Robert Bosco 0 Posted February 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2008 I've recently moved to Queens and have been seeing a disturbing trend. It seems to me that a lot of the equipment that runs on Queens Blvd gets tagged up with graffiti. Now I've noticed that a lot of trains get layed up at night and on weekends either inbetween stations or at stations, like Union Turnpike. Why would the MTA layup trains in areas that are easily accessible. Is there not enough room in the yards?
trainfan22 2,157 Posted February 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 18, 2008 Because there is not enough room in jamica yards. So they lay up trains on the express tracks.Soon you will start seeing R42s from ENY yard layed up on the broadway EL express tracks.Because them R160s are coming in like crazy. And they are not running on the anytime soon.Oh and they also lay up trains on the brighton express tracks.Because ocean parkway is getting rebuilt.
