Ken S. 4 Posted January 7, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2008 Whatever happened to those buses? Why didn't (NJT) buy them from Academy as relief for their bus shortage? It seemed to me that there was nothing wrong with the ex-NYCT units. If Academy had never turned its Hudson County routes over to (NJT) would they have bought the ex-DOT TMCs by now as replacements for the GMs? Or did (NJT) refuse to take them in the sale of the 22, 23, and Academy's part of the 126? Now what would (NJT) do if Academy had bought some of the DC Orion rejects along with CUSA? Now what would (NJT) do if Academy had bought some of the DC Orion rejects along with CUSA? Academy and NJT came to the decide to not want them because they thought they wouldn't hold up too long. Now, about DC reject Orions, NJT would never take them because NJT saw Orion buses as maintance nightmares. Thats one of the other reasons why NJT didn't order Orion Vs besides the problem Orion and NJT had.
