  1. Why split the (N)? If the (W) comes back, I think the best that can be done is this:
    • (N) 96 Street/Coney Island part-time
      • Day: Broadway express, 4 Avenue express, via Manhattan Bridge, via Sea Beach
      • Night: service shortened to 59 Street/Coney Island

      [*](Q) 96 Street/Coney Island full-time

      • Day/Night: Broadway express, via Manhattan Bridge

      [*](R) Astoria/Bay Ridge full-time

      • Day/Night: Astoria local, Broadway local

      [*](W) Forest Hills/Whitehall Street daytime

      • Day: Queens Boulevard local, Broadway local
      • Night: (no service)

[*](M) Forest Hills/Middle Village part-time (increased service to maintain Queens Boulevard local service)

      • Day: Queens Boulevard local, Broadway local
      • Night: service shortened to Middle Village/Myrtle Avenue

This setup achieves all of these goals:

    • 2 Avenue has a high frequency of service. Switching is only around DeKalb Avenue and that's pretty much what will determine throughput for 2 Avenue and Broadway express service.
    • The status quo is pretty much the same for the night as before the service cuts in 2010: one Broadway express, one Broadway local, and one shuttle in Brooklyn.
    • Spending is only increased to extend additional trains to 2 Avenue and for Astoria (to make up for having only one route serving it). 4 Avenue and Bay Ridge, consequently, get increased service as well.
    • Each service still retains a single identity. If the terminal changes during the night, it's only because it's shortened; there is no splitting.

The (R) was switched to from Astoria to Forest Hills because it had no direct access to any yard. If it returns to Astoria it would return that problem.

  2. Also for those that wish to know what the BMT el's are, those are:

(J)(M) from Marcy Av to Met Av/121st.

    (N)(Q) Queensboro Plaza to Ditmars

    (7) Willets Pt to Court Sq (BMT el, IRT stations and line, of course connected to the Astoria el)

    (D) 9Av to Bay 50th

    (Q)(;) Brighton Beach to CI

    (F) CI to Ditmas

Isn't the Fulton Street line from 88 Avenue to Lefferts Blvd BMT? It was built under the Dual Contracts for the BMT. And of course, the Canarsie line south of Broadway Junction and just after New Lots Avenue is elevated.

  3. Well, well, well... Guess who ate rabbit for the first time? :)

The meat looks like chicken meat, and tastes a lot like chicken. The meat, though, is bit tough and dry.

My only real complaint is that the breast had a lot of small bones, something I don't experience with chicken breast.

  4. 1) Due to a water main break both levels of the 149th Street-Grand Concourse (2)(4)<4>(5)<5>.

    2) A put in (5) train derails while Passing through the Inner South Ferry Loop

    3) The grade junction north of 135th street (2)(3) malfunctions meaning trains cant pass in both directions from both lines

    4) Construction on the (7)<7> extension to 34th street has finally made progress but requires the closing of 42nd street terminal

How Would You Change Service?

Well, I'll assume these happen the same day and time.

    1) A) If the water is just limited to that station:

    i) (2) trains run in two sections:

    a) Between Wakefield - 241st Street and 3 Avenue - 149th Street.

;) Between 96th Street and Flatbush Avenue. (Junction problems north of 135th Street).

ii) (4) trains run in two sections:

    a) Between Woodlawn and 167th Street (trains heading to Woodlawn run on the express track, skipping 170th Street, Mt. Eden Avenue, and 176th Street, and returning to the local track after Burnside Avenue).

:( Between 125th Street and Utica Avenue. Very limited service to 138th Street.

iii) (5) trains run only between 180th Street and Dyre Avenue. Manhattan and Brooklyn service suspended.

    B) If the water affects nearby tunnels:

    i) (2) service run in suspended in the Bronx below 180th Street. Manhattan and Brooklyn service same as above.

ii) (5) service same as above.

iii) (4) service same as above with no service to the Bronx.

    2) (5) service same as above because of the problem above.

    3) (2) service same as above because of the problem above. (3) service runs between 110th Street and New Lots Avenue.

    4) (7) trains run between Flushing - Main Street and Grand Central.

  5. Big Ups to you. I couldn't touch the long one's. Therefore a stove, pot, and water comes in handy . B)

Well, I once killed a big roach in my math class when everyone else was to scared to even look at it. Although when I went to 34th Street to take pictures of the (E), and wanted to take a frontal shot of the (E) at the south end of the southbound platform, I saw a lone dead roach and two other, big ones there. They spooked me, because I'd never seen that specific species of roach before, and I didn't want one crawling up on me.

  6. I just killed a house centipede. I actually don't mind them in my house at all since they eat other small annoying insects (Ants sometimes make their way in here since my backyard isn't too far). Thou the one I just killed was long and creepy looking. Sorry brotha, you gotta go. Here's a good close up of these little helpers:

I don't kill them. I'll just release them to the wild. However, my mom kinda freaks out when she sees one, so I have to tell her that they're not like roaches.
