  1. Reference Guide:

R142M's will be/are converted R142's to CBTC and use on the (7).

R142AM's will be/are converted R142A's to CBTC and use on the (7).

R188 will be/are new subway cars and are not converted. R188's may be referred to as R142C's.

Like it, but R142M and R142AM are the same thing chief. I call it the R142M so it is more distinguished from the R142A. I guess you might be able to call it the R188A as well.

And as many others said, there are no R142s in the plan.

Ok then, so it was a mistake, you don't have to take it so personally. I answered most of your post respectfully.

    Word.

  2. The R142's don't have CBTC. But hooking them up with CBTC is still a lot easier than hooking up R62A's with CBTC, not to mention that making a major investment in car retrofits is more cost-effective on a 2000-era car than on a 1985-era car, simply because the 2000-era car will stick around 15 years longer.

Please. PLEASE. Read before you post. Second person I have told this to about the exact same thing. I said R142M, for those of us who do not know, this is what they call the modified R142As. People also call them R142AMs.

  3. Eh, I'll bite...

    - obviously shuttle buses for the M on Myrtle Avenue

    - some Middle Village-bound trains to Broadway Junction; others to Church Av via Culver until 8th Avenue incident is cleared or rush hour ends (which ever one comes first), then alternating Ms to 2 Av.

I didn't want any trains going into 2 Av, but fine, I'll give it to you today.

    NEXT

Due to switch problems, Coney Island bound (D) and (N) trains are forced to run on the Brighton Line. Again, because of an incident on 8 Av, southbound select (A)(C)(E) trains are terminating at 2 Av.

  4. I'm just curious, what did you think the purpose was of the R188 order?

To be honest, I originally thought that they would retire the R62s, or R62As for the literal people. Then I find out they pull an R160 and make some slight modifications. I never knew that anywhere in the subway had 11 Cars. I thought it was always for R46 length trains, 2 Car, 4 Car, 6 Car, and 8 Car; And for R160 length, 4 Car, 6 Car, 8 Car, and 10 Car.

I never knew that the (7) and the R142M/188 had CBTC, I never knew what CBTC was. I knew they were going to the (7), but I thought they were just trying to get rid of the R62s out there, or R62As for the people who want to be super specific.

is that threat to me . You trying to give loser

I had to learn the hard way about attacking MODs, but chief you are just asking for it.

Here's what he meant to say: "Is that a threat you're trying to give, loser?".

Not that I'm helping him out, but there isn't a need to insult him though...

    Word.

  5. UPDATE

Been a while guys. And a lot has happened overtime. Lets get started.

The R38 is getting a MAJOR Overhaul by DJ Hammers in collaboration with Mudwrestle, and it looks great.

Good news for those of us who like OpenCut routes. Mr Railfan has started development on the (N) with JayJay85, and I gotta hand it to them, it looks great.

    CFG2b.jpg

There are many developers at work on the (D). ARome has started to create Coney Island, as well as develop animated trippers.

Mr Railfan also had a little something to say regarding the (D).

    (D) is fully updated with R160 announcements

I am working on a version for the (D) to lefferts from 205 st via the (A) line south of 59 street

Brightness command and signals fully updated

Speed limit set for AI trains so they don't speed through timed sections

A (D) via West end express is in the works and one via conourse express is in the works. I will post more updates on that ones it nears completion.

The (D) will be released along side the updated (A) to lefferts and (F) v5. Hopefully By the time the December Holidays come.

Developer Imanuel also had something to say regarding the (A).

The (A) to Far Rockaway & Rockaway Park are in skeletal phases.

The (A) to Lefferts Blvd now has full R160 announcements thanks to myself & Mr Railfan. They will be available when we get to it, please near with us.

As far as the R160 goes, nyctrman has created a concept R179.

Bstyles is back, with a little bit of content too, a new EL model that will also be released in Trainz, and work on the R62.

Global Moderator Gong Gahou announces that he will begin development on the R68[A].

I just want to announce that I will be continuing what I started. And yes, you read it correctly - I will be making both the R68 and the R68A. I was supposed to make the R142A as well, but I decided to go on hiatus, so that was passed on to others. (I have no regrets though, and I wish the developers of the R142A good luck as well! :)

Some things that I want to point out before I end this post:

    - I haven't started anything yet - I just want to set out a goal and work it out from there. So, no pictures here.

    - View my old threads for what I have done so far. I'll continue from there, but may have to study them again to remember what I did. All those textures will be replaced though, as they are not mine.

    - I have a good-quality camera myself, so I will be the one supplying nearly all of the textures. But if you still want to send textures to me, particularly the ones that you think I might find useful, then sure, I'll take a look.

    - What I will need: textures for areas that I have no access to, such as the cab. I plan to make a 3D cab.

    - This will NOT be animated. Maybe I'll look for someone who can animate it when it's almost finished, but for now I'll work on it and see if I can learn it on the way.

    - I am not over-exaggerating. I know I can make something as good as what Rikabs or BStyles have made. So, that is what everyone should expect - a highly detailed R68/R68A exterior.

    - I am in college, and I am at a point where I need to think of a major, my career, and what my future will be. Of course, I will have a lot of work and stress from college. Don't be surprised if there aren't any updates. But I will try some kind of time management so I can work on the exteriors a little bit.

  6. NEXT

Due to a collapse on the Myrtle Av EL between Central Av (M) and Metro Av (M), it becomes impassible. Trains may not terminate at Marcy Av (J)(M)(Z) or Myrtle Av (J)(M)(Z) because it is rush hour, and due to a separate incident on 8 Av, select (A)(C)(E) trains are using 2 Av as a terminal at the moment.

  7. I don''t see how else they could have provided for CBTC on the Flushing line outside of the R188 project...

Ok. I am not a complete Transit devoted person who knows everything about what, when, where, and everything you know. I did not know that the cars were only were compatible on the (7). TBH, I don't even know what CBTC is.

Give me some slack, not all of us dedicate ourselves to this.

  8. They're not bashing you for making the suggestion, just explaining why it wouldn't work.

There is no reason for FINDs on cars that will not be used on lines other than the (7).

Whatever. My other point still stands valid though.

  9. Where do you expect 11-car trains equipped with Flushing CBTC packages to run aside from the 7? And if the cars are only going to run on the 7, why waste money replacing a perfectly functional strip map system that's perfectly adequate for the line and is more legible than a FIND?

Jesus man, what the the hell? All I did was give my damn opinion. Smh what is it with these newer members and bashing people who make a suggestion? Is that the way it is?

  10. I detest uniforms. I wore them my first 2 years of Jr H.S. Anyway, back then you could tell who didn't have many shirts/pants based on the wear of their clothing. Anyway, regarding alternation of clothing, I have 3 or 4 shirts/pants in my wardrobe that don't look worn out, so yeah I'm kinda broke. I don't care what anyone says, they aren't buying my clothes (unless they offer).

I wore them the first 8 years of school (PS/ES) of my life. Consider yourself lucky.

  11. Jamaica Center to 34 St/Penn Station

34 St may not be used as a terminal, but good job otherwise.

    NEXT

The Joralemon St tunnels are impassable. Trains may use the crossover at Borough Hall and the loop at Bowling Green.

Duration of change: 5 years. Be creative and provide as many alternatives as possible.

    (3) Via Eastern Parkway Express b/w Atlantic Av & Franklin Av, runs all times to New Lots Av.

(4)(5) No service b/w Bowling Green and Brooklyn.

    (N) Via Tunnel.

  12. How many times have we told you that it's not possible considering all those connections to the 63rd Street Tunnel and everything else around the area? I guess you never listen do you. You keep vomiting the same stuff over and over again, and it doesn't work. It's been proven to not work. I guess you never heard of the term "You can't eat water". You can go ahead and try over and over, but it won't work. You are doing the same thing here.

    You can't eat water? Ice.

Wow I have not seen you around for a while. There is absolutely nothing wrong about making a suggestion. I bring up things from the past all the time. It is always good to review what you have. He made a great point. There is a big gap between 72 St and 86 St, and filling the gap up would be nice, as I also have noticed that it is pretty heavily populated up there.

  13. CBTC increases capacity a bit - it doesn't create infinite capacity!

Three-track terminals have advantages and disadvantages, but they're not particularly advantageous in terms of capacity - compare the two ends of the Flushing line, where the two-track terminal has significantly greater capacity than the three-track terminal.

That said, the Phase 2 plans call for a three-track terminal at 125th and Lex - see page 2-12 of the FEIS - but I'm not sure I understand why.

Wow as confusing as the trackage already is, why on Earth would they want to throw in another one?
