  1. Okay, thanks. Figured as much..... Lmao @ playing tag. Its da truth!!! Actually, in both directions those buses play tag...... Yeah, its similar to the mall on Ralph Ave with the IHOP inside(Georgetown Plaza???). Like the idea of adding more JFK bound service...... See my signature pertaining the B14. The 13 still goes inside the postal facility? Wow.... If the 14 was to get extended to the 79-Linden, Is it possible that the turnaround can be a similar setup like the B25 at Alabama? Must have been an old timer, reliving his/her rookie days by using a Spring Creek-Drew St destination sign.... A lil off topic, I was driving up Flatbush Ave Saturday afternoon and noticed that is becoming like Brewer Blvd with the dollar van equipment. When did this start? Thanks for the response, fellas......
  2. The B15 is a weird route as other have mentioned. Its starts off as a North/South route, then it becomes an east/west route south of Brookdale Hospital. Its basically two routes combined into one. The thing is, that the B15 carries along the whole route. I lived along the B15 and have friends that live along the route at various points, that bus stays crowded. Even late nights, the B15 is sometimes SRO.... 1. The route begins at a hospital. 2. Runs through Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights, through some notable housing projects and another hospital. 3. Major transfer points in Ocean Hill and Brownsville,( St. Johns-Ralph and E.N.Y-Ralph). 4. Stopping at a major hospital and transfer points (Brookdale and Rockaway-Hegeman). 5. Two major subway connections in ENY. 6. More notable projects in ENY. Now with that "mall" opening up at 79-Linden, more passengers will be getting on and off the JFK B15. I would try artics if possible, before thinking about a limited. I wouldnt be surprised if the short turn gets extended to that "mall" at 79-Linden.... My question is, as others asked, where would the route split at? As a former Crown Heights resident, Eastern Parkway-Utica is not doable. Back in the day, B14/17 had their own stand, now its all one stop. Maybe at the old Williamsburg bound B46 bus stop on the far side of Utica(Mc Donalds). Then return via St.Johns to Ralph and then current route..... The bus bunching on the B15 is ridiculous and need to be looked at.........
  3. Good to see 7152 running around today, two days after being involved in a fatal accident........ Good to see 7152 running around today, two days after being involved in a fatal accident........
  4. Saw 8487 on the Q1 yesterday. Just saw 8484 on the Q2 a few minutes ago. Both at 179th Street station......
  5. Avoid Merrick Blvd from Farmers Blvd to Archer Ave. Q85 bus are being diverted from 140 Avenue and Farmers to Guy Brewer. Just saw Prevost #2509 on the Van Wyck being used as a police bus.
  6. Just saw a pic of 7370 on the Q17 and I believe that 7373 was on the Q5 recently. Is Jamaica depot testing the New Flyer XD40s or it was a school tripper?
  7. East New York Nova LFS 8119 have an ad on the back. East New York NF XD40 4810 have new destination signage. Looks like that of the newer XD40s....
  8. Just spotted 8092 on the Q3 @ Guy Brewer and Farmers. Should be at Terminal 5 by now.
  9. I saw 8107 getting some assistance back to the depot last night....
  10. Chances are highly unlikely that will see a R143 on the . They don't want those cars buried along Queens Boulevard/Jamaica Yard overnights and weekends. Same reason that you don't see CBTC equipped R160s on the .
  11. Saw 5364 testing on Guy Brewer and Farmers Blvd this afternoon around 4:30pm........
  12. Just saw 7132 and what I think is 7130 heading west on Linden Blvd by Van Siclen Ave.....
  13. Okay, thanks about 3503. When I saw it on Monday on the Q9, it was still sporting BP stickers...........
  14. I wonder if the Flatbush XD40 will be use for the B46SBS?
  15. Just saw 7322-25 heading west on Flatlands Ave at Ralph Ave. I'm guessing Flatbush depot..... In this order: 7322-23-25-7324.
  16. 4614 on the B83. Still have FLA decals on her....... Don't know if its a school tripper, was seen about a hour ago heading towards the Junction.......
  17. You have a point here; Of those that actually use the Q24 @ the first stop, you do have those that walk it out to/from the 46 (hell, I've done it myself to fan that route)..... Still though, all things considered, I don't know why they brought back that part of the Q24 (west of B'way Junction) in the first place..... They may as well have brought back the B12 along Liberty - since they've opted to revert wasteful portions of routings...... .....But to answer/opinionate on your question, probably had/has something to do w/ the sheer amount of (short turn) B46's that layover on Dekalb (b/w reid malcolm x & broadway).... That, and lafayette/patchen is a more feasible turnaround, I suppose I was actually thinking the same thing, but I figured that the Q24 can layover on Malcolm X Blvd and DeKalb, and turnaround back onto Bway for service to Jamaica. Or.... layover on Malcolm X and Lafayette, then right onto Lafayette, followed by a right onto Bway then regular...... That, and lafayette/patchen is a more feasible turnaround, I suppose...... Guess you didn't see that whole recent craptastic fiasco regarding cutting the B38 Metropolitan av branch.... (you can read the entire discussion/shitstorm that spanned about 3-4 pages if you want)
  18. IDK, why TA didn't extend the Q24 three short blocks to DeKalb Ave- Malcolm X Blvd when service was restored. Provide direct connection to the B46/B46LTD.....
  19. Even though Pitkin might be an odd place to terminate, I think that you'll be get some people using that service to get the shopping I. The area.........
  20. Definitely in agreement on the B20 aka "the hood shuttle" ...... Those JFK bound B15 buses are packed. And its not just customers that are headed to the airport. There are a number of people, including myself at times, that transfer to the Q3 for eastern Queens. Why the B65 to Pitkin? Bring people to Pitkin Ave BID and connections to the B12/14 for eastbound service. It could be used as a supplement to the B12 and to a certain extent, the B25 if extended to Bwy Jct. Similar to the B7/82.
  21. Wow, finally caught up in this thread. Interesting posts and ideas including the ones I made..... Some thoughts and proposals: 1. Thoughts on a B16 extension to Utica Ave IRT ,, station. From current terminal via Empire Blvd to Troy and follow B17 routing around the area.... 2. I like the B23 crosstown idea to Canarsie, but would it better serve the community if stayed on Beverly Rd/ Ave.B until Remsen Ave? 3. No B12 to Prospect Park. Parkside-Ocean is good enough. It has enough to deal just to get to Ocean from Clarkson/Woodruff...... 4. Leave the B20 alone. The northern portion serves its purpose as mentioned earlier. For those seeking Downtown Brooklyn service after Bway Jct, stay on until Decatur and walk two blocks for the B26. The southern portion definitely is the money maker on the route..... 5. Idk what can be done about the B15. Hopefully this latest service change on the route improves it somewhat. 6. Thoughts on a B65 extension to Pitkin Ave, via St. John's Place and Saratoga Ave......
