  1. I didn't mention that the are affected.
  2. In order to speed up work on the Queen Blvd Line, the MTA decides to shut down the entire Queen Blvd Line from Jamaica Center and Jamaica 179 St to 42 St PABT, 21 St Queensbridge, and Lexington Av/59 St. Work will take place from 9 p.m Friday to 5 a.m Monday. Lines affected . Reroute trains:
  3. Service is extended to Bowling Green Late Nights, 12:01 AM to 5 AM, Wed to Fri, May 29 - 31 Service operates between Pelham Bay Park and Bowling Green. The reason I'm posting this service change is because this is a rare opportunity to get a and a in one photo. An excellent time to get photos.
  4. I agree what on Grand Concourse and MTA Bus said about your ideas. Constucting a middle track between Utica Av and New Lots Av would take more than a year since you got to build the structure to support the track. It would also cause frequent shutdowns on the New Lots Av line which people would not like since thay are losing train service. If they decide to run train service through the constuction area. The trains would have to run less than 10 miles per hour through the area which can increase travel time. The neighborhood would complain about the noise that the construction would make. I don't think there is a demand for express service on the New Lots Av line since the can handle the crowds prefectly. I think that extending the to 179 st would be a waste of money. Hillside riders want express service to Manhattan and most of Hillside riders would still take the instead of the . Many of the Hillside riders come from buses that serves areas that lack subway service. They want to have a faster ride to Manhattan rather than sitting on the train that is making all local stops. I think City Hall lower level should be kept at its current state because it would be unneccesary to bring it back because we already have Whitehall st to short turn trains just like what the other say. It will be a waste of money to bring back City Hall lower level since the MTA has better ideas on where it's money should be spent to provide better service not on stupid ideas. I also think we can have more short turn ®'s terminating a whitehall St to reduce crowding on the local stations on Queen Blvd during the weekend.
  5. I also though that the MTA would run a FASTRACK SPECIAL B9 during late nights between 4 Av and Mcdonald Av. I can see why the MTA would run a shuttle instead on suspending Sea Beach Service. It would been better to serve train service on the Sea Beach line than rather abusing customers with no train service since no work is going to be done on that line since it's outdoors. Also running buses to replace Sea Beach train service would cost more money than shuttle train service. It will also cause less inconvience between customers.
  6. Very lucky catch. That catch was like a lottery catch. Congruations!
  7. 4 Av Fastrack is next after the second round of Brodway Fastrack.
  8. The MTA didn't mention anything about the so it's most likely running normal.
  9. runs in 2 sections. 1, 242 St-137 St 2, Times Square-South Ferry. runs in 2 sections 1, 241 st-110 St 2, Times Square-Flatbush Av. suspended. extended to New Lots Av and runs local on Eastern Pkwy all times. more rush hour trips on Upper White Plains Line. Free Shuttle Bus service runs between: 1, 148 St-135 St 2, 110 St -110 St . sevice increased. Next: Due to extensive track work and station work on the IRT for the weekend. The following areas are out of service. 1, The entire Lenox Line to 149 St and 148 St. 2, The line between Chambers St and Atlantic Av 3, The entire Nostrand Line. 4, The relay tracks south of Utica Av. 5, The downtown Pehalm tube between 3 Av and 125 St. 6, The Lexington Av Exp Tracks. Reroute the trains. .
  10. The Increase the frequency to every 6 minutes from 10 p.m to 2 a.m to handle crowds heading to Jamaica as it's the only subway line serving Jamaica when this happens . Since service will mostly run as a shuttle. If would be useful to use the leftover R160's as extra trains. Increase LIRR service between Penn Station and Jamaica to take some of the load off the shuttle buses and the . Why not run make the express buses follow the Queen Blvd Line since Queen Blvd is wide enough to handle express buses. service would end early which makes and service begin their late night patterns early. service terminates at Roosevelt Av with the running local from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Av and the running express as usual between 21 st and Roosevelt Av
  11. Does anyone know why service to/from Forest Hills end 1 hour early than service to/from Forest Hills during Queen Blvd Fastrack?
  12. The can handle the 8 Av crowds by it's self and this is late night where many New Yorkers are in bed.
  13. I do not know what the MTA plans as alternative lines. So I will make a prediction. The will most likely be used for alternatives. The are close to stations between Court Square and 46 St so people using those stations can walk to 31 st for service. The is close to most stations on the Queens Blvd Line which is an perfect alternative to the . Even though the dosen't even go near the affected stations on the Queens Blvd Line. Those living in Jamaica and Kew Gardens can also use the for direct service to Manhattan instead of taking the Queens Blvd Line shuttle to 74 St for
  14. Quote from Mattis Nelson in Mercs 2 that will answer your question. " I don't know and I don't want to know".
  15. Those living in Jamaica or in Kew Gardens can also use the to Manhattan as an alternative to the .
  16. What happened to the Stillwell Yard today? When I passed it was nearly dead empty with only 6 cars of worktrain equiment.
  17. I was also excecting the to run overnight but it didn't. If the ran over night that is going to be a Christmas gift and a birthday present for die hard railfanners especially Daniel The Cool. Well there is another reminder sometimes your wishes come true othertimes it dosen't come true. I am still fine what choice the MTA makes and we don't make any choices on what alternatives we should make. It's there job not us.
  18. I am also surprised that dosen't end early!! 6 Av would have a lot of trains running during that Fastrack so hav fun railfanning at 6 Av people!
  19. The will operate normally throughout the Nostrand Fastrack!!
  20. It's acutally released on the Planned Service Changes for Subways Section. Go to that section and chose any date between Jan 14 and Jan 18. The Fastrack service change is posted there.
  21. The MTA released the whole fastrack service change on it's website. I checked it today.
  22. Alex Mercer did this lol!!!. Tell the people to evacuate Manhattan. Destroy the infected trains and the people trapped are going to get inffected any way.
  23. The Brookyln section of the is using R62 trains from the . I rode an R62 from Borough Hall to Altantic Av today. If anyone wants pictures of an R62 now it's the chance!
  24. Yesterday on the 4th av line before shutdown was very weird. In the northbound express track between 59st and 36st there were R68 trains laided up. In the southbound express track between 36st and 59st there were R46 trains laided up. At 36st I saw a R160 laided up north of the station on the southbound track. Northbound trains ran local from 59st to 36st then express. All 4th av soutbound service was on the local track.
