Your ears heard correct. As for 100+ PT, that's news to me. When I left in 2010, it was about 73, including retirees. But, yeah, it was nuts. Summer time, you'd get hours cuz of Six Flags and 319 trips but after that, you'd have to hope someone called out, get sick, or died to get hours. Yes, that's ****** up, but it's the truth. That's why I rather be in Oradell cuz at least there's hours there.

BTW - If you was to work at NJT, you have to have a MINIMUM 4 weeks training, no matter if you have your CDL with P & Z endorsements or not. 5 weeks if you work at a garage with artics.

I hate to tell you this but I'm going to bet 90% that if you do not live in NJ, you won't work at NJT. Christie signed some type of rule saying that if you are going to work at NJT, you have to live in NJ. Now, this is NEW Hires. People that already were living in other states before this was signed, they are grandfathered, or they're exempted unless they resign and try to get back in the company.

User R44 CNG made it. I was asking him the same thing but I haven't heard nothing yet.

Good choice and he did the same for me. He's a good person. If you get in Oradell, you're set. Meadowlands is ok but the hours they give changes like the season bro. Plus, the supervisor is not exactly PEOPLE FRIENDLY.
-
Howell is a garage where people do complain and complain a lot. If you can get the 128 from Howell, you're lucky. Otherwise it's hell with the 139. I would say to go Meadowlands but the supervisor is not a people person, and will immediately blame the driver for any issues instead of finding out the facts (and i will say this tilll I die, he shouldn't be one since he never driven a bus in his life). Oradell or Wayne is your best bet, IMO.

Oradell had to use Meadowlands for a while to park their buses. It was a nightmare. What are you looking for exactly? BTW - Training is $10 a hour, M - F from 8 to 4:30pm

Go to 180 Boyden Avenue in Maplewood. Take either the 70 or the 25 from Penn Station and tell the driver you're trying to get in the Maplewood GOB Office to fill an application. (2 zones ride).
P/T's don't have set hours, it's more on their availability. I got over 2,000 hours since I was available 8am to whenever. I didn't do morning shifts at all. Once or twice on a emergency but that's it. You'll need a minimum 520 hours to QUALIFY for full time. You move up once you get 520, you don't have any customer complaints or accidents that were your fault. If you get customer commendations, that will greatly help you. Last I remember, it was about 15.00 a hour once you pass the 4 week training course.
Don't go to Meadowlands. I did 2 years there and it's nothing but drama as well as a ******* supervisor that treats people, alive or dead, like shit. Wayne is ok, Howell is ok too. Oradell is ok but if that garage gets flooded with the rain, good luck getting to work. It has happened before.
