    2. (R) trains run in two sections:

    i) Forest Hills to 57th Street-7th Avenue.

    3. (Q) trains run from Forest Hills, run local in Queens, and on the 6th Avenue line to Brighton Beach via Brighton Express. *

  2. The X switch on the (A)(C) tracks right north of Jay Street have malfunctioned and no trains may pass through those tracks. The other switches in that area and the outer tracks ( (F) train) are unaffected.

NO FOAMING. If you say remove a train from the transit museum, and deposit tons of people in the middle of an open museum from this, I will get high on LSD and eat your face until the cops shoot me dead.

    That's a toughie.

    1. Run the (C) between 205th Street and Chambers Street.

    2. Run the (A) between Utica Avenue and Leffers and the Rockaways.

    3. Extend the (S) to Euclid.

    4. Service suspended between Chambers Street and Utica Avenue. For some service to Brooklyn, take the (F).

  3. In any case, the thing with the documents is that sometimes the answers are so simple that you overthink them. I remember on one of the practice Regents, they showed a map of the U.S. during the civil war, showing the states that seceeded first (the Deep South, like South Carolina and Georgia), and then the states that seceeded later (the Upper South, like Virginia), and then the border states. Then they asked "What was one problem faced by Lincoln during his presidency?", and I'm sitting there trying to think of the answer, and then I check the answer key, and it just says "the problem was that Union was divided" or something like that. I was thinking "That's it????????", so sometimes it comes down to overthinking it.

That's the primary reason as to why Lincoln lead us into the war. It was preservation of the Union, because otherwise democracy would have been a big failure.

  4. Good luck with this one! :)

Due to flooding, no (A), (B), (C), (D), (E), (F), and (M) trains can pass through West 4 Street in either direction.

    (B): No service

    (C): Canal Street-Lefferts Blvd

(D): 205th Street-34th Street (Local all the way); Broadway/Lafeyette-Coney Island

(E): No service (Jamaica-Van Wyck closed)

(F): 179th Street-34th Street; Delancey Street-Coney Island (Local to Forest Hills, express to Manhattan)

    (M): Metropolitan Avenue-Chambers Street

    (S): Euclid Avenue-The Rockaways

  5. What about keeping things simple?:

    (Q) 96 St. - Coney Island via Brighton, Broadway Express, via Bridge, Brighton Local

  6. Ok, ok, I know this is going way out there, and there are hundreds of reasons why it should be shot down, but how about, in order to not have to deal with the NIMBYs that block Astoria, and LGA, it goes through Rikers?

That'd turn the Astoria line into the most dangerous subway line, even if it didn't stop there. Someone in the prison would find a way down there. Maybe some one does a Dufresne with the pipes.

  7. Most of the media don't even know what the (C ) line uses, rather then saying R32, they are sayingt he (C ) line cars

It's a pet peeve of mine. And besides, when summer comes, the general public will probably think it's the R32 or R46.

  8. This is the link to the contract:

    http://www.mta.info/..._March_2012.pdf

    In short:

    R179

    300 B-Division cars

These 300 cars, according to the contract, will be used to replace the R32 and R42 units.

The 10 test cars are scheduled to be delivered 31 months after the Notice of Award (NOA).

Delivery of the cars will commence 38 months after NOA.

Delivery of the cars will be complete 56 months after NOA.

It seems that they will be both 4 car and 5 car sets that will run on the Eastern Division lines and on the Eight Avenue Local.

  9. Funny you bring up that part of the Lex, the other day I just realized the (4)/(5) take the same amount of time to travel from 125th to Grand Central as Metro North (10 minutes).

    Mind = Blown.

Maybe it's because Metro-North trains have to switch many across many tracks.
