RH6291 Posted June 1, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 1, 2010 Will Long Island Bus be getting any new buses within the next year or so? What will replace the old 1400s once they are retired? Thank You.
East New York Posted June 1, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 1, 2010 Will Long Island Bus be getting any new buses within the next year or so? What will replace the old 1400s once they are retired? Thank You. They should be getting more next year as long as the O7 3G options are exercised.
JohnQPine Posted June 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted June 2, 2010 They should be getting more next year as long as the O7 3G options are exercised. Yeah and we need 'em. Many of the Orion V CNG are starting to breakdown alot more, I've noticed. It just seemed like yesterday when we got a bunch of them in 1999, now they are 11 years old. Even the Suffolk ones are showing their age and having problems. I've heard some of Suffolk's Orion V's may be retired when they get their order of 07's. Seems RTS and MCI are the only buses out there that can take a licking and keeping on ticking! Man this thread makes me feel old...
RH6291 Posted June 2, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted June 2, 2010 Imagine RTS's on Long Island? I've seen a picture of one before. I'll miss those orions. I remember riding bus 307 when it was brand new in 1999. Time flys!

JohnQPine Posted June 2, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 2, 2010 what bus is the VII 3G? how does it look like? Well, from what I've heard, they will have driver barriers and pull cords. I sure hope the seating arrangement is different. One thing needs to get rid of is the Clever Devices though. I think the new order may not have them. Of course I've been on the NYCT NGs and see they have pull cords and driver barriers. I really hope the seating arrangement will be the same as NYCT's.
