137 GSP Express is pretty much the same as the 319 except the 319 continues to AC. The only reason the Destination Sign says GSP Express is that there are passengers that just want to get on the bus, sleep for 90 minutes, and get off at the first and ONLY stop: Toms River P/R. 167 between 12:40 to 2 or 3:40 services the VL P/R. Only difference is that 167 continues to Dumont/Teaneck/Harrington Park while the 321 is just VL only. As for renaming it to the 187, the 170-189 numbers REGUALLY are GWB routes. 177 is the old 167X, which I wish they would go back to. Also, 321 is a P/R route, just like the 320, with the only difference that the 320 is more for tourists but also for P/R people, and thus, different fare structures than normal.

The real problem is who really travels to 178th Street/GWB? Most, if not a MAJORITY of NY passengers are going to 42th and 8th/PABT.

NJ Transit warns customers: Expect overnight delays near Lincoln Tunnel through next fall Published: Thursday, August 02, 2012, 4:21 PM By Michael Scrivner/The Jersey Journal NJ Transit riders and commuters who use Route 495 eastbound at Pleasant Avenue in Weehawken should allow for extra travel time as overnight delays are expected. starting next Monday, the agency said today. Route 495 eastbound will be closed at Pleasant Avenue on Monday, Aug. 6 for repairs and reconstruction will continue through fall 2013. One lane on Route 495 westbound will also be closed to support the eastbound construction. The project will impact NJ Transit bus riders who travel toward New York City through the Lincoln Tunnel between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weekday nights and 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. on weekend nights. The delays will be caused by the closed lane on Route 495 eastbound and buses will have to travel on local streets in Weehawken to access the inbound Lincoln Tunnel. Many NJ Transit riders traveling toward or near Weehawken and Union City will experience significant delays due to traffic congestion near the construction zone. Some bus routes traveling from New York City City to New Jersey during the overnight hours may operate with delays due to buses arriving late to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. While that idea is great and I respect your opinions, 5 to 10 minutes doesn't do much right now with the major traffic snarls with 495 and 80/95 to the GWB clusterflucked with construction and traffic. If there wasn't so many severe issues with the roads, this idea would be fruitful. I never really took the 197 to the final stop, just to Willowbrook. When I move back to NJ, (and get back in NJT hopefully if there's room for me), I'll take a trip down there and see how many people really use that route from Warwick. Another trip that I think would make some considerable cash is if NJT had a route from Port Authority to Palisades Center in West Nyack. That mall is HUGE. I think Wayne and Meadowlands can share this line, call it the 397 - West Nyack Palisades Center Express: PABT - Route 80 - GSP - NY Thruway to Mall. No Route 17 unless GSP is closed. Local: PABT - Union City 31th Street Stops - Route 17 to Garden State Plaza - GS Parkway - NY Thruway to Mall. Local ever hour daily to help with 163 traffic of GSP passengers. Express on Weekends for shoppers.

Why not? Who says the GO25 has to be on Suburbans? Besides, that's a rush hour service down Bloomfield Avenue, where that street really needs express bus service. If the neighborhood wasn't so crappy, they might have gotten Metro D's Suburbans when they were available. Yet, and this might sound bad, but Newark, Irvington, Bloomfield, Maplewood: Those towns are not Disneyland. Not safe, history of violence, history of robberies on NJT buses when the 107 and 108 took cash, now fareboxes. The same thing that happened in Philadelphia with the 400, 403, 459, and 463 after reported incidents of robberies, even on NBC10 Philly News when a B/O talked to reporters. It's funny that out of all the NYC lines that NJT have, only 5 are Exact Fare: 107, 108, 123, 125, and 126 (Though 123, 125, and 126 can use MCI's if necessary because I have done and seen all three use MCI's before). BTW, I made an error on a previous post: GO25 services Springfield Avenue while the GO28 services Bloomfield Avenue. Sorry.

No more Suburbans are coming. My guess is they will use the other NABI's that are coming in soon and have those buses with the GoBus Wrap on them. Or just maybe trade some Suburbans for Transits for Hilton.

There are no Flxible buses in NJT. 99% were destroyed when the NABI's came. Some were brought at the scrapyard before destruction and saved for historical purposes by outside organizations not related to NJT. GO Bus is a Rapid Bus Service, where the bus services specific bus stops and those stops ONLY. Passengers enter in the front and leave in the back. GO 25 is a cousin of the 25 bus route, with service during the rush hour periods. GO28 is a nearly 24 hour bus service with service to Newark Airport to Downtown Newark, with service on Springfield Avenue. GO Bus is NJT owned and operated using specific NJT Buses to service the routes, instead of using any bus for the Go routes.

The Woodbridge - Staten Island route would have to be NJT Operated. Just have the passengers dropped off at a station once inside SI. Honestly, too many legalities with MTA to have both companies operate one line. Think about the operation of the 139 with Academy. Academy tickets are not accepted on NJT buses. So, if MTA was to operate it, 100% that MTA will not accept NJT tickets and vice-versa if it was MetroCard on NJT Buses.

Wouldn't it be more logical to have Bus service from ATLANTIC CITY AIRPORT to ATLANTIC CITY BUS TERMINAL? lol I mean, that's how the 62 get their giggles, working NEWARK LIBERTY to NEWARK PENN STATION. And even with that, is there a high demand for that service?

Oy. There better be some service on the 84 to take place of the people that needs to get to Nunguessers on Sunday Mornings or there will be some backlash. I still think if the 181 is going byebye, have one trip on the 84 start at the light rail station on 49th and Bergenline, and then continue it as the 89 all day, I think it's 1 or 2 on the 89 on Sundays.

Yeah ok, Hilton would complain about that, simply because they don't want to get robbed. If they have the 107/108 on MCI's, you know the amount of possibilities of issues that can and WILL happen? There is a reason why those lines do not have MCI's.

I'm not a dream killer but unless you show me a way where bus transit will be fast with no difficulties with getting to Trenton/NY with all the BS that is traffic, especially with all the extra traffic on the crossings lately, I don't see it happening. Service Increase? Last time I checked, NJT lost $400 mill thanks to the Gov. That $400 would of covered the extra buses needed, the drivers, training, as well as extra trains that are going to and from the destinations. Where is the money coming from to do this? If this was to happen and a service increase, how much you wanna bet: FARE HIKE?

There used to be 156R's on Saturdays but there wasn't really any people coming in. The 123 on an Artic would be great but the main problem would be turns, mainly ALL the turns. From NY: the turn from 31st and Palisades is not a easy one since the turning radius is closer, so you might hit that sign on the left side. Then turning the bus around by turning R on Jefferson, L on Baldwin, L on Beacon, L on Palisades is NOT easy. You have double parked cars on Baldwin, and it is VERY tight. To NY: Congress and Palisades, turning to the HBLR station, that is not a easy turn too since you have cars, deadheading buses, live buses coming from those directions. You have to get out of the way or cars have to move so you can get through. And, unless you place the 123 on another gate like the 200 gates where the gate will fit an articulated bus, not a chance. 126 can do it and should do it, but again, they need to move that bus to a different gate to be able to do it, which they can't at this time. The only reason it won't work is because if there is major traffic on the highways, it might take MORE time on a bus than taking the train. Another reason why Christie F'ed up when he canned ARC. NEC could of benefit with more service in and out of NYPENN

If that's the case, they can take the train. I saw the number of times I took Greyhound that people wanted to get to Philly more than New Brunswick. Just make it where the prime major cities are utilized where NJT knows passengers will come and where there won't be any overcrowding. Either that or make two legs: 301X: Philly/Trenton Express via Trenton, 301 Philly/Trenton via New Brunswick, Princeton Junction

I honestly think that there needs to be another MCI only Garage. Thus, I would first try to repurchase the old Union City Garage on Bergenline, and then place all the NABI's there. 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 89, 123, 125, and 126 should be there. I'm sick of this GWB gets NABI crap. Those lines should be MCI and MCI only. The Meadowlands would have the 121, 122, 123, 124, 126, 127, 128, 129, 137, 139, 166, 167, 181, 188, 190, 319, 320, 329, 351, and 353. B/O's have problems getting up the hill on P.P. Road due to bad traffic, for example the 85. In this instance, the B/O do more reliefs and save time with deadheads. For example, 83, 84, 85, 86: all of them can relief by just going to the garage. 83 & 85 going to Secaucus/Hackensack can just make a right on Bergenline, Left on 28th, switch drivers, Left on New York Ave, and resume the route. Going to Jersey City/Hoboken, the B/O can relief the driver back on 32nd and Bergenline or 31st Street Bus Stop, near the Domino's, and resume the normal route. 84/86 can relieve by just going to the normal route to Jersey City and wait for the driver on the 29th and Bergenline Ave Stop. To Union City, drivers can be relieved by stopping on 29th and New York Ave. No car needed, a small walk, saving gas, and save time with reliefs and deadheads. Meadowlands should be a MCI garage. The 137 Express should be added since it's pretty much half of the 319 trip. 139 should be for emergencies only. 123 should be there for rush hour trips only, getting as many people as possible on the bus. 72 passengers on a D4500 vs 57 on a NABI. If they don't want the bus because of the lack of a back door, boohoo. I'll bet more people would get on the 45 than worry about some damn back door.

Bus service from PABT to Trenton? You might as well have service from PABT to Philadelphia via Trenton and Camden if that's the case.

The thing is that now NJT is tight on money. We all know NJT didn't look too good in 2010 with the fare hikes. Another hike in two years would cause a major disaster since people would find alternative routes to work, thus the studies were done to see which lines need the trips that they have or not. Why you guys think they're getting rid of the 75? Eliminate Sunday service on the 181? Reducing service on some lines, but also adding service on lines that need it? As for the 171/175: That is a smoking gun at the moment. As we speak, the GWBBS is going through a reconstruction, and traffic already going into the GWB is poor due to ANOTHER construction. Thus, time really can't factor in since no one really knows how bad traffic will be, affecting the buses. I was looking at the new schedules coming out in a few days. ALL GWB LINES ARE UPDATED. It's so bad that the B/O only has ONE MINUTE, the second they are SCHEDULED to get in the station to get to the gate. As someone that loved the 188, if I was there, I would pick a new piece in a second. Bad enough all the GWB lines are on NABI's (UGH) but only a minute? Hello, can I pee, wash my hands, and maybe get a cup of coffee before going back out? That is NUTS! Market Street and Meadowlands.......I feel really bad for you guys!
