya!!

  20. Lets keep our fingers cross that things work out.Im confident the Japanese could do the job.
  21. Your right Metsfan. The cosmos have been doing this for over 30 years. The M8s though are a much heavier piece of equipment and requires more power. As we speak,metro-north are working around the clock to update the electrical distribution system to the cantenary, once it was theorized that the M8`s had the potential to blow out substations due to its heavy power consumption similar to what the M7`s were doing.
  22. I think they will do great, I think the biggest hurdle would be how the car works running on three different voltages.
