Well we know there's 183 2020 MCI's and we know those will occupy 20001-20183 so round up and they'll probably start at 20201. The only thing that could possibly throw a wrench in things is if the pilot buses are 2019 models not 2020's...

I'm not sure the specifics on that but a few XD60's in the 1920x range might be possible.

Speaking of which, when is the first XD60 bus due at NJT?

I agree I said that above.

First off wrong Michael. Not all buses are out on the road during the peak period rolling on the streets. There should be spare buses in each garage besides Oradell just in case of a break down. The problem is you along with NJ Transit have an outdated bus garage in Oradell sitting close by a river which is a no no, can't get 45 footers up in there. Don't know if NJT gave up or not of finding property to buy to build a state of the art bus depot in Bergen County that can house 300 buses if not more. I say more because you will never know about Rockland Coaches with their operations.

Politics plays a role in our transportation infrastructure. The public can be at fault too by electing those officials that are not pro transportation. Also not holding the those officials, NJ Transit board and the Port Authority accountable. Sucks we can't have a nice bus structure like those countries in Europe

There are some nice big places that could have been a NJT bus garage just north of the current one. But people seem to want golf courses instead of transit. Can't have it both ways.

According to a streetview picture on Google maps, it appears that a Neoplan has been prepped for scrapping over at Ironbound/Newark Bus Complex. Where the NJT waves are located on the bus have been painted black. Can't tell if it's a 95XX or a 96XX series.

That looks like primer for damage repair because the window is broken. Not being scrapped.

The Neoplans will start going once the New Flyer artics arrive sometime this fall. It will take about a year to deliver all 85 buses in the order. The current breakdown of garages using artic buses is:

    Fairview - 7 transits, all 36 suburbans
    Big Tree - 20 transits
    Hilton - 22 transits

The real fun is going to begin if NJT picks up the option for another 85 artics. where are they going to put them?

Thanks Dave that will be fun but the extra 85 are greatly needed.

I am going down to Toms River today so I will look for any of those buses.

18125 is on the 559 right now, around Stafford Twp. heading towards Lakewood

Dave i wonder if you know the answer to this ?  Before NJT went to 5 digit bus numbers like 16001 what would have been the last bus to have a 4 digit number ?  My guess would be either 4042 Mci hybrid or 7362 Mci cng not sure which order finished last.

Actually that was year two of the contract. Year One was 17000-17184. Year Two is 17185-17240 and 18001-18129. (I think 17185 is non revenue training unit above and beyond the contract.) As with last year, there may still be a bunch of 18000's before the 19000's start rolling off the assembly line.

I meant to say year 2 for NJT buses not the privates. Thanks
